Bacon egg and cheese w garlic herb cream cheese. A LOT of cream cheese but it was really good! It's such a small place but i appreciate how nice the main guy is even when they have a line down the block! Maybe they just need one more employee! I also love their honey pecan cream cheese !!

This is becoming my fav breakfast sandwich/bagel place. Line is usually not too long but I usually have gone earlier in the morning or around lunch when breakfast rush has died down.

It's no secret that Philadelphia isn't exactly a bagel town--the preferred doughy treat here is undoubtedly the pretzel. That being said, I can't help but sometimes crave a bagel when I'm in the area. I have tried a few bagel spots in the Philly 'burbs but left disappointed each time, as the bagels always seemed to miss the mark. So when I walked by this location of Philly Bagels, I was curious how a bagel place in Center City would hold up. The setup is simple, with just a window for ordering and no indoor space. I stopped by around 10am on a Sunday and there was only one person ahead of me on line. They offer a decent variety of bagels, along with an even longer list of cream cheeses. I went with a plain bagel toasted with one of their speciality spreads, the "dragon schmear" (jalapeño, red pepper, scallion, & walnuts). Service was quick and efficient. For a bagel outside of the NY metro, I would give it 5 stars. It definitely has the texture (hard boiled outside with a chewy inside) that many places fail to get right outside of NY/NJ. The "dragon schmear" was good too, balancing well with the plain bagel. Philly Bagels is definitely deserving of its name and will be my go-to next time I'm craving a bagel in Philadelphia.

After living in nyc for a few years I was hesitant to try bagels in Philly since moving back. Today I was craving a bagel and headed over to Philly bagels and let me tell you they satisfied my cravings. I ordered the lox special which comes with tomatoes capers and onion. I wish there were more capers but let me tell you, they really stuffed this bagel. It was the perfect amount of lox to cream cheese ratio for me and the bagel itself was pretty good! The service was also phenomenal and super sweet. I will definitely be returning next time if I want a bagel

Great little bagel spot right off of Broad. Their everything and sesame bagels were solid and highly recommend one of their sandwiches (new hot honey sandwich is ). Great service as well!

A good bagel from a tiny shop I have a bit of a soft spot for small shops that do one thing but do it well. This little bagel place is a gem of a stop, offers bagels and schmere for anyone crossing along. I got a couple of everything bagels with garlic herb and dragon cream cheese. The bagels were fresh and chewy, the cream cheese was full of toppings and the flavors were good. This place does bagels but does them well, and you'll be hard pressed to find better in walking distance. Worth traveling to if you want a bagel.

The man at the window was so kind! They're walk up only! I got a jalapeño cheese bagel and it was really good.

Good bagel and price! Takes them a bit to make your order if you are getting a sandwich but otherwise nice service.

I had the turkey on wheat with American cheese. I opted for the Russian dressing since I'm not a fan of hot deli mustard. I had it toasted panini style. The service was quick, friendly and you could tell they took pride in what they were doing. My wife opted for the pastrami on wheat with may and provolone cheese, also panini style. She had potato salad as a side and the coleslaw. Both were good. The Marketplace is a very large (formerly Penn Station) turned open market area covering food, produce, meat market, flowers, artisans etc. A wonderful place. The food was awesome the meats were amazingly tasty and worth the price!

We originally ordered just one sandwich to share, but it was so good that we ended up going back for another one. The pastrami was flavorful, tender, and packed generously into the sandwich. We also got lucky because there weren't too many people when we arrived, so we were able to grab seats right at the counter and enjoy everything fresh. Highly recommended if you're visiting Reading Market, definitely one of the standout food spots there.

This was my first time actually trying it and it definitely lived up to the hype of the Yelp reviews. My wrap had chicken, hummus, lettuce, and feta, and it was so delicious. My chicken was very good, very tender and seasoned well. It also had a great creamy hummus to tie all the other ingredients together. The feta added just enough saltiness to balance out the rest of the flavors. All of the ingredients were very fresh, and my wrap was extremely soft, yet still maintained its form completely as I ate. I also ordered a Nutella hot chocolate. It was delicious! It was my fist time having a Nutella hot Chocolate. I usually just get a normal hot chocolate. The pita chips served as an additional side item with this sandwich and proved to be quite enjoyable. The pita chips had a good crunch and were able to pair with the wrap very well. I ended up eating all of the pita chips! It was a great lunch and I enjoyed my wrap! I would likely order from Café Square One again in the future, especially, if that wrap is still on their menu!

I went to Middle Child a few weeks ago just after 3, only to find it closes at 3. Today I returned, around 1, and there was a good crowd there having lunch. I ordered the Surfer, and the Hash Brown Potatoes. The Surfer is Middle Child's most popular sandwich. It's made on a Ciabatta bun, and has a thick layering of tender, lean, House Turkey breast, with melty Swiss cheese, arugula, blueberry chutney, and Duke's mayo. It's hard to describe just how delicious this sandwich was. My biggest concern was the Ciabatta bun - it's not one of my favorites, as I've found them to be tough and difficult to bite through. My fears were quickly put to rest after the first bite! The bun had a slightly crispy exterior - and when I followed through with my first bite, the tender, soft interior of the Ciabatta was a pleasant surprise. In fact, it complemented the thick savory Turkey, arugula, chutney and mayo! It was one of the best Turkey sandwiches I've had. Now, if that wasn't enough, don't forget, I ordered the Hash Brown Potatoes. It said Hash Browns on the blackboard, see attached picture, but these 'weren't your Mama's hash browns'! They are described online as Latka'd Hash Browns. They are thick crispy squares that combine a potato pancake latke with a hash brown texture. The interior reminded me of my mother's potato kugel, which I still reminisce about. In one word, those fried crispy potato squares were outstanding. It's 'a must try' and goes so well with the Surfer! Last, but not least, the Limeade! It was so refreshing! Not too tart, not too sweet... just right! I'll be returning to Middle Child in the not too distant future!

The corned beef was an enticing vibrant pink, tender and juicy, with a perfectly balanced and pure saltiness that accentuated the beef's natural flavor. The scrambled eggs were incredibly smooth and creamy, complemented by the rich, melted cooper sharp cheese. The rye was toasted with butter, giving it a thin, crispy crust and a soft interior--a bit softer than Hershel's East Side Deli's, fragrant but not greasy. Every part was delicious, and the combination was harmonious and delightful. The portion of ingredients was very generous, definitely worth the $14.50 price. The service was a little slow, but the moment you tasted it, you would forgive everything!
