While the food here is delicious, it will likely be the last time visiting this location; I'll go to other locations instead because of an incident today. Having ordered my food and sat down waiting for it to be ready, I observed a man walk in to retrieve his his order placed by some other means. The lady gave the bag to him and he left. I continued waiting for my food and soon enough, it was ready perhaps 5 or so minutes later. As I was eating, that same man returned with bag in hand and proceeded to pick up counter advise he'd been given the wrong food. The lady seemed to peer into the bag and directed him to another bag. She began pulling items out of that bag as he grabbed his correct bag. She handed items to the wait staff as another woman entered and walked to that same pick up counter. Both the man and woman passed each other but what shocked me is that the few items the counter lady passed to the line staff were re-used and re-wrapped and placed into another bag with the remaining items brought back by the man. She took the bag and left. This is wrong. The man presumably went through the items to discover it wasn't his order and even if he hadn't, you have no idea what might have occurred with that food while out of their control. That entire meal should have been remade. Choosing not to do this reflects upon the training and standards of the company. Two cooks and a cashier all made the same choice to deliver potentially contaminated food to an unsuspecting customer. No thanks. I'll go back when all three have undergone sufficient training to understand this behavior and decision-making is unacceptable. read more

It was my first time trying. I stopped by at about 2pm on a Wednesday and it was pretty dead. The staff was friendly and the establishment itself was clean. The tables could accommodate about 4 people. They do have a few tables outside. As far as the food goes, my wife ordered the beef kabob bowl. The beef was cooked perfectly. It had so much flavor and the smell was to die for. It had the perfect amount of char on the outside which sealed in all the moisture and flavor. I had a fat belly with beef wrap. It was again, full of flavor. Just a little bit on the messy side. I definitely would not recommend attempting to eat it on the go or even at the office, as you might get dirty. When they finally put a Flame & Skewers near my house a few years ago, I was super excited. I absolutely love the food here. My favorite item is definitely the beef kabob. The beef is tender, juicy and very flavorful. My one biggest complaint is there's not enough grilled veggies in my sandwich haha. I absolutely love the grilled onions and tomatoes... sooo good! The grilled peppers are also really good. I'm a fan of their crinkle cut fries, but I'm always debating if I want fries or rice because both are flavored well. Every time I come to this location, there's never been any wait. They are really fast at this location. The other locations are pretty quick too, but I think this one is faster. The only problem is parking during rush hours. There's several other restaurants in the same parking lot, so sometimes it's hard to find somewhere to park. I find that the area is heavy on traffic too since it's right by Walmart and Sam's Club. Staff is always super friendly and this facility always looks clean. After customers dine in, I saw their workers clean up the tables promptly. Staff wears masks too. They have a safety guard for protection at their register now and the customers seem to be keeping their distances. Last but not least.... I never have room for dessert, but I always wish I did. My most recent visit I decided to grab some baklava since the one they make here is one of the best in Bakersfield. I was caught off guard by how small the portions were for $2.95. Not pricey at all, just wish it was a little bigger. Will I get it again? More than likely I would even if it was pricey. It's worth it! Make sure you grab some when you come. It's tough to find decent mediterranean food in most towns. Flame and skewers is about the best quick service type food I've ever had. The Shawarma and Kabobs are delicious, but shawarma runs out is your show up near closing time. The plate meals are light and filling. I like the new location in SW area so I don't have to drive so far. We often order takeout from this location and also another Bakersfield location, they've got great options, good food and it's always handed over with a smile! Vegetarian options especially are SO good! Definitely a recommendation if you like Mediterranean food. read more

The worse customer service at this location and the way they prepare the food is disappointing to say the least! The chicken bowls I ordered were drowned in liquid from the dressing they add, so much that I just could not enjoy eating my food. In the many times I've order flames, I've never had bowls that were so full of dressing making me throw half of my food away. Plus, the people only added two bowls to my bag rather than the three I paid for and when I called I was told I didn't wait for the third after they had called me to give me my food. They were rude over the phone and in person. Never again do I go to this location! And not even sure that I want to return to that restaurant at all given the bad experience. read more
