Good service, great interior for hang outs Food was ok but not the best. Bingsu was too sweet. The chicken in the rice bowl was drier than average. We won't order the same things again but we might return for their jjajangmyeon

Bulgogi bibimbap, fried chicken, beef rice bowl!

Ok, first time here. Bamm!!!! Bulgogi bibimbap, beef rice bowl, and the Korean soy garlic fried chicken made our day. I love these small family business operations backed by obvious major-league cooking talent. If you want authentic Korean close to home, Mr. Korea is a convenient stop for your next lunch or dinner. You will get great service (they checked on us around 6-7 times during our meal) and a mother's home-style flavor. I'm sure I'll be back real soon!

    Tiny pieces of shrimp tempera

If l could l'd give this restaurant-0 l would. This is absolutely the worst food I had ever ordered, I'm a first time customer saw the rating on google but only found out how bad the food is the hard way. They are not selling what they advertised,We ordered 6 items and the total came up to almost 100 dollars, noddles, shrimp tempera, kimbap, dumplings and 10 pieces chicken wings. $15 beef brisket noodles is made of instant noodles, and there's no beef brisket in the noodles, its tiny pieces beef. The same goes for the seafood noodles, I don't see visible seafood it's also made from instant noodles, and the shrimp tempera looks like left overs from another table, when l took the takeout box l was thinking to myself what is it? Why it's so light? I opened to see 4 pieces tiny shrimp some veggies lying in the box, it's so light like 10 grams including the box in your hand and they charge for 9 dollars. If anyone goes to Asian supermarket to buy big raw shrimp, it's 6.99 a pound of shrimp. $10 dollars for the dumplings, they give you 5 small dumplings. the kimbap is spoiled, you can see closely from the picture the veggie on it already rotten, it has a sour taste. The fried chicken tastes soggy, it's old chicken wing reheated. We literally had to throw everything out in the trash. I don't understand how you can charge so much money from people by selling this type of quality food. Not to mention how horrific the customer service is, the older lady stand by the entrance when I first go in to see if the food is ready, I greeted her with a smile and she just stared down at me, my heart almost jump out of my chest from her she stare, she looked so scary and just stood by the entrance didn't make room for me to go inside get my food. From that moment I had a bad feeling about what's coming the next. They do not sell restaurant standard food but charge restaurant prices. I've called my bank for a charge back, but the result favors the merchant don't know why, I called the bank back reopen the case, if they favor the merchant again, Then l'm going to report to local health department. This absolutely robbery!

    Bland boring package-tasting saimin

We walked in and went straight to order some food. The lady behind the counter didn't greet us, smile, or even acknowledge us. We decided on kimbap and saimin and got the lady's attention to order. She didn't seem happy we were bothering her. We went to the adjoining room and sat down. There was no one else in the establishment. They did not have the AC on. It was hot. A smiling young lady came out with the food, that was nice. We didn't see any utensils so I went back to the order window to request some. One would think I was disturbing the person there for them. The worst part was the food. The saimin wasn't even a basic Shin's. The kimbap was just ok. For some reason it seems like we visited an entirely different restaurant than the one everyone else is raving about. We couldn't figure out the draw. It was sort of cute, ok - but that's about it.

Fried chicken and jajang dukbokki. Sorry, we ate a lot of it prior to picture.

Food, service, and ambience were awesome. They moved next to Songsan and have added a lot to their menu. Everything from jajang dukbokki (for those who can't eat spicy) to tuna kimbap to fried chicken was delicious! Of course the mango bingsu was the highlight!

Omg I LOVE this little gem. I'm a huge fan of Korean fan and to find a place that sells kimbab is a huge win. The snack varieties are off the charts too. I will be back next weekend, and make it here every chance I get. Great customer service and the food is really good! I got kimbab, and some sweets.

I love Mr. Korea. I always get the bulgogi kimbab (which is pictured). Great service, clean restaurant, and friendly staff. Highly recommend.

After seeing such rave reviews, my partner and I decided to stop by for some grub. Unfortunately didn't have as great of an experience as the other yelpers. Upon entering an empty store, we weren't greeted which set the tone for the rest of our visit. After making it past all the stationery items and souvenirs, we finally got to the menu and decided on the rose tteokbokki, tuna kimbap, a sparkling lemonade and a can soda. Just these 4 things came out to a whooping 50+ dollars. Adjacent to the convenience/souvenir section and the kitchen, is a dining area with about 4-6 tables. Food took about 10-15 minutes and after trying a few bites both my partner and I found the tteokbokki and kimbap to be underwhelming. Nothing to write home about and definitely not worth the hefty price-tag. We had some leftovers so I asked for a take out box and when I said thank you, I was ignored. Not a big deal but I found that to be a bit off putting. Then my partner went to ask for a bag, and again was ignored when she said thank you. If the service alone wasn't enough to not come back, the food and price are two reasons we for sure won't be returning.

