This place used to be amazing. My old review was 5 stars but I had a great technician and no issues. I was unhappy with my last service and received horrible customer service in return. The nail technician asked me if I liked my length AFTER she put the nails on, set them and removed the guides to create the nails. It was completely done.. How am I supposed to say no, make them longer at that point? I asked for a very specific nail design and asked are you able to do this nail texture I want, if you can't do this then I'll request something else. I was told yes she can do it.... No she could not. My nail design looks sloppy and she only did about half of what was requested and added on french tip where it wasn't supposed to be. Now I don't want to bash a whole salon because of one bad technician. I have gotten nails done there before that looked amazing. However, I reached out to them about being unhappy with my service and I was left on read for 16 hours. They offered nothing to fix the problems. I was only told they'll do better on my refill.. I guess they don't care about making their customers happy. What is my incentive to come back after such a poor response. Offer to do my design for free next time or a discount.. being told they'll just do better is very poor business practice. This is a business and you need to keep customers happy. So my advice to you as a consumer - be wary. You can take your chance going there, maybe your nails will look great but they don't care if you're happy or not. Spending $200 at a place that doesn't put value into customers is not a place I'm going to spend my money. You can go in thinking you're going in to have high class nails but they come out looking cheap and poorly done. read more

This establishment has declined drastically since relocating from Ontario. We were greeted with someone on the screen. You cannot call and personally converse with someone. They never answer the phone. This company has lost some of the BEST nail techs. I stopped by after a year or so ago, and I was blown away. This is one of my favorite nail salons. The place is very aesthetic and it's easy to book your appointment online. You can cancel up to 24 hours before your appointment, but if you don't, there's a charge to compensate the technician, which makes sense. The salon is clean, has a beautiful ambiance, and the technicians are polite. I've been here a couple of times and I know I can rely on this place to create the perfect design. This nails salon is located right above RedHead Piano bar in Rivernorth. It is an amazing nail salon. Clean and accommodating. I accidentally mixed up my appointments and arrived late but staff here still saw me and gave me the best service on a busy Friday afternoon. They're nice, friendly, and approachable. The ambience is relaxing with soft music playing in the background. The place is extremely clean, the staff used masks and gloves. Both times, I have been here, I have gotten gel polish done. Their quality of gel nail paint is really good. They're NOT aggressive with the nails, not over filing or cutting too much off when trimming cuticles which is very rare to find these days. The last time I got my nails done at this place, it lasted over three weeks with not one chip. I showed a design to my technician, she did an amazing job and even suggested some tweaks (which I loved). This time, I wanted lilac color and my technician even helped me pick the right shade and was patient throughout. I go every 4-5 weeks. What's different and nicer than other places is the this gel base they use, and when they redo your nails the sand that down but not your nail, so they can grow pretty long. Mine recently did have a lot break, I think they were just too long for my lifestyle. It always takes at least two hours, so even though they are expensive I think it's absolutely worth it if it their time and care. I love the easy booking and the whole experience, I always go to Posh after, if you haven't been, it's the cutest! It's easiest if you come in with an exact picture of what you want. The studio is right above Red Head Piano Bar and easily accessible by train or bus. I have had good experiences with on time appointments, and while the studio could be a little cleaner, I feel like the hygiene on the nails is pretty decent. There are many different nail techs working at once, but I would recommend going to the nail managers for a little increase in cost. Book online and book early because this place fills up quick! Easy online booking, directions easy to follow I was greeted warmly at the door & Anastasia did a wonderful job on my manicure. Her attention to detail was impeccable. From the luxury salon space (Ontario location) to my fave and the BEST nail tech there is, Z, but I had to come and leave a review on my recent experience at their new location on grand. Now I know times are hard but why yall move there? It's giving struggle, it's not giving the best and it's sure not giving luxury. If I'm paying over $100+ for my nails, I want to experience it in a suitable environment. Not a cramped shoe box. For #1. The parking situation is not ideal and yall know that. #2 yall wrong for that sign on that door below the graffiti that's plastered on the door. #3 you have to hike up 3 flights of stairs. At this price point and given the website advertises specializing in complex designs, I was