So yummy! Super cute place in LoHi on the corner of Central and 18th. Long side note: We walked in and were met by the rudest host. I am never completely deterred by rude hosts- although I will tell everyone about it- because I want to give the place a shot over the rude entry person. We said we would sit at the bar and when I asked him if we could take menus with us (hosts wont seat you or walk with you if you are sitting at the bar) he told us no, he would not give us menus because we would get them at the bar. Not so much. No menus at the bar. The bartender was on a brief break, so we sat there for 5 min. without looking at a menu. HERE is where the 4 stars come in. The bartender, Logan, made everything better. Finally, got us menus LOL and walked us through it all. Recommended drinks and eats. The food here is incredible. Went here for brunch and it was a nice time. I had the egg toast thing which was yummy and a good portion. I thought the amount of duck prosciutto was way too little and strange. Came here for lunch in the middle of the week with a co-worker. The decor and ambiance is very chic and welcoming. The lunch menu also offered brunch which was a nice addition to the offerings. I got an oat milk latte to drink, which had great flavor and the duck hash, also very tasty. Lunch time brought many guests in and would imagine dinner is equally as busy-- reservations are probably a good idea. They even put up with a visiting friend that isn't as funny as he thinks. * Decent spread of enticing options. * The papardelle pasta was perfectly cooked al dente and I would guess made in-house. The wild boar was less present, but made for a good dressing for the pasta. Of the two appetizers, three main courses, and three deserts it was my favorite. CONS: * I think a nice physical menu would elevate the experience. * All of our food, while tasty, was a bit too charred. Buns for the boat and beef burger, the fries, the roasted suckling pig are a few examples. * The ceviche was good, but underwhelming. * The octopus was tender and delicious, but there was a notable hint of something fishy inconsistent with its preparation. I would usually void dishes with such a smell, but figure it may have been a sauce with a fish stock base. All in all, I would visit again. Cute brunch spot in the LoHi area! Visiting friends this weekend and it was the perfect place to grab brunch. Light and airy with both indoor and outdoor seating options. Brunch was delicious- I had their omelette (which changes every day) - large chunks of hickory bacon and the veggies/cheddar were delicious! It was also VERY large - think half a dinner plate at least. It came with a side salad that looked pretty basic but was amazing. Light oil dressing and a touch of salt to bring out the flavors! I know I love this restaurant for dinner and after visiting for brunch I also think it's a great spot for breakfast. The only tricky thing is to decide what to order, everything is so tempting. Service is attentive and the food delicious. The place was very busy on a Saturday around lunch time, luckily we were there close to 1pm and some people were leaving, otherwise we might have been out of luck. Next time I'll make a reservation. I have mixed feelings on this place. I think the space is beautiful and I was super excited about the menu but I think the prices are currently too high for the quality and rushed service we received. They were short staffed on a Saturday afternoon and we were reminded of that each time our server rushed by half listening to our request as we tried to flag him down / half giving us the "in a minute" finger and not circling back, which was pretty rude. We got friendly service from the young man dropping off our food and resolving the items our server missed. Despite our early brunch, they had already ran out of several menu items we had already ordered. (Or they just didn't have the staff to make the Dutch babies, brûlée grapefruit ) Our table of 4 ordered several cocktails, Breakfast Carbonara, burrata, chilaquiles, soft scrambled eggs, pancakes, and oysters. The winner was the breakfast carbonara. The others looked delicious and were plated nicely but nothing we would order again. The chilaquiles were not good. The specialty cocktails were pretty bland and weak but the bloody Mary's were great. I do understand the staffing shortages and I think if they could get fully staffed and trained and with a few tweaks this place could be amazing. I would consider giving them another shot in a few months for dinner vs brunch. read more

