Wish I could give it zero stars. Had a reservation and it took them an hour to seat us. after being seated another 90minutes just to get drinks. Wait staff was very nice and food was good but extremely slow. If you want to eat in this century don't go here read more

Exceeded my expectations. All of the food was delicious, the presentation was gorgeous, decor was so fun. Perfect girls night and will definitely be returning to try every dessert on their menu. This Masion-Lotus restaurant is just open last week. Today is my first time tried the newly opened restaurant for lunch in Wayne. The service is terrible, not only their food is not good , but also waiting time is so long, after our first course "crispy spring roll " was served, we waited for 40 minutes for the rest of our ordered dishes after I complained to the owner once, and then a waitress, finally we were able to eat our food. I will never go to this restaurant again, peopler work there have attitudes, also their dishes are very pricy with poor quality. There wasn't one thing we didn't love about our experience. Warmly welcomed by hostess, bartenders, and our server, Mason. All four starters, entrees and desserts were spot on. I had the Wellness Bowl with salmon, mushrooms, green onions and glass noodles. The salmon was WAY over cooked, dry and tasteless. The rest of the dish was saturated in soy sauce and did not taste good at all. My friend had the Signature Vermicelli Noodles Bowl with shrimp. I tried her dish and found the shrimp to be over cooked, hard and tasteless. There was a lot of liquid in the bottom of her bowl, which we couldn't figure out what it was. Neither of ate even half of our meals. Service was very good except the wait person didn't wipe off our table when he brought the check. There was water from our glasses sweating and some spillage of salad dressing. The decor is outstanding, but I don't intend to return since the dishes we ordered were their regular menu items and very poorly done. read more

We ate here for my daughter's college graduation. It is beautifully decorated, the service is fabulous, the cocktails are delicious and the food is very tasty. You can tell that the owners and chefs and the servers take pride in what they are serving. This is a lovely night out. read more

What is the hype about? I was so excited to try this place. Service was very slow. We sat clearly ready to order while the waitress stood around. I was served undercooked chicken twice after sending it back the first time. The waitress was very rude about it. On May 29 Craig LaBan, restaurant critic for the Philadelphia Inquirer, wrote a review of Maison Lotus, which recently opened in the location occupied for many years by Margaret Kuo. His review was mostly negative and may have dissuaded some foodies from trying out Maison Lotus. I wrote restaurant reviews for 35 years, from 1982 to 2017, for three Main Line newspapers and the Chestnut Hill Local, and I have the greatest respect for Craig LaBan's extraordinary descriptive ability and knowledge of many cuisines. He is a great food writer, but I do not believe his opinions -- or my opinions -- are any more valid than the opinions of any other paying customer. We all have different taste in food, movies, TV shows, music, etc. Just because I like something does not mean that you should, and vice-versa. This is all to say that I and my three dinner companions last night disagree very much with Craig LaBan about Maison Lotus. We loved everything about it except that the entrees came out way too soon after the appetizers. First of all, it was a beautiful restaurant under Margaret Kuo and is even more so now. Just sitting there made us feel special. It is one of the most magnificent settings we have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. My banana miso old fashioned was one of the best cocktails I have ever tasted. The steamed vegetable dumplings, crispy spring rolls, pillow bread, walnut shrimp and classic stir-fry were all aesthetically presented and absolutely delicious. Our server, Brandon C., could not have been more efficient, pleasant and fun. He enhanced our experience greatly (even though he is a New York Jets fan). It is obvious that every staff member in the restaurant has been extremely well trained. Every one of them smiles, exudes an upbeat feeling and seems to be genuinely happy to greet you. Previously, our favorite Main Line restaurant was Azie in Villavona, owned by the same family that owns Maison Lotus and is now unfortunately closed. Maison Lotus is now our favorite. It was difficult to find a parking place, but I guess you can't have everything. The prices are not for everyone, but everything was very well worth it. We felt a natural high when we left Maison Lotus. Very highly recommended!!! read more

Lunch on a random Wednesday. Was so hopeful for this place, and maybe it's still in its "newness", but was hoping for more authentic tasting Vietnamese food. Cocktails were nice and exciting. Dumplings were cold, and very basic/nondescript, pork vermicelli bowl (when I finally got it) was bland and dumbed down for an American suburban crowd (mesclun mix?? Tomatoes??). Atmosphere felt more like a kitchen than fine dining and I think service staff - while nice - is still trying to figure things out...hoping they'll work out their kinks and move more towards a more authentic taste... read more

My husband and I came here early morning with a toddler and infant... staff was more than accommodating. decor is thoughtful and gorgeous (a nice visual vacation) only tried the cafe menu (which was interesting and delicious) miso caramel latte was the best coffee I've had in the suburbs in a long time read more

While the decor is lovely, the service is horrendous. The manager was not responsive to feedback and was abundantly rude and unprofessional. Our food was served without any plates or utensils. A beautiful disaster! Kudos to the interior design and build out of this lovely space but beware the food is absolutely atrocious. We have eaten at countless Vietnamese restaurants throughout the country, from budget friendly types to high end French influenced ones. We have never been served such poor quality food from beginning to end. We went with some of our server's recommendations for apps and missed on every single one of them. The wagyu beef was wagyu by technicality only, absolutely no marbling and zero flavor. The shumai were far from traditional and had an off putting spice incorporated into the oversized dumplings that were steamed but not tender. The summer rolls were again I suppose "an interpretation" but unwieldy lettuce forward and tasteless. The main courses continued the disappointing trend. Shaking beef was tough and over sauced. The standard by which all Vietnamese restaurants can be measured is the vermicelli bowl and once again it couldn't have been worse. The grilled pork was predominantly fat and too chewy to eat and the noodles were swimming in nuoc Cham sauce. I could go on but needless to say there wasn't a single good dish on our table for 4. When we mentioned our dissatisfaction to our curt server she appeared disinterested although did relay the message to the manager. She too was disinterested, untrained and unapologetic about the quality nor did she attempt to replace any items with something demonstrating the prowess of the kitchen. Perhaps it was her first day on the job. On a good note, my Barr Hill gin on the rocks was on point and a decent pour. My advice- Go for a drink and grab dinner elsewhere. read more

I am so disappointed this restaurant was so expensive and the food was horrible. Tasteless , overcooked and certainly not worth the money. The decor although beautiful bar, the rest of it was uninspiring. The people who work there were lovely so it's not their fault. We spent a lot of money on our dishes, and even when we told the waiter that we were not enjoying our meal he said oh I'll just tell our chef. But offered to do nothing like take it off our bill or offer us something different. The acoustics were horrible. Could not hear a thing my partner was saying. I'd even waiting to see what this place would be like after it took over the building of the former Margaret Kuo's. They've certainly put in a lot of work on the decor, my thoughts on leaf-patterned wallpaper aside. My request for a quiet table (away from the bar downstairs) was accommodated without issue. The menu looked attractive and I had little trouble choosing dishes to try, however from there things went downhill. Our waiter vanished for a solid 10 minutes and the dumplings I and my companion ordered were forgotten until we mentioned it when the waiter brought our main courses. The steamed vegetable dumplings (which were removed from the bill later) were fair, nothing special. The Pad See Ew was tasty enough, but nothing I couldn't get from other asian eateries besides the fact that the fried tofu was the size and texture of donut holes, and their 'signature dish' was unremarkable.
