Although our server was great and very helpful, the kitchen was an absolute mess. My friend ordered a simple pasta of the day dish. Everyone's food came except for hers and they said they had to remake it because they accidentally put an egg on it. 20 minutes pass, they come back and say they have to remake it AGAIN because they burnt it. Then, after another 10 minutes and 4 guys working on this dish, they bring it out and the pasta isn't even cooked. With the pieces at this place, good food is expected so we were disappointed with the experience. read more

Met my friend for brunch and what a bustling experience! Parking is tricky and this spot is pretty trendy- make sure to have a reservation! Service was friendly and attentive. He had great suggestions for food and we were not disappointed in our choices! Mimosas were delish- we got pineapple and blood orange and our server was happy to bring us more juice for our bottle of champagne. I had the polish omelet and my friend had the Chilaquiles- both were yummy and I particularly enjoyed the horseradish cream to compliment the sausage-I do wish it would have come with a small side of greens to round out the plate. From outside you don't expect to walk into a nouveau upscale dining room. The openness is refreshing, the kitchen is on display and the patios extend the dining area to the busy downtown vibes! The professionalism of the culinary staff is evident by their silent execution of the dinner service. The server, Luke was expedient, professional and smooth! The menu is diverse and interesting. Nice to see some very different influences mixed together with such finesse. Every delectable bite was seasonally orchestrated to perfection. I especially enjoyed my Swordfish.The Sicilian style Puttanesca Sauce is light yet touches upon each classic ingredient so you sense its involvement without being overpowered by an array of aggressive ingredients. I can see why this restaurant is so popular! Great drinks and food with a very nice atmosphere. While a little pricey, the food did not disappoint. The portions are nice and large, so I was able to box up half of my meal and save it for later. I LOVE Bloody Mary's and really enjoyed their bacon Bloody. Oh (Dutch) baby! My friend wanted to go here for his birthday. We made a reservation and got seated early. Street parking is your only option so arrive early to get a spot. The ambiance was nice and calm, they played 2000 pop hits. The whole reason we went here was to order the Dutch baby. It says on their menu, "could take 40 minutes but worth the wait" so if you know you want it, order it as soon as you sit down. They offer two types of Dutch babies, a sweet one and a savory one. We got both :) While we waited we got some pastries from the front. I got a chocolate chip croissant warmed up and he got a chocolate pop-tart warmed up. The chocolate chip croissant was so delicious! Very flakey and the warm chocolate center was amazing! The chocolate pop-tart was good! Very chocolaty so perfect for a chocolate lover. The sweet baby was a traditional Dutch baby with vanilla bean rum and cream and fresh fruit. The fruit was blueberries. I didn't notice/see/taste the vanilla bean rum so that was a little disappointing. Normally if something is cooked with vanilla beans you should see black specs to represent the bean. It came with a side of syrup which helped when I ran out of cream. It was very eggy too. A little too much... more like a quiche. Honestly, might not order again but glad I tried it. The bad baby (savory) was so good! This traditional Dutch baby had cheese and ham! The cheese to ham ratio was good with every bite. The texture and temperature was good! I would get this one again. They were both so big I wish there was a way to do a half order but it's definitely a dish you want to share with a friend. I'm excited to go back and try their challah French toast! read more

This was my first experience at The Bindery and most of it was amazing but the one issue really left a bad taste (no pun intended). Overall the food was amazing. The menu is eclectic and varied with lots to offer for many tastes. I had a mocktail which was light and refreshing. We ordered the sweet Dutch baby pancake to share for the table and let me tell you, that was unbelievably delicious! I had the avocado toast, which was so fresh and flavorful. The bread was so good! It came with a wonderful salad also. My friend ordered the steak and eggs, with the steak ordered at medium. When the steak arrived it wasn't just rare, it was raw. Like had a blue hue raw. So we flagged down our server. He basically told my friend she was wrong and that it wasn't too rare. He clearly didn't want to give her another steak and she wasn't asking for another steak, just that hers be cooked more. He wasn't happy about it but he took the steak back. Moments later someone else brought her steak back. The steak had been cut in half horizontally and then thrown on the grill. However it was still raw and not even warm. This was a terrible way to fix an undercooked steak and really cheapened the whole experience. The restaurant is beautiful and in a nice location. But the service is not great. read more

Once upon a time, I would have highly recommended this restaurant. In the past few years, however, I've noticed that the food and service quality has declined substantially. After tonight's dinner, I'm never coming back. And I say never "coming" back, because as I begin writing this, we're still here waiting--just as we've been waiting for the past 35 minutes--for any server to check in with us. This is particularly unfortunate, as it has also been 20 minutes since my husband finished his entree and 30 minutes since I gave up on trying to eat my exceptionally tough, overcooked agnolotti with its curdled filling. It would have been the only meal I'd ever sent back in my life...if I'd had the opportunity to do so. Also of note: it took us an hour to get our pasta entrees after ordering them in the first place. And though that timeframe does include us eating a basket of seasoned fries (which were good) as an appetizer, we were sitting without any food for at least 40 minutes without any acknowledgement or update whatsoever. This is not an exaggeration. Now, as I finish writing this, I can report that we eventually gave up on waiting for someone to swing by after a half hour or so. We flagged down the manager to request our check, and I politely noted that something had clearly gone wrong with my entree (and that we couldn't get anyone's attention to fix it). He just shrugged, took the full plate of uneaten food away and charged us full price. Our server finally stopped by immediately after the manager took away our plates, and he edited the bill to comp my entree, which I appreciated, but it was all a bit too late by that point. I'm not sure what's going on with this place, but things have gotten progressively worse over my last few visits. I can't recommend it to anyone anymore. read more

