It was delicious, The tortillas was topped with Black Bean spread with over medium eggs covered with a nice tasty rancheros sauce. I added Chile verde and the pork chunks were nice and tender with a flavorful but mild Chile verde sauce. I would highly recommend having breakfast here. The staff here is very friendly and attentive. I recommend the Turkey Sandwich but swap the bread for the toasted ciabatta bread that the Bakersfield Best Burger usually comes on, it's light and easy to bite into with slightly crisp ends. Add fresh California avocado for $1.00 and you are set. Each item "from the barn" comes with a side. I highly recommend Sweet potato waffle fries and the waitress let me in a special secret side: honey. I will never go back to asking for ketchup or ranch for my sweet potato fries. This was like eating desert. Soooo good. read more

What a pleasant surprise. Tucked away in the courtyard of the Bakersfield Racquet Club is a delightful and yummy treat. Diverse menu, terrific food and a wonderful staff. The owner is for the most part a one person show, waiting and bussing tables while cooking and serving. She was pleasant, attentive, informative and on time with everything. We seated ourselves, didn't wait long for menus to be delivered and drink orders taken. She quickly returned with our drinks, politely answered all of our menu questions, took our order and was off. Our food arrived in a very reasonable time and was great! Three of us, a burger with really good homemade onion rings, a turkey and avocado sandwich on a ciabatta roll with sweet potato fries and a nice salad. All were excellent. I had the Zucchini Grillini w sweet potato fries and it was fantastic. I would highly recommend it to everyone. Customer service was amazing. The lady taking my order was nice, recommended plates, offered a sample of their homemade clam chowder, and she even offered to cover my drink if I checked in on Yelp. OMG! Everything is SO Good! I don't know what kind of magical secret ingredients they had to sell their souls for, but no matter what we get its always super tasty. Last week my son had the almond French toast w fresh fruit and I snuck a few bites- super moist and just enough syrup and butter to make it great without turning my 5 year old Into a crackhead for an hour. Yay! I had the brisket and hash. So flavorful. Not a burnt potato piece in the bunch, like I usually see at breakfast places, but each piece was clearly done and evenly textured like hash should be. And just the right blend of flavor on the brisket. Tender and perfectly seasoned. And as if that's wasn't enough, two perfectly cooked eggs were piping hot on top! I totally broke those yolks and let them drizzle their goodness all over- unifying all the favors in the most delicious way. Ommmmmmm!!!!! Today, if they are still offering it, I know my husband will try the sausage gravy and biscuits & I can't wait to see what they've got for me and my son. Overall, a great farmers market find! The only thing I would recommend would be to add some green onions to give the plate some color. The biscuits and gravy were a real home run (or should I say match point?). We ordered a side order initially but when we tasted the gravy and light and fluffy biscuits, we had to immediately ask for a second order. Was nearby and found this place on yelp. This place is a hidden gem, you enter the Bakersfield tennis club through a shady courtyard where you can sit and eat, and walk straight up to the restaurant. Unfortunately I made the mistake of assuming this was a food truck. Generally when something is described as a pop up restaurant that is because they're mobile. But this is an actual sit down establishment located at the Bakersfield Racquet Club. I am being generous with my review because my son and I arrived 15 minutes to close time. As I already mentioned, I assumed this was a food truck and we would order at the window and be on our way. I would have never shown up that close to closing had I known it to be a dine in. Strike 1: there are no signs indicating this is the Angry Barnyard so it is very hard to find. All of the signs call this place Match Point Grill. I assume that is the requirement of the building, but that's crap and if I were the owner of the Angry Barnyard I'd find a new place to conduct my business. Strike 2: our server was very rude and I am sure it is because we came in so late. I understand her situation, but being passive aggressive and rude to your customers is not an appropriate way to handle things. I immediately recognized her frustration and asked her to give us our food in to go boxes. I would prefer eat outside in 100 degree weather than deal with someone's career choice woes. Strike 3: they were out of tri-tip. Again, I came in late, but that is a bummer because my son ordered a French dip that may have been amazing with tri-tip, but came with roast beef instead and was sub par. Strike 4: the other food wasn't great either. My veggie panini had soggy vegetables and that just ruins the entire sandwich. Most likely this is due to the reheating of already cooked veggies and that's too bad because it takes 7 minutes to freshly cook some zucchini and red onion, but makes the food 1000 times better. Particularly the aioli sauce on the barnyard style fries was not good. It wasn't a true aioli sauce, but an olive oil mayonnaise with some lemon. Other than that the toppings were good. But, the fries themselves were not. The price here is good, we walked out with 2 to go orders for $20. I suppose if you are already at the Racquet club and want to grab something to eat this is alright. However, I won't be going out of my way to return. There are excellent eatery's in Bakersfield and this just isn't one of them. read more

I had a couple of good experiences here, but they have some kinks to work out. The BBQ beef sandwich they had on special was great. One of the best I've had in town. The homemade potato chips were also great. On my second visit I tried the turkey sandwich with a side of potato salad. Way too much mayo in both, and I'm a lover of all things mayo. I felt like I had eaten a whole tub of Best Foods half way thru the meal. Hopefully they can ease off a bit on the mayo. The third trip in I had the chicken sandwich which was the special. Again, way too much mayo. I had to scrape it off the bread. I ordered the pasta salad as a side. The pasta was nowhere near cooked enough. I could not even chew it. The pasta needed at least another 5 minutes in the water. Disappointing because the dressing and veggies were tasty. Hopefully they'll work to correct these types of problems and fine tune their offerings. There have been so many vendors in & out of this spot. My office orders out every Wednesday and we were sick of our usual places, we ordered from here and the Barnyard Style stuck out with a lot of us ladies! You can get your french fries or sweet potato fries "barnyard style" which is garlic, parmesan, and parsley. The Barnyard Style French fries come with a garlic lemon aioli and the Barnyard Style Sweet Potatoes come with a Chipotle Aioli! So so good. Me and a friend was looking forward to a delicious breakfast. When we arrived it wasn't very busy so we were in luck, or so we thought. The room was small so it was easy for staff to see the patrons. After being seated we were immediately asked if we wanted a beverage. The menu was small but had some favorites and some specialties. We ordered our food but it took about 20-25 minutes to receive our order. The food and drinks were served on styrofoam with plastic silverware. My friend ordered bacon and eggs the hot food melted holes in the plate. Her hash browns were mushy and the eggs and bacon were a little over cooked. She asked that the biscuits and gravy be separate but they came to her opposite of what was ordered. I had the brisket tacos, they were tasty but they didn't offer additional salsa. It appeared that the staff enjoyed talking amongst themselves so we had to ask for our bill. No happy with the experience. Presentation, staff and food was lacking professionalism. read more
