This place is not horrible, but it's also not the best sandwich spot in Bakersfield. I want to like this place because the staff has always been so nice, but I just don't go for the sandwiches. The sandwich shop is located in a nice centralized location in Bakersfield. They have a good variety on their menu. My favorite on their menu has to be the chicken poblano soup. If you plan to dine in there's plenty of room for a big party or for just one. It's nice in clean inside. Parking is never an issue because they have a huge parking where they share with all the neighboring establishments. I don't see myself coming back and going out of my way to eat here unless I was meeting up w friends or family that wanted to come here. I've been wanting to try this place for a while now, and decided to come here since it's right behind my work. I asked for recommendations and the lady taking our order suggested the Grilled Chicken Pesto. I was also craving a soup, so I decided on the Tomato Bisque. The wait was a little over 15 minutes (a little long for a sandwich), but it was not too busy inside for lunch hour. It was actually pretty quiet. I tried the summer special, Chipotle Crunch Chicken. It was very good, the different textures from the moist soft chicken, the toasted bread and the tortilla strips. The veggies were fresh and blended perfectly with the chipotle sauce. They do offer a gluten free bread for people who have allergies or Celiac disease however, it lacks in quality. After the first bite it starts to disintegrate. After about 3 bites my wife was basically left hold the veggies and meat in her hands with the bread in a thousand pieces below on the basket. I won't be going in and ordering from this location on Gosford and Harris Rd anytime soon again. I went in there on a Monday around 11:35am and there was no customers inside. There was no customer service and looks like there is no organization either. There was a young girl working and an older woman not really doing anything. Finally placed my order a turkey 6" sandwich nothing fancy or add-ons just the sandwich at 11:40am and got my order until 12:03pm. The older woman looked like the manager or someone in charge and no customer service to any of the customers that were arriving and they were starting to all looking pretty upset too just like me. Employee working there only addresses me after he's done walking around the shop with incense while listening to a prayer. The prayer on radio was blasting full volume the entire time. The bread is freshly and perfectly toasted, and has a really good flavor. Both sandwiches were really good. My bbq beef brisket had a bed of coleslaw in it that gave it a nice balance of flavors, and bbq sauce is good and not overpowering. The cranberry turkey was also very good with flavorful turkey and tasty cranberry. Our only feedback for improvement would be to put a little more meat in the sandwiches. I don't understand, we were the only people in the store and they got my order wrong. The receipt even says ham. I don't think I'll be back and I don't recommend this business at all! I called them and explained what had happened with my order. They offered to remake the sandwich or give me a refund to my credit card.