This is for the Denver Airport location- Unbelievably rude and unprofessional staff. I stood at the hostess stand for several minutes while a waiter made direct eye contact with me multiple times and completely ignored me. I moved to the other side of the dine-in area--same thing. Several employees saw me standing there and not one person bothered to greet me, ask if I needed help, or even acknowledge my presence. Finally, I approached the barista to ask if I could be seated. Instead of helping, he snapped at me to go back to the hostess stand. I told him I'd already been waiting there with no response, so he aggressively led me over, grabbed a menu, and started to seat me. Then he stopped to talk to the kitchen staff, came back, and told me I couldn't sit because they were "too backed up" and food would take 15 minutes. When I said that was fine, he cut me off and said, "No, you're good, you can leave," in the most condescending tone possible. He literally refused to serve me and chased me out of the dining area. I was exhausted after a 5 a.m. flight and didn't have the energy to argue, but this level of disrespect was completely unacceptable. Not one staff member offered an apology or even suggested I order from the take-out side. I have never experienced such blatant disregard for customers anywhere--let alone at an airport restaurant where people are already tired and hungry. If you value basic courtesy and professionalism, skip this place entirely read more

The atmosphere was a little much for a Sunday morning brunch (extremely loud music) but the food was really good, at least for two of the three in our group. Two of us ordered the blueberry lemon waffles and they were some of the best waffles I've had in a long time. A great combination of flavors without anything overpowering or being too heavy. Woweeeee!!! This restaurant is my absolute favorite here in Denver!!! The staff is quite lovely, I live the ambiance and THE FOOD!!!! Wow! Chef Linda is soo incredibly brilliant! The way she puts the flavors together is masterful. This summer I got a fantastic watermelon salad, the borek and another dish (can't remember the name, sorry). Everything was soooo good and Chef Linda treated us like family. She'd gone to see a show that my co-worker and I were in, so after a few minutes in her restaurant, she recognized us! She was incredibly kind and very generous! The borek will always be my favorite!!! The other time I went, my friend and I ordered the Borek, the octopus, the scallop aguache, and the risotto! Wow! Overpriced and poor food quality are not a recipe for success. Came in for breakfast. The restaurant was not busy. When approached I asked for a table for 1. The "host" said "Is the bar ok?" I asked for a table, so no, I would prefer a table. Service was slow. I ordered an omelette, chorizo and cheese. $15, no starch, just a little salad garnish. This is for the Denver airport location... I had a long layover, when the hostess sat me down I let her know I had a while to wait. I was sat in a pretty area with a fireplace. I ordered an espresso martini that was tasty, and the server was quite nice. Ordered the cobb salad with steak, which was quite lovely as well. A bit strange that they do not have any steak knives to cut their steak, when I asked for one the server said they didn't have any (just butter knives). Weird for a place that serves steak. The part that rubbed me wrong was the server let me know she had to leave, so I cleared up my bill with her so she got the tip... But then I was told that I couldn't sit in the area anymore because they were "shutting it down". This was after I had just ordered a fresh drink... I don't understand why they would seat people in that area by the fireplace if they're only aloud to stay there for a certain amount of time... it totally changed the experience. And made you feel unwelcome from the customers point of view. I think this place is poorly managed, the vibes are weird. If you're kicking people out of a certain area of your resteraunt, please notify them before they sit to avoid the awkwardness that I endured. read more

My review is actually of The Bindery at DIA. Not sure if it's the same company but it was excellent. Unfortunately I wasn't hungry but my husband had the 5280 and said it was very good. I ordered fries which were amazing. I never thought I would be so excited about fries - they were special. The other thing we really enjoyed was the service. I wasn't wowed by the food here, everything was more bland than anticipated. It's a great restaurant pick for patio dining when the weather is warm out. The burrata wasn't very fresh, lacked in flavor, didn't get that ooze that you would expect after cracking into burrata. I felt like the cracked black pepper was overpowering. The Dutch pancake is overrated but not bad, it was light in flavor yet the taste of the egg wash was dominant at the same time. It was a sunny afternoon and the restaurant was full so service was off to a slow start but once they got going we got everything we ordered in a timely manner. Nice way to start Restaurant Week. The Bindery was busy on this first night so I was glad I made reservations. Got a nice seat by the window to overlook downtown Denver. Very filling menu with a wine pairing option that was reasonably priced. First course of asparagus with beef carpaccio was nice. The lamb oso buco was an enormous portion. I don't care for meat on the bone but the guajlillo sauce with this dish was very tasty. Best dish of the night - dessert. Lemon "was a cake and now dreams" did not disappoint. A flavorful dish of lemon curd with moist cake topped with meringue. I will go back just for this dish! read more

