Overall, a OK to good experience here this morning! I ordered a classic and it came out promptly. Staff are pretty friendly for 7:30 AM in the morning The bagel itself was so-so. The bagel itself was delicious and had the chew on it that I like, although I'd wish I had a bit more non-bread ingredients on it to give it a bit more weight, and to meet the price tag on it. Overall the seating area itself is clean and can accommodate large groups, although it felt a bit sparse. I'd appreciate a refresh on the space to feel like it's a place I'd like to stay to enjoy my bagel! read more

I ordered the lox smith bagel for $7 and it was cool to watch them put all of the fix ins into the schmear. It was stacked! cCucumbers, lox, tomatoes and scallions. I got the bagel not toasted, and it definitely needed to be. It did not taste fresh and was chewy. read more

They changed their menu recently and it couldn't be more disappointing. They used to have a variety of sandwich options with veggies and meat mixed into the eggs and cream cheese. They're no longer doing this and it's not the same. I used to come here multiple times a month because it was delicious and refreshing but now it's equivalent to wawa but for triple the price. They also got rid of their rewards program right before raising all of the prices and lower the quality so now I won't be going back unfortunately. Walked .5 Mile in search of some delicious breakfast bagels and this place did not disappoint! While the dining area is nothing to write home about per say, it is clean and more than sufficient for a largely take out venue. The excellent service and delicious food certainly makes up for any lack of dining ambience. I really enjoyed the Philly roll which is sushi inspired with lox and wasabi+soy sauce. I felt the wasabi balanced the cream cheese. The scallions also added a nice texture. Don't ask why we put it in a blueberry bagel. It didn't effect the flavor overall though, just added a fun color. The Loxsmith was what I expected, classic and simple. There was no storefront but the signs leading to it and the Google map directions made it easy to enter the building and find the stand. We arrived shortly after opening and I ordered the Mexican egg sandwich on a lightly toasted everything bagel with the option of adding the jalapeño schmear for $1. Wow. Service: very friendly and attentive at Schmear. I've ran in to some POS's at Spread. Food: GREAT. I love the customizable bagels too. I got my first bagel here today and regret nothing. I asked for a standard bagel with cream cheese and strawberries and mangos as fruit. I expected them to spread the cream cheese and sprinkle fruit and and making a sandwich out of it. Nope. These guys scooped heaping spoonfuls of strawberries and mangos and mashed it into the cream cheese. Super generous with the cream cheese and fruits too. The bagel was still fluffy and this was at around 1 pm. Not to mention, Schmear is also gluten and vegan friendly. Not that it pertains to me, but definitely a shout out to all those with dietary restrictions. I think it may be dairy friendly too. Schmear welcomes all! Very much on 36th Street, not Market. The staff is so friendly; I've never had so much fun ordering a bagel. My recommendation is to go all-out and get whatever toppings tickle your fancy. You start by picking your type of bagel, if you want to add an egg, and then you decide your cream cheese and what you want to put in the cream cheese. They mix the fresh ingredients into the cream cheese for you almost like a marble slab. It is so fun to make your own custom sandwich and there are so many options. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I didn't know what to pick but they were able to lead me to something. It was delicious! It's probably good I live out of town or I would be here weekly. Echoing off some of the other reviews, the employees here are very friendly, the bagels are great, and there is a good selection of bagels and spreads. The location is a little tricky, the official address states Market St, but the entrance is on 36th St. I couldn't find it at first when driving there, but then I remembered that their website stated "off 36th St." I got the Veggie Delight on a whole wheat everything bagel and it was delicious! The bagel had a good texture, good flavor, and they are very generous with the spread, so you won't be lacking any. They combine the ingredients to make your spread after you order, so it's fresh! Even though there was a lot of spread (don't get me wrong, not complaining, it was good spread!), I didn't feel heavy after eating it. It was a good way to start off my morning. There is a seating area with plenty of seats and my food was brought out to me as I waited for it -- so that was a plus!