deeply disappointed in my experience. Not only has the manicure not lasted even close to 6 weeks, the design I received looks nothing like what I requested (after being asked to choose a simpler design to start with, despite the elements of my original inspiration being consistently advertised on Instagram). Even my manicurist - who I will say was kind and detail-oriented for the cuticles - said the design did not turn out as expected but did nothing to remedy the errors. I would not recommend this salon to anyone in Chicago. The salon is also impossible to get in touch with - it took a week of reaching out via email, voicemail, and Instagram DM to receive a 1 sentence response that did not address my concerns. These were the WORST nails - I had an awful manicure here that has left all of my cuticles cut, bleeding, swollen, and painful! I contacted the salon the next day when all of my cuticles were in pain and even oozing, sent pictures, and was told my nails were just "sensitive" and all they could offer was 10% off my next service. I obviously will not be using this as I will not be going back. I am very disappointed in the response to my concerns. I told the manicurist during that it was hurting and noticed I had a few areas of bleeding but she shrugged and kept going. I have been coming here a while and of course, when the pandemic occurred, I stayed home but as I started going back the business seemed to have changed. It's the inconsistency in service as well as communication. I usually book my appointments in advance; sometimes they reach out regarding staff/timing changes but other times I come to at appointments and they are back up or they've switched staff so I end up with someone who is new or cannot do design as requested. Other times it's the greeting/customer service. Sometimes I am greeted and the staff will let us know the wait but other times, people are standing around waiting on a staff member to recognize someone & let us the wait. They will not respond to texts/emails but some times I get lucky and someone respond. Some staff are nice then others. They do good work & other a variety of services but with their new strict cancellation policy, you think they'd be better customer focused... you will never know how the appointment will go lol. read more

I did not come into this salon asking for something extravagant, when it was my first time visiting. I kept it simple, so if I was let down it wouldn't been super disappointing. I have seen a ton of negative reviews about this salon. I would only hope for the owner of the salon to take these concerns into consideration so business isn't driven away. I personally did not have a bad experience. Like i said before, IG is what let me to them. If I would have looked at the reviews before hand, I wouldn't have gone. Down side; Reason for 4 stars. I was not greeted when I walked in. There where two techs with guests in the salon and no one said anything to me. I sat down and waited until I saw someone I could ask about my appointment and let them know that I had arrived. Cost is a bit pricy compared to other salons in chicago. I paid $125 for a no chip manicure and Pedicure. If you like to soak your feet during a pedicure, this is not the place for you. Your feet are perched up on this stool for a good duration and can be a bit uncomfortable. Parking is not very easy to find. Street parking cost me $14 for a little over two hours. I am unsure what the garages costs. But that is expected with chicago parking. Other than that the salon is clean and appealing. A lot of colors to choose from. Bait and Switch...I made an appointment for the $89 nail service and I was charged $109 without notice because the originally assigned nail technician called off, which I was not aware of this change. I was assigned a master technician, without my permission. This information was shared after my nails were done. Save yourself the disappointment. Don't go there! I read the reviews and figured, that wouldn't happen to me. Perhaps they just had a bad experience. Don't be like me - read the reviews. Notice a pattern? I spent 4 hours getting my nails done and pedicure. The set was lumpy, the design was so tragic I ALMOST cried. Tragic even after sitting there for hours while the nail tech reassured me she could do my design - a simple black tip French with a white design. The work done was extremely sloppy. Inevitably another tech took over, and started the process over, but I still felt broken hearted given the wasted time and the rollercoaster of emotions I went through. The pedicure was also awful. I won't even go into it - but the dry pedicure at least at this place is not worth the hype. Also, my big toenail was chipped and the tech put a piece of PAPER TOWEL over the split - she claims this was the 0NLY way to ensure it doesn't split again. I didn't know any better, and she was supposed to be the expert. My toes ended up TRAGIC - lumpy, awful. Never will I EVERRRRR come back to this place again. Oh and I witnessed another guest arrive 5 minutes past the grace window. They charged her ~$20 and didn't allow her design services, she had to choose a plain color because they didn't have time. I got the first available nail technician, Masha, Masha, Masha did my work and she was detailed and precise. I was not disappointed. I did get the pedicure too. If you love the spa feeling of