ANOTHER 10 VISITS: Bumping this to a five. This place has grown on me, and I am about to explain the trump card they just pulled. Their happy hour is a hidden treasure. I am a sports guy, and so is my wife, but we have some "white tablecloth" places over the years that we love and realize are the best HH in town. This is the new one. A) Service is always my #1. Hector is the best at this place, and he not only seated us, but bartended for us for a bit. He is everywhere. B) Why didn't we know about the HH? Because my wife works until 515. But, we had some time on a day off for her. C) Oysters WITH Cava at 3 for $9 for her. Killer price and taste. D) I got two sliders AND fries for $11 (add the aioli for $1 to dip them in). Killer. E) Craft beers at 2 for 1 at $6. Awesome. F) My wife had 2 for 1 martini's at $12. Incredible. Figure out a non-sports time, fellow sports fans. No TV's. Or, just let it go for an hour or two. I do. The food is amazing, Hector is awesome, open kitchen, open air environment with all of the large windows, and we love this place. We initially got hooked on it for brunch, but that hook has now expanded. Definitely recommend, and see you there. read more

Luke, our server, juggled a busy night but still engaged with us, ensuring everything was spot-on. Opting for the Restaurant Week menu with recommended wine pairings, I started with the heavenly Burrata paired with mustard greens and toasted bread--a flavor symphony. The Lamb Osso Buco Barbacoa featured a colossal lamb bone and melt-in-your-mouth meat, complemented by a delightful guajillo sauce and chickpeas--a winning twist on Osso Buco. I was really looking forward to trying this place, but the food and service just weren't on point. The space is beautiful, with lots of light, an open kitchen, long counter. Unfortunately, the outside space is near a busy street with lots of traffic. From the time we sat down to the first food arriving it was 50 minutes. The place was not busy. The check-ins from our waitress were not timely, although she did take one dish off our bill that I just didn't like which I really appreciate. They were either understaffed or just not coordinated. The food: The GRILLED SPANISH OCTOPUS was our favorite dish of the night. The combo of sweet and spicy flavors and the perfectly cooked octopus was amazing. The GREEN ZEBRA TOMATO + PURPLE PLUM SALAD was very disappointing. If you're leading with these ingredients, I expect they are the ones that are plentiful on the plate, there were just a few pieces of each, with a bunch of arugula and a glob of cold goat cheese, that could have been moose. It didn't come together and was overall a miss. The CHEESE BOREK was also a miss, it was soggy and wet inside. It really wasn't a true borek, but their rendition of it, which didn't work. For the mains, we got pasta. I got the RABBIT CANNELLONI, which for me was too heavy and creamy and the rabbit didn't stand out. The pasta was well-cooked, and there was some spice in the dish from the poblano, but overall it was way too heavy and too much cheese. Our waitress did take it off the bill when I gave that feedback. My husband got the EGGPLANT PUTTANESCA PAPPARDELLE, he said it was OK but forgettable. Simple dishes can be great if the ingredients shine and it comes together. This place definitely is a foodie place, they have access to great ingredients, and try to be creative, which Denver needs. The menu looked fun, so hoping to give it another try and also try brunch. read more

So yummy! Super cute place in LoHi on the corner of Central and 18th. Long side note: We walked in and were met by the rudest host. I am never completely deterred by rude hosts- although I will tell everyone about it- because I want to give the place a shot over the rude entry person. We said we would sit at the bar and when I asked him if we could take menus with us (hosts wont seat you or walk with you if you are sitting at the bar) he told us no, he would not give us menus because we would get them at the bar. Not so much. No menus at the bar. The bartender was on a brief break, so we sat there for 5 min. without looking at a menu. HERE is where the 4 stars come in. The bartender, Logan, made everything better. Finally, got us menus LOL and walked us through it all. Recommended drinks and eats. The food here is incredible. I got the avocado toast, which had quinoa with a curry oil basil as the base. O M G. My partner got the omelet of the day and raved about it as well. Don't judge a place by the rude host (es). Went here for brunch and it was a nice time. I had the egg toast thing which was yummy and a good portion. I thought the amount of duck prosciutto was way too little and strange. Also had some of he French toast which was yummy. The chocolate croissant in my opinion was just too oily. I had high expectations and thought it was good but nothing that blew my mind. Maybe will try dinner sometime. The free parking in the garage next door was really great though and so convenient. The service was overall good. Came here for lunch in the middle of the week with a co-worker. The decor and ambiance is very chic and welcoming. The lunch menu also offered brunch which was a nice addition to the offerings. I got an oat milk latte to drink, which had great flavor and the duck hash, also very tasty. Lunch time brought many guests in and would imagine dinner is equally as busy-- reservations are probably a good idea. Prices are on the higher end for the portions but, all in all good experience. read more
