    Sponge cake

Chinese bakery, Chinatown Philly My goto bakery for sponge cakes when we are in Philly. The space is very small, just 1 or 2 tables inside. The price is very reasonable but the selection has decreased over the years!

Red and Green mooncakes were so good, as usual! The egg tart looked delicious and the cross section is thicc but it was unfortunately way too eggy for my liking. I do like their mooncakes and custard buns though!

Elite egg tarts. Make great, fluffy, and not too sweet birthday cakes and can write any message you like! Cash only

Small bakery - cash only. Typical Asian bake goods. It was busy with only one girl taking orders, packaging, and taking money, but she was fast and friendly. The roast pork was delicious. Thin soft slightly sweet bread and good meat ratio. The beef curry pie was not good. Over cook, another second it would have been burnt. Barely edible - beef curry filling was lacking with no flavor. Prices are okay $2-$3. I'd go back for the roast buns!

Brought some egg tart home as dessert and ended up eating it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. These egg tarts are not too soft, not too thick but very creamy! Not too sweet either. Never seen an egg tart this thick but i'm loving it! Will deff explore other options next time when I am there in the shop!

LOVED the BBQ pork buns we got from here! My friend got mooncakes back during the Mid-Autumn festival which were great as well. This place is cash preferred :) service is quick but arrive early for the best selection of baked goods! The storefront is very small with only enough room for a few customers at a time but you get service very quickly. No room to dine-in.

I hear BreadTop is a classic bakery. They have two displays of bread with their prices listed, probably averaging $2. They have the basics, the go tos, nothing really out of the ordinary. It's sad that after the pandemic, you can no longer pick up a tray and tongs and grab your own bread. There is a sweet Chinese lady who helps you pick out what you want. It's better to please pay in cash (support local businesses!). There isn't much space inside the store, but there's a couple tables and chairs. It's more of a grab and go feeling.

My favorite bakery in Chinatown. I have been coming here for over 10 years and continue to make a trip whenever I'm back in town. You can't go wrong with any of the pastries/buns. Go early in the morning if you want the best selection. I always end up with at least a dozen. My favorites include egg tarts, ham and egg, pineapple custard, ham and corn, bbq pork, and hot dog. I get the strawberry bubble tea too. It's like a smoothie and they use real fruit. Also, like most places in Chinatown, cash is preferred.

I really liked Bread Top's bbq roast pork bun! I was a bit surprised that pork buns run for $2 apiece here (around 50% more than other Chinatowns I've been to), but it's still a totally fair price. The bun had a nice texture and flavor, and the filling had a good classic flavor. I could've done without the red food dye, but it is pretty standard. The filling wasn't super evenly distributed throughout the bun, but that's not a huge issue either. Would come again!

Three layer cake with red and pink flowers. We provided the round double happiness sign and extra items on the table.

We couldn't be happier with how our wedding cake turned out. We loved how it looked and how it tasted. My wife and I had placed the order a month earlier for our Chinese banquet. We gave Bread Top a picture of what we wanted, something simple and clean and they said no problem, they can do it. We told them when we needed the cake and placed the order. Their price was the best out of the asian bakeries in the area even with delivery included. On the day of, a gentleman dropped off the cake to our reception. He was very quick and I almost missed him but managed to call out to give him a red envelope tip. We received many compliments on the cake, it truly was beautiful and delicious. Our guests appreciated how fluffy the sponge cake was in addition to how light and not overly sweet the whipped cream was. They also appreciated the extra layer of jam we added. Again, we are more than pleased with the service we received from Bread Top House.

Any true French bakery would not put the name "Napoleon" on a 2 small overdone pastry in the shape of a heart with small amount of cream in the middle. Nothing like the napoleon which my friend is and always has been a French classic. A three layered pastry fluffy with silky cream between each layer with a beautiful fondant icing which they called Mille - feuille. No it is not an Italian version it is French through and through. While as a French bakery you can make those cutesy heart pastry puffs please do not insult the french baker by calling it a napoleon. I unfortunately made the very foolish mistake of ordering this heart puff napoleon over the phone- thinking I would be getting , yes, you guessed it a napoleon.

Dubai chocolate is super popular right now so I grabbed a Dubai chocolate mochi donut and a pistachio mochi donut for later. In my opinion, the Dubai chocolate donut was way better. It tasted just like the chocolate bar. Pistachio could've used a little more flavor. I tasted this one when I got home and it held up in 95 degree heat. Both were very soft and chewy. The employees at Paris Baguette are super helpful and nice, while also being efficient. Three people at the registers helped the line move quickly. While I love Paris Baguette, it isn't a coffee shop/bakery I would visit everyday because the prices are a little higher than average. For that once in a while craving, though, it's the perfect place to drop in and try a variety of items.

It was a milky tea that had a rosy taste to it. After a while; however, I felt like it was too sweet. For our main apps we had twister fries which were pretty basic. We also had the fried shrimp lollipops which were very tasty. The place offered us a collection of tea sandwiches and scones and macarons. Overall, my guests didn't leave hungry.