soaking your toes this is not for you and it is pricey, I was happy with my pedicure. All in all it was great! I'm hoping I will get 3 weeks out of it. So Julie asks me to please come back in a hour. I understood that this wasn't her fault and it may have been a system error. So I say ok... I will come back in a hour. I come back in a hour and NO ONE greets me at the door. I wait awkwardly waiting for someone to greet me and no one did. Even the clients felt uncomfortable and looked around like ... is anyone going to help this girl??? So I walked up to Julie and let her know "hey! I'm back and I can wait for you over there till you're done" and she says ok you'll be next! I wait 15 minutes and go on my phone as I wait. I look over and Julie is starting on ANOTHER client! When she told me I'd be next?!!!!! I walk over and say hey what's going on??? You told me I'd be next. She then tells me don't worry the nail tech next to me will take care of you. I look over and realize the other nail tech is cleaning up her station so I say ok and sit back down on the couch. I wait 10 minutes and I realize the other nail tech went on lunch break and didn't come back!!! So I walk up and say what's the hold up? Are you guys going to attend me or no? If you're not why aren't you being vocal and not waste my time? Julie gets up and goes to the back. The other nail tech did not know I was waiting for her this whole time!!! She asked me to come back in 2 hours because she has a client coming in soon!! I say of course not! I will not come back a 3rd time today. You've wasted my time enough. I then ask for a manager and they say she's not there. At this point I'm so frustrated and angry that I didn't want to take it out on them. So I say please just get me a manager. First off I'd like to say my nail tech was super sweet and kind I had no problem with her but the no chip service I got was not very good compared to what I've gotten before. I was cut on my cuticle while she was cleaning my nails and it wouldn't stop bleeding for a bit. Second, this business is supposedly known for getting close to the cuticle and one nail isn't all the way to the cuticle. I had to ask her to paint the tips of my nails so they weren't left with nothing on them! While she was painting on the first clear coat I put my hand into the UV light and the polish started to BURN a little while in there then the burning stopped after 10 seconds. I have only ever experienced this burning while I was visiting my VILLAGE in Europe when I got my nails done by a beginner in her house. I knew in the village they wouldn't have the best products but to come to a higher end salon in Chicago and have the same burning sensation was beyond me. Lastly I drove an hour and a half to this salon just because this salon told me on their Instagram that they were able to do marble designs and I was LIED to. I sent them my nail tech and time and they still told me this design was possible. I left the salon with plain nails and very disappointed as these were supposed to be my 21st birthday nails. Almost 2 hours there and I left with plain red nails which I could have gotten anywhere. I even tried compromising with other designs and she couldn't do foil or holographic even though their business is called Best Nails & DESIGNS! Their Instagram tricks you into thinking everyone at this salon can do designs but obviously you have to check who you get. I still paid 20% tip and the full price for decent no chip even though I was not able to get anywhere near what they claim to post on their Instagram. I've been visiting Best Nails for about a year and a half and have always had a great experience! Previously I'd always gotten dip powder at random salons, but decided to give Best Nails a try after learning about their strengthening gel overlay via their Instagram. The gel overlay is not only better for my natural nails than dip powder but after getting it for about 18 mos straight my bails never broke (including the march-may shelter in place period!) The gel overlay always helps my polish stay on for 5+ weeks! Every tech does a wonderful job, but I typically see Zhanara who is basically the queen of nail art. We've tried everything from hand painted designs to foils, chrome powder, stamping, watercolor, cateye and airbrushing all with amazing results! i get complements everywhere I go. I don't think they care though because people are still willing to pay $99 for a manicure before tip. I could write a list of issues but it's not worth my aggravation. I had an appointment and I received a text if we could push it back 20 minutes before the original time. I said ok and when I arrived, I waited 40 additional minutes. My manicurist, Anastasia, was not pleasant at all. No apology for the wait or anything. She tried to rush me with picking out a color and the rushed the service. Other clients around us had the courtesy to wash their hands but she just grabbed a disinfectant wipe for my hands. I honestly was speechless. She really dug into my cuticles which it was painful. I told her she is hurting me and she said that she isn't and didn't stop going so aggressively. I kept having to take my hand back letting her know she is hurting me. I tipped her 20% since I believe it the base line for a service but I don't think she deserved it. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the nails did last forever.
