In the middle of all the craziness with COVID-19 I decided to do a beer and cookie pairing to keep my occupied and sane. I've been staying at home, but was out of some of the beer I wanted to use. I went out for another errand and happened to pass by Cask and Craft. Hmmm...this sounds interesting. Plus it's a local shop, and I'm all about supporting local, particularly during this time. I pulled up Cask and Craft's website and was super happy to see the list of precautions they are taking to keep their customers safe. Some of these precautions include only 2 people in the shop at a time, use provided hand sanitizer when you enter, and even curbside pick up/delivery. Since I was sitting in front of the store, I figured I'd just go in, get what I needed, and quickly head home. I was greeted and asked to use the hand sanitizer upon entering - yes, thank you. I then explained from a distance that I was looking for a dark beer, preferably a stout. I was escorted to the back of the store and shown the fridge with all the dark beer. WOW! big selection. I had the choice of 6 packs, 4 packs, or mix and match. This was perfect for me because I needed 5 beers. I ended up selecting Jackie O's Java the Stout. When I brought up my 5 pack, the owner told me it was a great beer (one of his favorite dark beers) and that it was a solid choice. He was not wrong. This beer is awesome, and paired so well with my peanut butter cookie pairing. So good. I will definitely be back to Cask and Craft. Their shop is filled with all different types of wine, liquor, and beer. It's organized so nicely, and the shop itself has this comforting vibe when you walk in. I'm so appreciative of everything they are doing to keep customers safe and for the recommendations they give. read more

This store is located next to the Italian restaurant we went to eat. The staff named BB King made me feel like home. Watch out! I'll bring my pillow next time! The store staff practices social distancing and makes sure all customers use fh sanitizer provided at the entrance. Awesome! Never ever shop and touch anything with unsanitized hands. This is my favorite small wine shop in all of Denver (and I've visited most of them). The owner sources a ton of unique offerings, from the high end bottles to the low and the selection changes month to month. The specialists are all incredibly engaging and knowledgeable. This is a great shop for wine novices and experts alike. The specialists make thoughtful recommendations but aren't pushy about it. Wish other shops would take a page out of Cask & Craft's book! read more

While this may seem like a small wine shop from the outside, upon walking in you'll realize they have the most extensive and carefully selected variety of fine wines. Normally this would be overwhelming, because all my experiences buying wine from those big box stores (Molly's, Argonaut, etc.) have ended with the employee suggesting a bottle that has 95 points from Wine Enthusiast, which means they don't give a $h!t about you or what you buy. The owner of Cask and Craft, however, has an amazing system set up. Each bottle has a little hand-written description of the wine, AND (this is the best part) the color of the price tag is an indicator of its tannin levels. If I remember correctly, a green tag means smooth, a yellow tag means light tannins, and a reg tag means heavy tannins (or dry and bitter). How cool is that!? Also, for you beer freaks (like me), go build a six-pack from the beer fridges in the back room. My first reaction was, "Have I died and gone to heaven?" The prices are comparable to any local liquor store, so why not support this amazing business? read more

This place is great. Really simple and charming wine shop. Also, the owner is super friendly and helpful. My girlfriend and I have never had a bad bottle here. The beer selection, while smaller than what you'll usually see in liquor stores around Denver, is actually pretty top notch. The mix and match is a nice plus, too. My only gripe/complaint about this place is I wish they were open a little later, like at least an hour later. There have been a couple of times I've stopped by after 8 only to see they are closed. My bad mostly for not remembering the hours. So if you're going to come in, come in early, but you'll be happy you did. read more

The best little wine shop in Denver. We have been purchasing wine here for almost a year and every time the owner has a great little surprise for us. All the wines he brings in are from small vineyards. Whether we are entertaining a large group or just having a bottle of wine at home we have never disappointed! After driving by Cask and Craft a million times and wondering it was, my husband and I finally decided to stop in. Turns out it's a very nicely run wine/craft beer shop, with a great selection and a very personal feel. We're not huge wine drinkers but were pleasantly surprised to find a backroom fully stocked with single cans/bottles of beer so you can mix and match as you please. Mostly, what I love is being able to go somewhere and get a great recommendation from an owner who can personally vouch for the stuff he's selling. I definitely recommend this little spot! read more

Fairly new, only been open 4 months. An interesting approach to a wine and craft beer shop. Upon entrance there isn't the rows of various bottles but just a counter and sitting room and books listing and describing what is stocked in the back. Most of the time you either know what you want or spend a hour looking and guessing. I was very hesitant about the idea of choosing wine from a menu rather than browsing bottles, but owner and operator Mark made this extremely easy. He was attentive without being pushy. Cask and Craft is a simple bottle shop that feels and looks like a wine bar, but acts more like a high-end liquor store. Instead of picking a bottle from the shelf, you order from a "menu" and Mark, the owner, brings your bottles out to you. It's a friendlier, more personable way to buy wine and beer. Cool concept. I can't say enough good things about this wonderful boutique-style store! The layout is so fun: envision a ski mountain map with Greens, Blues, and Black Diamonds. Mark (the owner) has used this guide to appropriate wines by palate & price level. He does a complimentary tasting on Fridays and Saturdays, but even without trying the wine, he has never recommended one that I have not loved! He is always spot on.
