This was my first trying this location and tbh it isn't bad but it's not great either. The inside was not fresh, as if the ac was going out. It was so packed for being Mother's day. The wait time was horrible. The chicken was dry 7/10 but has good flavor, it is dry and doesn't come with grilled veggies. The hot sauce has good flavor but isn't spicy 6/10. The cucumber salad is refreshing 9/10. The potatoes with garlic sauce were something I haven't had but were a 8/10. The beef pita was SO DRY, HARD and didn't really have any flavor 3/10. The rice was cooked perfectly but didn't carry much flavor 6/10. The chickpeas salad was good 8/10. The side bread was shockingly delicious 10/10. My husband and I had to sit outside which felt fresher than being inside. I wouldn't mind having their food again, but I'm also not going out of my way to have it again.
We shared the beef kabab plate which came with rice, garlic potatoes, pita and two sides. For the sides, we got the roasted cauliflower and hummus. The food was delicious. The steak was tender and seasoned well, I loved the rice. Service is hard to rate because you couldn't hear them, and they couldn't hear you when you tried to order. The dining area was not clean and there were flies everywhere inside, we had to fight them off the whole time we were eating. Not just one or two flies, they were everywhere. The food was so good, I'm sure we'll go back, but we will get it to go.
I went to Sultans for the first time for dinner and had a great experience. I ordered the Kafta platter, which came with rice and a choice of two salads or dips. I chose the cucumber salad and hummus. Everything was tasty, and the portion size was very generous. The Kafta was freshly made and flavorful, the hummus was wonderfully creamy with great flavor, and the rice was yummy as well. Service was quick, and the staff was friendly. The restaurant had indoor and outdoor seating options. It was busy but we still found a place indoors to eat. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal and would definitely go back to Sultans again!.
Is the food here amazing? Yes! Is the service terrible? Also, yes! I have been here a few times now and both times there have been somewhat of a line of people waiting for their food after they have ordered. The people behind the counter, do a great job trying to help everyone. However, there needs to be some kind of order when it comes to people waiting for their food. Everyone seems to be in some state of confusion. There is a long wait for chicken and pita bread always. I think the best thing to do here is to order ahead. The food is delicious! There is no doubt about it.
I finally tried their wrap after a recent conversation with a friend where we spent 15 minutes singing Sultan's praises and comparing our regular orders. I'm glad my friend recommended their wraps so adamantly. The wraps are surprisingly affordable and astonishingly delicious (well, perhaps the deliciousness isn't that astonishing as all their food is delicious). I grabbed a beef kefta wrap and a chicken kebab bowl with hummus in case the wrap alone didn't prove filling enough, but the wrap was quite filling. I might do 2 wraps in the future with the hopes of leftovers. On my most recent visit, there was a very kind young man behind the checkout who provided amazing service. He was very attentive and took the initiative to check in with all recently placed orders and online orders. He even updated customers on the status of their order if he noticed they had been waiting a little bit. I definitely appreciated this as a customer.

This is a small, unassuming dinner in a prime location, this place is always busy. You order your food at the counter and you eat. The servers are swamped and a little dry. The food is reasonably priced. It tasted pretty good but I have to confess I am a novice when it come to middle eastern food. But I guess I will eat a lot here because of my wife.
Looking for a healthy meal during my business travels, I went to Sultans Mediterranean Grill since their menu looked healthy, and they were conveniently located in the same plaza as Trader Joes where I was picking up healthy snacks. When I entered, it looked promising. There was plenty of seating. This was served cafeteria style where you order and they scoop the item. I ordered the #1 Chicken Kabob Plate ($16) and swapped out the rice for All Salad ($3). For the sides I picked the hummus and eggplant. The scoops were large, but not tasty. The salad was overly dressed. The cashier was really slow and holding up the line despite everyone else being fairly efficient. It was also annoying because they wouldn't ring me up until the food was done, so I couldn't even walk around the plaza and be productive. The utensils are self-serve, so one more thing for the customer to deal with. Not sure why the staff was so slow. The box was sticky and oily on the outside from whoever handling the chicken also touched the outside of the box and didn't care to wipe it down. As for the chicken, it was dry and overcooked with burnt edges. I had to cut off so much of it to make it edible. The salad was overdressed. Great location, but the food and service is disappointing.

