    Spicy chicken marinara
    Tracey F.

Another stop after a long day of traveling. Hubs found Luna on a search and the menu sounded good, so we stopped in for a late dinner. The space was quaint and quiet, nice after having been in the car most of the day. We both ordered drinks and meals. I jad the spicy chicken marinara, hubs got the garlic confit chicken. While the pasta was good, it was far too spicy for my liking. I could only finish about a third, which was fine, as it was quite filling. It took a little bit to get our check and be on our way, but we weren't in a huge hurry either. Luna is definitely worth a dinner stop!

    Ceviche Asiatico

We came to Luna and decided to share two appetizers and wow, both were incredible. First, the Ceviche Asiatico was SO good. It was super fresh with the perfect amount of spice, just enough kick without being overpowering. The flavors blended really well and made it hard to stop eating. We also ordered the Spicy Shrimp Al Diavola, and this dish had SO much flavor. The sauce is comparable to a marinara, but with a unique twist that really makes it stand out. It was rich, bold, and absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. Definitely a great spot if you want to try a couple appetizers and enjoy something different. We'll be back!

I wish I never came here because now I'm obsessed! Randomly came with some friends to try it out last night and everything was so good. It wasn't too busy so we got seated right away. The atmosphere is perfect for great conversation and you instantly feel cozy/comfy. The restaurant is also decorated so beautifully and perfect for pics. Food was delicious, the sliders were solid and the ceviche was the perfect amount of spicy. I tried out La Roja for my cocktail and I want another one right now just thinking about how good it was. I can't wait to go back to this spot

This place is absolutely gorgeous! It seriously feels like you've been whisked away to a dreamy little bohemian getaway! We were seated right away, and the kind host took good care of us from the start. The food stole the show (it just makes sense) I ordered the Pasta Del Mar, and WOWY every bite was chefs kiss. My pasta was loaded with mussels and big, shrimp, all perfectly coated in the most delicious sauce. My mom had the Ceviche Asiatico and said it was the perfect balance of spicy and refreshing and flavorful dish. Honestly, beautiful vibes, amazing food, and great service; this is definitely a spot we'll be coming back to since it so easily became our favorite !

Absolutely delicious from start to finish. The Chilaquile Stack was packed with flavor perfectly layered, savory, and satisfying and the Naughty Tots completely lived up to the name. Crispy, loaded, and impossible to stop eating. Great food, great portions, and definitely a spot I'll be coming back to.

We're baaack! It was so good last time we had to redo. This time around we got the following: La Blanca & a Michelada for drinks, very good! A side salad, Salt & Pepper Wings (fave so far!) and Creamy garlic Penne Pasta w/ Chicken. Everything was delicious and the service was great! Always a nice dinner date vibe or any celebration!

Luna has been on my radar for a while now and my wife and I finally got a chance to try it out last night for dinner. The staff was very friendly welcoming us right away and getting us seated. The restaurant itself is really cool, the atmosphere in there, it feels like an upper scale place. The food was delicious. I had the spicy pasta with shrimp, they aren't kidding when they say spicy it definitely had a kick, I really enjoyed it. The pasta was very well cooked, plenty of sauce and the bread that came with it was really tasty. My wife had the potato and soyrizo flautas and really liked them. The plating was really nice and the flavor of the flautas were really good. It came with rice and beans which she also really enjoyed. It was a great meal and we'll definitely be back, I'd highly recommend trying out Luna if you haven't already.

    Smash burger

This place is a real gem. I loved everything about it. The smash burger was outstanding, and my mojito was great too. The interior is very aesthetic, and I liked how the staff uniforms match the style of the restaurant. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming. My waiter, Gilbert, was amazing. He gave me great suggestions, was very kind, and checked on me at the right times without trying to push extra sales, which I really appreciated. I also noticed how the staff were smiling and hugging each other.....it shows there is a friendly atmosphere, and customers can feel that positive energy. Gilbert told me they also have another location in Long Beach, and I will definitely try it. If you want quality food and a cozy atmosphere, I recommend visiting Luna.

I live nearby and can't believe I hadn't been here! The location is in a strip mall-like building. It hasn't ever really stood out to me. The inside decor is super trendy and cool. The lighting is dim and cozy and perfect for a date night. The seating is casual and abundant. I opted to start with a Luna Mule. It was tasty and not too sweet or strong, it was just right. My main dish was the creamy jalapeno pesto penne (add chicken). The portion is huge and you will definitely be going home with leftovers. I wouldn't say the dish is spicy even though it says jalapeno in the name. It has a really nice balance of cream and freshness of the pesto. The chicken was cooked nicely and the side of bread brought it all together. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We did not wait to be seated although bigger parties should definitely call-ahead or reserve? Our server was quick and efficient although we were never offered refills on our waters which was odd.