Stumbled across this cute place by accident with a few friends, and I'm so glad we did! We initially were drawn to check this place out because we saw that they sold a bunch of cute items and K-pop goodies (pens, stickers, notepads, etc), but we then realized they also serve Korean food. My friends and I had just had lunch so we got the mango bingsu for dessert -- it was really refreshing and had a perfect ratio of toppings to shaved ice! Will be back to try out the food next time :)

Our family is Korean and we're constantly disappointed by Korean food in the Philly area, most especially in the burbs. We also own a Korean restaurant so... we're pretty picky. That being said, the boon-shik style food here is very good. Boon shik style food is more comfort food and not formal dishes. It's a simple menu but they have all the basic categories of boon shik food that we get cravings for. My favorite was the ttuk-book-ki. Great flavor. Fried chicken also is worthy of a shout out. We also terribly miss bing soo (Korean shaved ice) and now there's a place in the burbs that make it! Nice find and we're definitely coming back here. You need to blast some K-pop and give this place a try.

Everything was delishish and service was great! Ive been wanting to come her for a while. Pic was taken during meal which is why everything is eaten lol

I took it with a grain of salt, because 12 year olds are not notorious for their discerning palate. He was kind enough to bring me a menu, and off we went! We ordered (5) wings to start (student loved them). They were good--have had better. I ordered the cheese steak, was piping hot when we picked it up, a respectable amount of meat and extra cheese as ordered--very good. My husband ordered the Curry Goat. It was excellent. Tender pieces of goat (on the bone, think small little riblets) with a flavorful yet not too spicy curry sauce, rice and bean mix and excellent fried cabbage. The ratio of beans to rice was a tad low, but still very good. It is an unassuming storefront among row homes, neighbors hanging out on stoops and such were friendly and welcoming. We will be back!

It was amazing! I couldn't stop thinking about it the next day, so I had to come back for lunch! This time I tried the oxtail, and curry goat. My favorite was the Jamaican jerk chicken, but the Oxtail and curry chicken were very good as well! I wasn't a big fan of the goat, but it had nothing to do with the cooking though. Just too many little bones in it. Loved the beans and rice! Probably the best I've ever had! Great find, will definitely return!

It is in the site of the former Acme, and before that Superfresh, in Gladwyne. However, the store is totally expanded and renovated that you can not tell it it is the same location. It is cleanly lit and there are a ton of great options. Upon walking in to McCaffrey's, you are greeted by fresh flowers, has a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables and dressings and sauces. As you explore the store some more, you will find the butcher section selling fresh meats, the bakery section with fresh baked goods and the hot food sections. They also fresh sushi and soup. A ton of great items! The bakery section had a couple of Phillies themed cupcakes, which I loved. I had to pick some up. Let's go Phillies!!!! There is also a little coffee shop with coffee, gourmet drinks and pastries. A nice little option. Across from the coffee shop, is the alcohol section, which seemed to have a number of options for adults. There is both checkout with a worker and self-checkout. I like that, so you have both options depending on how much you buy. McCaffrey's is definitely on the more expensive side compared to other options like Acme or Giant. However, most of the food here is gourmet and healthy, so that makes sense. Altogether, McCaffrey's Food Markets is a great new addition to the Gladwyne, Lower Merion and Main Line areas.

This is…read morenow the second time I've raised the same concern, and it's honestly becoming very frustrating. During my visit, I saw a meat department employee wearing his store smock go directly into the restroom. From a hygiene and food safety standpoint, that's very concerning. I brought it to the manager's attention, and while he said he would "say something," there didn't appear to be any follow-through. The employee came back out still wearing the same smock, and nothing seemed to change. What makes this worse is that this isn't the first time I've mentioned it. When customers take the time to raise legitimate concerns--especially involving food handling and cleanliness--it should be taken seriously and addressed immediately. On a personal level, situations like this are stressful, especially for those of us who are mindful of health concerns. You expect a certain standard when shopping for food, and right now, that confidence just isn't there. For a store that promotes itself as high-quality, I expect better hygiene practices, better management response, and better accountability.
