Turkey Bacon, Egg, and Cheese
Jess D.

Great bagel shop! Lots of menu options and their bagels are pretty consistent. Tons of incredible spreads too. I stuck with a basic BEC on an Everything bagel. It was solid. My only wish was that they toasted it a bit more but next time I will say "extra toasted" and see if that does the trick. Great staff and lovely outdoor seating area.

I had a rosemary and salt bagel. I really enjoyed it, though it really needed more salt. There was almost no sea salt actually attached to the bagel. It was just rosemary except on about two bites. My husband also got a bagel sandwich with an everything bagel, and he liked it but thought the bagel was a bit too hard. There is a bit of seating outside, but it was consistently pretty full while we were there.

I mean, the cross section speaks for itself! Bart's is serving up some great Bagel, unique cream cheese flavors, and fantastic breakfast sandwiches. While it's a bit crowded inside, the staff are always nice and try to keep things moving. The patio outside is a great place to enjoy your bagel, but it would be nice to have a bit more shade out there. We've been back twice already, and I can't imagine that changing.

Great quick grab&go breakfast spot. They had many bagel, spreads, and prepared salads. The woman taking our order was so friendly and helpful with recommendations. They even had gluten free bagels & vegan cream cheese. I appreciated the celiac protocol as well. I had an everything GF bagel with vegan cream cheese.

After about a year of sending prayers to the Big Man upstairs, he finally answered. A QUALITY BAGEL IN SOUTH PHILLY?! GOD STEPPED IN! I couldn't take anymore of The Bagel Place. One's soul can only take so many mid bagels, rude service, and bad coffee. It got to the point where my girlfriend and I started making our own bagels on Sunday mornings. When she sent me an IG of this place announcing Bart's opening in the area, my hopeless optimism took the wheel. We entered on a Friday morning, and right when we walked in I knew the good lord had answered my prayers of quiet desperation: You can see them cooking up fresh bagels, it smells like a quintessential bagel shop in NY, employees actually smile and engage with you a bit, and the coffee is good. We got our order after 5 minutes and sat outside on the patio. My GFs cheese pull on the BEC was actually legendary. One of the best cheese pulls I've seen this decade. Orgasmic. My dumbass got turkey bacon, and it's just so much less satisfying than actual bacon. There is no crunch on turkey bacon smh. But that's on me not on Bart's. I gotta take responsibility. Idk why I thought I was being healthy. No way turkey bacon is that much better for you than actual bacon... Lessons. The Everything Bagel was fantastic. A crispy toast on the outside, with a doughy interior that made me give an audible "DAMN!" Best bagel I've had in Philly, no question. Thank you for blessing us, Bart's. You are the oasis in the South Philly Bagel desert. The light in the bagel abyss. Ig @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

As a flight attendant on a private jet I was in need of good bagels, lox and whitefish. Boy did I hit the jackpot with Bart's. I called the day before and spoke to Holden who was a pleasant young lady who assured me I was contacting the right bagel shop. Passenger loved his breakfast and the pilots did too! Appreciate working with a fine business like Bart's.

Love this location and their seating area. Owner and staff are very chill and attentive, but also very kind! I have ordered everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, cinnamon raisin bagel, and onion bagel. These were great, though I kind of wish the cinnamon raisin bagel had a tad more raisin (I know... I'm strange). The cream cheese is different for sure and I'm not used to it... it's not bad, but i feel like it tastes a bit salty? I like the sodium in cream cheese to be little less noticeable, though maybe that's just my own preference. Either way, it's a great bagel spot with kick ass coffee. I'm rooting for this business!

Chunky whitefish salad

Halalujiah! I have finally found bagel heaven. I decided to try Bart's because they said their whitefish salad was made in house. I generally make my own whitefish salad because all the ones I've ever bought are terrible, mushy and bland. Bart's is awesome! Chunky and delicious. My only note would be a little too much mayo, so I give it a 9 not a 10. The bagels are perfection. Crusty with a grat chew. Dense and loaded with toppings. I am never going anywhere else for bagels, my search for bagel Nirvana is over.

Cute shop serving solid bagel sandwiches, especially for Philly. Coming from Jersey, I wasn't blown away by the bagels but wasn't disappointed either. Service was friendly. They don't have any indoor seating, but they do have an outdoor patio for the warmer weather. Pricing for an egg and cheese is around $5.50 and sandwiches with smoked fish are $12+ depending on the toppings. My friends who got smoked fish/fish salads were very satisfied. They also have monthly specials.

Hands down my favorite bagels in the city. Such a good selection of Shamar's and bagels (egg, egg everything, pumpernickel, pumpernickel everything). Order ahead to skip the line!