The Bindery is the perfect place for a business breakfast. I've actually made arrangements to meet with clients/vendors three times over the last couple months here. Parking is easy to find, the space is gorgeous and overlooks downtown Denver and the food and staff are amazing. So basically a win on all counts. I almost always get the walk in the woods breakfast burrito. Coloradans love our breakfast burritos but this one is elevated a notch and offers a perfect vegetarian option in the morning. Wow... such a decadent food experience! Honestly, the food and ambiance were definitely 5 stars however... the service, although hilarious in how bad it was had to bring it down. I came with a friend for Saturday brunch and the food really was excellent. The restaurant was busy but not terribly, there were plenty of open seats. Our service was unfortunately not the best... not sure how stoned he was but he forgot one of the meals, never checked on us and the check... oh man... took a bit, lol. I started with an OJ Mimosa and my friend had coffee. The mimosa was delicious, not overly juicy and the juice was fresh. My friend said the coffee there was delicious as well. For food, I had the bad baby Dutch baby pancake which was decadent and extremely savory to say the least. My friend had the La Emabelle... whatever that was, lol and she loved it was well. The Dutch baby was extremely rich and although I probably wouldn't order it again because the custard and butter, etc was just too rich it really was so delicious and completely worth trying at least once. I'd never had anything like it and again, so rich but beautiful and delicious. We also ordered some chocolate croissants to go which were again so rich, buttery and delicious. It really was such a lovely experience but our service was so terrible. I am fairly certain our server had some of the best weed CO has to offer as he was forgetful and completely out of it. We ordered our food... 20 min later he came back to check he had my friends order correct - he did not. Got that fixed, we sat and finished our drinks................ A while later........... he came back to see if we wanted refills........ thank you, finally... Food comes out, mine is correct although I do think it may have needed to cook a few min longer as it was very much a custard in the middle but who cares?! Decadent and delicious, lol! Just stick to the sides. My friend did get the entree she ordered however, without the side of bacon. Our server never once came to check on us after receiving entrees so when he finally popped by my friend just asked to make sure she wasn't charged for the bacon since we were basically done eating at that point. He immediately asked if she still wanted it but we were done so we just asked for separate checks..... Awhile later he returns with one check that includes an extra entree that we didn't order and definitely didn't receive :-/ OMG?!?! We tell him what's wrong and also again separate checks because one had coffee and the other has two mimosas so we don't want to split?! Awhile later, lol... he comes back with the extra entree off the check but still combined and says "he'll split it when he takes it back". OMG?!?! NO!!! We obviously don't trust him and again ask to see separate checks... awhile later.... Lol!! Big sandwich We stopped in at The Bindery for lunch. While the menu wasn't very long, they did offer one of my favorite sandwiches, Reuben. After spending a year hardly getting out, my wife and I are now fully vaccinated and are finally visiting family in Denver. It has been a long time since I've had a Reuben. Liked the place, bright and airy, open kitchen area, very good service. They have seating inside and out, too cold for outdoor seating this visit. Our food arrived in good time, the Reuben a huge sandwich. I've had big sandwiches where the corned beef or pastrami is stacked high, this one wasn't stacked high as much as it was wide, made on huge slices of bread. Looked great, the plating for all the food we ordered was very attractive. Where I struggled was eating my sandwich. Definitely homemade pastrami, this was not the uniform processed stuff. There was a good deal of fat with large hard to separate slices. My teeth and my grip on the bread all worked together trying to tear off bite sized pieces, not always that successful. Plenty of dressing to make the process messy, not nearly enough kraut to be noticed. Plenty of food. read more

3-star because the service was really good, thank you to the hostess (Saturday evening) and B (short for Brianna) for being so attentive and so sweet! You both made our experience memorable! The place was nice inside and very modern and hip. Good for a date or a little get together with your friends. I really wanted to like this place but most of the dishes were underwhelming and didn't have the flavors I expected to have. For starters, the Cacio + Pepe Caeser salad was fishy..and a little too salty. Almost tasted bitter. The Chilean sea bass was incredibly moist but that was about it. Everything that was placed on the plate had confusing flavors for my palette. The what looked like mash potatoes, tasted like they mixed spinach in it and was just not a good combination with the sauce they had. There were too many overwhelming flavors that didn't make sense for the dish. The spinach they had with it was also more salty than anything. The dessert was my least favorite because there was barely any flavor and it had a rubbery texture. Was very disappointed because everything looked amazing but the flavor was just not cutting it. However they did do pretty well on the autumn ceviche and the burnt onion dashi soup. The taste was flavorful and savory for the soup. Was very light and would highly recommend. Drinks weren't too bad, it most definitely helped chase down the food lol..highly recommend the milk punch drink! Well balanced with the ingredients they had. Pomegranate fizz was a little too bitter for our liking. Maybe it was just a bad day, but I definitely would give this place a chance..and the something else next time. read more

