The existence of Bart's Bagels is just cruel. Honestly, how dare you have bagel sandwiches so delicious, so satisfying, so amazing, that now all other food tastes inferior? Ordered the 'Pink & Pretty' and am in awe of how you can take those ingredients, combine them, and make a heavenly bagel. In all seriousness, Bart's is consistently fantastic - my favorite bagel in the city. The taste of every bagel I've tried (and I've tried many - don't judge) continues to be delicious. I got the Everything bagel with long hot cream cheese. The bagel itself had a great texture and flavor, especially toasted, but the seasoning was quite salty. The long hot cream cheese didn't have much flavor but overall it's one of the better bagels in town. It's counter-service only and the staff were great. I recently tried a few breakfast bagels here for the first time. It was during prime brunch hour on a weekend and the shop was quite busy but the wait wasn't too bad. Personally, the bagels here are not my cup of tea. They were a little too dense, very chewy and a bit tough, whereas I prefer bagels that are light, soft and fluffy. Additionally, the sausage in the breakfast bagel was not a typical breakfast sausage but more of a sweet and spicy style - not what I expected or wanted. We were in Philadelphia and I had seen Bart's Bagels on Instagram and wanted to check it out. I got the Bart's Banh Mi on a spicy everything bagel which was fantastic albeit very messy. My Daughter got the Pink and Pretty on a spicy everything with cucumbers added. She also loved her bagel. We sat outside in the courtyard which was nice. I would come back here again to bring home some of the bagels and spreads. Found street parking not too far away. If you're in Philly check them out. read more

Great bagel shop! Lots of menu options and their bagels are pretty consistent. Tons of incredible spreads too. I stuck with a basic BEC on an Everything bagel. It was solid. I mean, the cross section speaks for itself! Bart's is serving up some great Bagel, unique cream cheese flavors, and fantastic breakfast sandwiches. While it's a bit crowded inside, the staff are always nice and try to keep things moving. The patio outside is a great place to enjoy your bagel, but it would be nice to have a bit more shade out there. We've been back twice already, and I can't imagine that changing. read more

After about a year of sending prayers to the Big Man upstairs, he finally answered. A QUALITY BAGEL IN SOUTH PHILLY?! GOD STEPPED IN! I couldn't take anymore of The Bagel Place. One's soul can only take so many mid bagels, rude service, and bad coffee. It got to the point where my girlfriend and I started making our own bagels on Sunday mornings. When she sent me an IG of this place announcing Bart's opening in the area, my hopeless optimism took the wheel. We entered on a Friday morning, and right when we walked in I knew the good lord had answered my prayers of quiet desperation: You can see them cooking up fresh bagels, it smells like a quintessential bagel shop in NY, employees actually smile and engage with you a bit, and the coffee is good. We got our order after 5 minutes and sat outside on the patio. My GFs cheese pull on the BEC was actually legendary. One of the best cheese pulls I've seen this decade. Orgasmic. My dumbass got turkey bacon, and it's just so much less satisfying than actual bacon. There is no crunch on turkey bacon smh. But that's on me not on Bart's. I gotta take responsibility. Idk why I thought I was being healthy. No way turkey bacon is that much better for you than actual bacon... Lessons. The Everything Bagel was fantastic. I have ordered everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, cinnamon raisin bagel, and onion bagel. These were great, though I kind of wish the cinnamon raisin bagel had a tad more raisin (I know... Halalujiah! I have finally found bagel heaven. I decided to try Bart's because they said their whitefish salad was made in house. I generally make my own whitefish salad because all the ones I've ever bought are terrible, mushy and bland. Bart's is awesome! Chunky and delicious. My only note would be a little too much mayo, so I give it a 9 not a 10. The bagels are perfection. Crusty with a grat chew. Dense and loaded with toppings. My partner is a classic New Yorker bagel snob and has been on the hunt for the best bagel in Philly. At its best, Bart's Bagels is that place. We stopped by a few days after they opened and our bagels were really, really good. The texture was that perfect mix of crisp exterior and chewy, dense interior, and the bagels were uniformly shaped. We were really thrilled. The fun cream cheese flavors (long hot cream cheese!) were an added bonus. Unfortunately, the last time we went, our bagels were both a little undercooked, so they were too dense and kind of tough in the middle. I also ordered a sesame and an everything bagel, and the order ticket had the bagels listed correctly, but when we opened the bag at home, we had two sesame bagels. The little patio seating area is cute - just note that one of the tables is underneath the exhaust vent, so if they're making bagels while you're there, the table does get toasty! read more

Lox bagels are such a treat, and I usually go for either an everything or sesame bagel!! I've been wanting to try Bart's for a while, and I'm so glad they opened up in South Philly closer to me. My favorite is the classic lox sando with nova smoked salmon, scallion cream cheese (a must), tomato, red onion, and capers. Typically I go with an everything bagel, but not before looking at the monthly special bagels (the rosemary salt bagel...amazing). The outdoor seating area is also nice.