My partner is a classic New Yorker bagel snob and has been on the hunt for the best bagel in Philly. At its best, Bart's Bagels is that place. We stopped by a few days after they opened and our bagels were really, really good. The texture was that perfect mix of crisp exterior and chewy, dense interior, and the bagels were uniformly shaped. We were really thrilled. The fun cream cheese flavors (long hot cream cheese!) were an added bonus. Unfortunately, the last time we went, our bagels were both a little undercooked, so they were too dense and kind of tough in the middle. I also ordered a sesame and an everything bagel, and the order ticket had the bagels listed correctly, but when we opened the bag at home, we had two sesame bagels. The little patio seating area is cute - just note that one of the tables is underneath the exhaust vent, so if they're making bagels while you're there, the table does get toasty!

I had the turkey on wheat with American cheese. I opted for the Russian dressing since I'm not a fan of hot deli mustard. I had it toasted panini style. The service was quick, friendly and you could tell they took pride in what they were doing. My wife opted for the pastrami on wheat with may and provolone cheese, also panini style. She had potato salad as a side and the coleslaw. Both were good. The Marketplace is a very large (formerly Penn Station) turned open market area covering food, produce, meat market, flowers, artisans etc. A wonderful place. The food was awesome the meats were amazingly tasty and worth the price!

We originally ordered just one sandwich to share, but it was so good that we ended up going back for another one. The pastrami was flavorful, tender, and packed generously into the sandwich. We also got lucky because there weren't too many people when we arrived, so we were able to grab seats right at the counter and enjoy everything fresh. Highly recommended if you're visiting Reading Market, definitely one of the standout food spots there.

This was my first time actually trying it and it definitely lived up to the hype of the Yelp reviews. My wrap had chicken, hummus, lettuce, and feta, and it was so delicious. My chicken was very good, very tender and seasoned well. It also had a great creamy hummus to tie all the other ingredients together. The feta added just enough saltiness to balance out the rest of the flavors. All of the ingredients were very fresh, and my wrap was extremely soft, yet still maintained its form completely as I ate. I also ordered a Nutella hot chocolate. It was delicious! It was my fist time having a Nutella hot Chocolate. I usually just get a normal hot chocolate. The pita chips served as an additional side item with this sandwich and proved to be quite enjoyable. The pita chips had a good crunch and were able to pair with the wrap very well. I ended up eating all of the pita chips! It was a great lunch and I enjoyed my wrap! I would likely order from Café Square One again in the future, especially, if that wrap is still on their menu!

I went to Middle Child a few weeks ago just after 3, only to find it closes at 3. Today I returned, around 1, and there was a good crowd there having lunch. I ordered the Surfer, and the Hash Brown Potatoes. The Surfer is Middle Child's most popular sandwich. It's made on a Ciabatta bun, and has a thick layering of tender, lean, House Turkey breast, with melty Swiss cheese, arugula, blueberry chutney, and Duke's mayo. It's hard to describe just how delicious this sandwich was. My biggest concern was the Ciabatta bun - it's not one of my favorites, as I've found them to be tough and difficult to bite through. My fears were quickly put to rest after the first bite! The bun had a slightly crispy exterior - and when I followed through with my first bite, the tender, soft interior of the Ciabatta was a pleasant surprise. In fact, it complemented the thick savory Turkey, arugula, chutney and mayo! It was one of the best Turkey sandwiches I've had. Now, if that wasn't enough, don't forget, I ordered the Hash Brown Potatoes. It said Hash Browns on the blackboard, see attached picture, but these 'weren't your Mama's hash browns'! They are described online as Latka'd Hash Browns. They are thick crispy squares that combine a potato pancake latke with a hash brown texture. The interior reminded me of my mother's potato kugel, which I still reminisce about. In one word, those fried crispy potato squares were outstanding. It's 'a must try' and goes so well with the Surfer! Last, but not least, the Limeade! It was so refreshing! Not too tart, not too sweet... just right! I'll be returning to Middle Child in the not too distant future!

The corned beef was an enticing vibrant pink, tender and juicy, with a perfectly balanced and pure saltiness that accentuated the beef's natural flavor. The scrambled eggs were incredibly smooth and creamy, complemented by the rich, melted cooper sharp cheese. The rye was toasted with butter, giving it a thin, crispy crust and a soft interior--a bit softer than Hershel's East Side Deli's, fragrant but not greasy. Every part was delicious, and the combination was harmonious and delightful. The portion of ingredients was very generous, definitely worth the $14.50 price. The service was a little slow, but the moment you tasted it, you would forgive everything!