I ordered this from the breakfast menu and per the menu it includes the egg. However when it was initially brought to me the egg was missing. This pic was taken after my friend informed our kind waiter that the kitchen must have forgot the egg. Delicious but we needed to clarify that the egg was missing. The espresso martini was pretty good too. I would visit again because the menu has a lot of options.

By far one of the finest places to have lunch ! The food was amazing the drinks were refreshing. The service was top tier friendly and the mood was soothing great for convos and great food !! 10/10 for sure ! Music that was playing was very with the flow of how the mood was set.

Had a little brunch date with my friend at Luna. Luna is a sort of fusion style restaurant, mix of Italian, Mexican, and American cuisines. Usually, I stay away from restaurants that fuse a lot of different cultures but Luna did an amazing job mixing them all together and created delicious meals. For drinks we got the guava and mango margaritas for $13 each. Super delicious! I really couldn't choose a favorite from the two drinks. For our appetizer, we got the naughty fries. First of all, WOW at the portion! It was huge and super delicious. Definitely would order it again! For our main course, we got the Pasta Del Mar and Spicy Marinara Cremosa. Both pastas were delicious. The Pasta Del Mar was more so on the buttery and garlicy side while the Spicy Marinara Cremosa had a little kick to it and had strong flavors. We really wanted dessert but honestly, two drinks, an appretizer, and two full pasta bowls did its job (plus some leftovers). Definitely would like go back again and try different meals, drinks, and desserts!

Anniversary dinner tonight at Luna Bistro & Café and the experience was incredible. From the moment we sat down, our server Javier took amazing care of us. Attentive, friendly, and the kind of service that makes you feel genuinely welcomed and appreciated. The kind of service that elevates the entire evening. The drinks were on point, the food was beautiful and full of flavor, and the atmosphere was perfect for slowing down and enjoying the moment. Huge thanks to Javier and the whole team at Luna for making our night special. Great food is one thing, but great hospitality is what really makes a place memorable. If you're looking for a great dinner spot in Bakersfield, this one is absolutely worth checking out. Thank you again Javier. We appreciate you.

Buche is savory and doesn't feel like you're even eating offal. Everything is loaded up! The loaded potato has about a 1/2" lb of meat or more. The quesadillas are plump! Meat almost falls out. Sauces and other accompaniments are self serve and you can get as much as you want. Their chipotle salsa is spicy but damn is it good. They even have spicy onions that I never see. While you wait for your meal and watch the taquero at work, they have beans, tostadas, nopal, grilled onions and jalapenos all just sitting there FOR FREE. They also have some tiny potatoes soaking in the meat juices if you're lucky enough that they haven't run out (also for free!). The experience is just so customer forward and this is a gem that I hope expands even more. They have deals every week from buy one get one tortas, $1 tacos at a certain day at each location. Eventually, she asked me about order 31 and repeated the tacos that were in it. I told her those weren't mine because that's not what I thought I ordered, so she offered to remake the food. I then waited another 20 minutes for the remake. When she finally handed me the order, my drink was missing even though I paid for one. She went back to check the ticket and realized she had grabbed the wrong order entirely. At that point, somehow the original order 31 that had been sitting on the counter the whole time magically turned out to actually be my order after all. So my food had apparently been sitting there getting cold while I waited another 20 minutes for a remake that shouldn't have even happened. The entire situation was disorganized, confusing, and handled very poorly.

But on a recommendation from colleagues, I was told to make the trip to the central part of town and check out Birria Bros. I'm a convert: It's the best overall place I've had in town. Their menus is simple and laconic without a lot of options: You pick from taco, burrito, quesadilla, and flautas and then you pick the meat: birria, al pastor, or carne. No craziness or Flamin' Hot anything. This is my kind of establishment already. The service is no-frills: It's an iPad with a cashier, and you get one of those pager things that buzz/sound when your food is ready. And then your food gets prepared in the truck and served. This is all anyone needs in life. I enjoy their quesotacos. They're a bargain and a great size at that. But my favorite are the flautas: They're cruchy, creamy, and cheesy. The combos are good too because the rice and beans are tasty. Their orange-colored salsa is smoky but absolutely spicy - definitely use with caution but entirely worth the burn. I think the best thing about BB is the value, as you get a great product for what you pay. I wish they'd open a location on the Southwest.