Unfortunately this was my first visit and I was not impressed. The food assembly line was a mess. The food was all over the counters. It did not look clean, nor appetizing. When I ordered the pita chips , the cashier kept insisting for me to take one from the register and not the enclosed food case. When I got home, I saw mold all over the chips. So gross. I'll never go again.
This is one of my favorite places for a quick lunch on a busy day. Today I ordered the falafel Shawarma and the mint lemonade. This place can be really busy and today was my lucky day, because there was no one in line. The staff are nice and the service is quick and professional. Because they make everything fresh and when you order, it can take a bit longer to get your food. However, it is well worth the weight. Since it wasn't too busy this time, the staff was doing a great job clearing and cleaning the tables. Based on my last review, however, I did not use the bathroom. Enjoy!
UNDENIABLY the best Mediterranean spot in Bakersfield. No contest. Wide myriad of sides, flavors are out of this world, and everything made as fresh as you can imagine. Your whole plate will be colorful and better yet, delicious. For kebabs, they grill to order so you'll be waiting quite a bit especially if you have to go through their usual long lines. I do think the wait is incredibly worth it. Not a single bad side on here and everything is worth trying. My personal favorites are the ezme and baba gunuj. Again, healthy and flavorful. The roasted potatoes with garlic will leave you wanting more. Plates are hefty and you won't complain about quantity for sure. When you get to their checkout counter, make sure to ask for more garlic (toom), sultan's sauce, and spicy sauce. They'll gladly give you some with no charge!

We ordered their family meal which they say is for 6 people and $140. It came with beef kabobs, rice, pita bread, hummus, garlic potatoes, chicken and beef swarma wraps and arayes and a salad. It was a good amount of food, it fed 10 of us with 7 adults and 2 toddlers and a 92 year old great grandma who doesn't eat a ton. So at first I thought it was over priced for 6 people but for 8-10 I think it's correctly priced. We enjoyed it! Everything was fresh and delicious and when we ordered it in the store and they said 25 mins to get it prepped and it was 25 mins surprisingly. We would order again read more
The food was really good but the service line was pretty chaotic. We ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and the beef kefta plate. right after we ordered, the chicken wrap was done pretty fast but everything else that needed to be grilled on fire took so long. we watched the cook finish the beef kefta for our plate first but another lady took it immediately for a wrap for a customer that was after us. Because of that, we had to wait another 30 minutes for the beef kefta to be grilled again. By the time we got our two items, the chicken wrap was already cold. the food was very solid however, so I think it's worth it when it's not busy. read more

You guys need to work on your food handling. Why is the cashier touching the food without gloves after handling money? Why was the naan bread being rolled up by the cashier? Why do you guys not do refunds when things like this are found in the food. Terrible service and terrible policy. read more

I've been to many Mediterranean places and consider myself somewhat of a snob. This is hands down the best place I've ever had. The meat was so tender and the hummus with olive oil was unbelievable. I live in Los Angeles and I'm a bit sad we do t have a place this good near by. Congratulations on having such a great restaurant. This would be my death row meal. read more

You can't go wrong eating here! Everything has so much flavor and freshly made. My husband and I shared two plates of chicken and beef shawarma on a bed of rice with two sides of pasta and cucumber salad along with 3 garlic potato wedges, and pita bread . It was so delicious that you will want to return the next day for seconds. Service was quick and felt like a lunch line cafeteria. This place has inside and outside dining options. read more

Omg where do I begin, you definitely get your money's worth. The food is unbelievable. It is fresh, handmade, and not dry. The serving size is unlike most places in town. Honestly we could have shared the beef shawarma plate. The rice was moist and had a fantastic flavor burst in every bite. From the sauce to the main course this place knocked it out of the park. For two of us it was just under $40 that included tip. We still have plenty left for a snack or early dinner. The service was quick and steady. Just make sure you do not order at registers, it's on the opposite side that you place your order. The ambiance is casual dinning. There is a small amount of seating inside and outside. If you like Mediterranean food this is the place to check out. read more

My partner and I love Mediterranean food and Sultans is a must try! We share this chicken and beef shawarma wraps, sliced and served alongside crispy french fries with tahini. Don't forget to get desert with yummy baklava! I do see new employees often in training so I would warn many to be patient. Otherwise, there is plenty of seating indoors and outside. read more

Excellent food! I've had lunch here a couple times and have been so pleased both times! The food is so fresh and the price was fair. The place was busy and we had to wait a bit for our food. The place was clean and workers were nice. The menu is set up in an interesting way, so give yourself a minute to understand it. I can't wait to go back and try something else.