We went to The Bindery for my brother in laws birthday brunch, one of his friends made the reservation. We had a party total of 9. The location is cute but if you're not from Denver you may find it out of the way or difficult to navigate to. But regardless Denver local or visitor you'll find the parking frustrations. We parked in the garage but you have to read the spaces and don't assume the pull through is the same. We get there and just go to our table. Which I'm sad I didn't look around, I missed the bakery items. I'm not sure if they're on the menu or a separate order, although I do think you can order them from your server. Many of my party had been here a few times apparently. The menu sounded good and they had a few of their own takes on traditional brunch items. I had the mezcal bloody which had good flavor. I followed it up with their version of an espresso martini, also good flavor. In fact I preferred it to the bloody. It had an espresso flavor. Drink service does take time and factor in the larger party and a nearly full restaurant. Almost everyone ordered the carbonara. I really wanted to try the chilaquiles with shrimp. I did ask if we could do the shrimp instead of chicken but it was a no. I assume because of the one shrimp dish, they probably have the shrimp pre-marinated. I did order the shrimp and grits. Haha. It had a good flavor but the shrimp didn't pick up any of it or add anything to the dish. I honestly felt like the shrimp was a side. There wasn't any pre-marinated shrimp. The grits and creole sauce though was good. I checked with my partner who had the carbonara and they said it was ok. Our sever was super friendly and she seemed very positive. Our first time trying this place for a special brunch to celebrate our 1-year wedding anniversary. I had emailed ahead of time to inquire if they did anything for special occasions and received a non-committal "thanks for dining with us and we'll see you at your reservation" type email. Not the biggest deal but at least tell me whether you do anything or not. Once we arrived it was clear this has not been noted on our reservation as neither the hostess nor server said anything about it. Oh well. Onto the food, which I'm bummed to say, was completely underwhelming. We ordered the Emmabella and the duck hash - both way under seasoned and barely any hollandaise. I asked for more on the side (and they didn't charge for it which was nice) but still needed salt. As well as a side of the straw potatoes which also tasted as if they had no salt. The best dish was the burrata, which we split. Fresh, balanced, and flavorful. As another review mentioned, the service was off too. Nice enough but had to wait a long time to even get any attention once we were seated. We also barely got any refills on coffee or water, had minimal check-ins about the food or if we needed anything, and had to remind that we had ordered juice but never got it. Lastly, our bill was wrong - they had double charged us for a couple of items. They took it off, no problem, but was just a bad taste at the end of a mediocre experience. There are better brunch spots that are worth the money so we don't plan on coming back. read more

We originally came here for brunch a few weekends ago at 2pm and unfortunately they had closed down brunch early (supposed to go to 3pm) and were only serving their small plates so that's why this is a 3 star experience for me. I just firmly believe in adhering to your advertised hours. However we knew great things were happening in this kitchen so we gave it another go on a Thursday afternoon. The service was exceptional. I had tried this 5280, the biscuit was perfectly baked and the roasted green chiles were a great addition to the dish. My boyfriend had the dish called "My Spanish Lover". It was packed with flavor and as someone who doesn't like a salsa verde, I was surprised that I really liked it. My boyfriend had their breakfast Manhattan which came with a delicious piece of bacon. I had the mimosa which is made with Cava, it really brought me back to our vacation in Spain. Overall it was a great breakfast but for $90 with tip I'd skip the weekday breakfast/lunch menu. We are really curious of this place so we will be back for weekend brunch and during dinner and I'll update after that!
