One of the top micheladas I've had in town. Bartender took his time an created this amazing drink. And was always smiling the whole time making. You could tell he enjoys his job. The bar was full and everyone seemed happy while eating during hr.

Been coming here for years. I really like how spacious it is inside. There is even an upper level just for large parties which is awesome. They also take reservations which is awesome because not everywhere does. Food is always on point, everything is so good. The servers are always very friendly and helpful. This is an all around excellent restaurant.

Lively place, perfect for date night, family night, friends night. Lots of laughter and people having good food and fun. Definitely a cocktail bar. Big menu, but I honed in on the mixed seafood fajitas that came with a side plate of beans, rice, guacamole, pico de galli and with corn or flour tortillas. Everything in the sizzling plate was good but the octopus was way overcooked , so it was like chewing a piece of leather. Scallops and fish were small, but the shrimp were cooked to perfection. My husband had the shrimp poblano enchiladas. He raved about them, but managed to pick on my shrimp and peppers. We had Fried Chicharones as a starter appetizer and they were pretty good. Still sizzling when they reached our table. Overall, I'm going to do a 4 rating and this is largely due to the overcooked octopus in the fajitas, as well as the bay size scallop and small fish. Otherwise food was flavored well. Big birthdays tonight....Yay for us Aries! I would go back again for the drinks and to try out other dishes. I liked the vibe in the place. Our server was very attentive and sweet!

Happy Hour 3 mini quesadillas with frijoles puercos

So delicious! This place has the best shrimp cocktail in town. They have an amazing happy hour menu that you can have at the bar. Most things are between $7 and $10 so I scored today! I popped in for a light and quick dinner and sat at the bar. I ordered a Bloody Mary ($7), shrimp cocktail ($7). And mini quesadillas with frijoles puercos ($10). They're happy hour is from 3 PM to 7 PM. Usually, there's plenty of seating at the bar and that includes, the bar counter as as well as some high top tables. The staff is very friendly and professional, and they are always so accommodating. The service is quick, including coming around to clear away dishes. I definitely recommend this place. Other patrons were telling me that the shrimp empanadas are also delicious. I will try those next time! Enjoy!

Decided to go here during my lunch break on a Friday and despite the time, there was minimal wait time. The interiors were nice and amazing. I like how there were different levels inside though the restaurant doesn't look that big on the outside. We ordered our shrimp dish (of course!) and one serving was good enough for two. It was flavorful and shrimps were cooked the way I liked them to be. Of course had to have the guac after a good experience in their other location and it was as usual good and tasty. Service was okay, not sure if they were short-staffed when we came. Our extra plate, since we're sharing, came in a bit late that we made it work already but other than that, food and ambiance would be worth coming back for!

First time here...and I enjoyed. My food. My favorite was the bean dip and salsa and chips. Service was great! They are very attentive. The ambiance is casual and the flow is steady. I had a rib eye steak and let me tell you!!! Delicious!!! Give them a try.

First of all, there is NO other ambience in town that compares to La Costa!! My husband said when you sit down, it feels like you can open the window & see the ocean. I couldn't agree more. Bright, colorful & vibrant. This is the place I want to sit down at! Our server was Carol & she was AMAZING! Fast, friendly & on top of it. The food is always phenomenal. I love the chips & salsa the most. Nothing else hits the spot like that. I got the mixed fajitas & my husband got a burrito. The grilled chicken plate was a great option for our toddler. This place goes above & beyond, plus the flavor is spectacular.

Steak and shrimp fajitas, are a must try, they were so good. Everything was good including the service. Very nice inside and we were seated right away.

Los Arcos Nachos (fish and shrimp) on the appetizer menu
    Heidi L.

This place is always a hit or miss for me. The atmosphere is good to get together with friends and a drink and some food but the food is sometimes a let down. The drinks are usually decent which keeps this place on my radar and the service is usually friendly, so I do keep it on my list for others who enjoy it here. Tonight I had a cucumber margarita and I ordered the Los Arcos Nachos on the appetizer menu as my main dish. The drink was good as always, my nachos were forgettable, way too much greasy cheese, although I love cheese but it felt way too greasy and heavy. The nachos had shrimp and fish on them and that was literally it. While I can appreciate basic nachos this was a no for me. But it was a pleasant night and good company so I am sure I will be back and will just try something else on the menu.

Such a beautiful large brick interior, convenient bar with happy hour, great service, and delicious Mexican food options and cocktails!

My boyfriend and I went there for drinks. My drink was delicious and the bartender was very knowledgeable. We went during lunch time, so what the bar area wasn't packed at all.

The server was patient and we tried to decide what we walked to drink and eat. The restaurant had a quiet atmosphere even though they are located at the Valley Plaza and it was the beginning of spring break. We both ordered the same drinks and food. Both drinks and entree (it was actually a shareable plate) tasted great but the salsa that came with the chips was a bit ordinary with no spice. I couldn't really taste the difference between the Paloma and the margarita ‍. The place is decorated really nice but what they should've focused on was making agood food. I'm so glad I only ordered appetizers because had I ordered food I would've wasted so much money. Birria tacos simply taste like red beef tacos, no real authentic flavor. Shrimp skewers I was told was okay but even that had more veggies than actual shrimps. The rice wasn't cooked all the way. The presentation on nachos was excellent but the nachos were gross. No flavor in guacamole. Beans were plain beans bland af. The chicken wasn't seasoned and had an awful charbroiled taste, just awful! The salsa weren't spicy or tasty. I can only recommend this place for a good happy hour spot because prices are outrageous for drinks. Once again they should've focused on the food than the decor.

The place is pretty easy to find on the corner of 18th & R. There isn't a lot of seating for more than parties of 4. We were a party of 6 and we all smooshed into a horseshoe booth inside. There are only 2 of these booths available and they indicated they are not able to place additional seating at the booths. I imagine you might be able to put tables together outside for a larger party. We were greeted warmly, and while I felt overwhelmed by the amazing choices, the gal taking our order put me at ease by walking me through the menu board. We got amazing carnitas quesadillas and tacos and another dish that came on top of a mound of delicious fries. It's the kind of place where you order, then sit down and they bring you the food. We were well taken care of. Our drinks were refilled and they brought us 'to go' boxes. Their portions are generous and just tasty. And the iced tea was perfect! We ordered a full order of chips and salsa. That is extra. It was $6 for a full order ($5 for half) and these chips were well worth the cost. We will be back!

Before my guest even arrived, I was told the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes, which made it impossible to plan or order properly for both of us. About 30 minutes after being seated, the waitress asked to close out my tab and mentioned they were closing an hour and a half early, something that should have been communicated when I walked in so I could have chosen to go elsewhere. To make things worse, about 10 minutes before closing, they turned the lights all the way up and shut the music off, which made it very clear we were being pushed out. No one came by to offer boxes for our food (I had more than half my meal left), and my guest didn't even get to finish her drink. We were essentially rushed out before the already early closing time, with no proper send-off. Overall, the experience felt very unprofessional and uncomfortable.
