I called to see how long the wait was and It's was recommended that I make a reservation and so I did but when we walked in the restaurant it was empty. The server was patient and we tried to decide what we walked to drink and eat. The restaurant had a quiet atmosphere even though they are located at the Valley Plaza and it was the beginning of spring break. We both ordered the same drinks and food. Both drinks and entree (it was actually a shareable plate) tasted great but the salsa that came with the chips was a bit ordinary with no spice. My bartender was cool until I asked for my bill and he decided to entertain the ladies on the other side of the bar. I couldn't really taste the difference between the Paloma and the margarita ‍. The place is decorated really nice but what they should've focused on was making agood food. I'm so glad I only ordered appetizers because had I ordered food I would've wasted so much money. Birria tacos simply taste like red beef tacos, no real authentic flavor. Shrimp skewers I was told was okay but even that had more veggies than actual shrimps. The rice wasn't cooked all the way. The presentation on nachos was excellent but the nachos were gross. No flavor in guacamole. Beans were plain beans bland af. Last time I was there the bartender was talking to staff and ignoring everyone on the other side of the bar. Wow, sad to say this was the worst buffet experience of my life. Upon walking in there was literally almost no food at all. No plates either, I had to ask for some. No food in the kids section, no dessert, and majority of the dishes were missing. They said they ran out of tacos at around 1 PM when the buffet started at 11 AM. There were no plates for the Menudo and when I asked for some, they said they were gonna get some, that took a long time. When I got the bowls, I then had to ask for spoons which then again they said the same thing and, that took a long time. We stopped in on Sunday for an early dinner and had about a 15 minute wait while they set up tables. The service was friendly and helpful. The food was very, very good. The ribeye vampiro tacos were some of the best tacos I've had in a long time. The salsa that came with it was very smokey and a bit too spicy for my taste, but my husband loved it on his Arrachera steak. We were both very happy with our entrees, and with the Chicharron de pork belly appetizer. The decor was very nicely done, and my only issue with the ambiance was the volume of the music was a bit loud for my old ass. My sister and our girls were shopping at the mall and decided to eat there. My sister has been there several times and this was my first time there. It was definitely a cute restaurant and had a romantic atmosphere. We asked to split our check before ordering and we were told we couldn't (our party was small two adults, two children and an infant) so we didn't understand why not. We placed our order and the tacos and salsa were definitely delicious and a good size for taco Tuesday and good flavor. I ordered chicken tacos. What I didn't like was the server (Esmeralda A) continuously kept speaking to us in Spanish just because we were Hispanic when we kept speaking English. From our table, only my sister was fluent in Spanish. When I would respond in English, she would give me a look like she didn't like me speaking English, which was upsetting. To top it off, we asked another server about splitting the check and he said we could. When we let Esmeralda know she was extremely argumentative and wanted us to pointe out which server told us, which was very unprofessional! The check was also wrong so we let her know and she became agitated and argumentative stating we were wrong. We had to simplify what 3 plus 2 equaled and then she understood and changed the receipt after arguing and asking the person who brought out the food how many he brought out, he ensured her we were correct. We ordered a variety of items including the birria tacos, the Diablo shrimp, a grilled chicken ceasar salad, the enchilada trio, enchiladas suizas, a steak burrito and the ribeye steak dinner. The chicken ceasar salad, and the ribeye was the best of the dinners, as well as the steak burrito. A few ordered the birria tacos and no one liked them. All of enchilada plates were luke warm which is always a disappointment. We may try again but I feel like at the price point we should at least be served warm food. My cousin, my sister, and I tried multiple times to get the bartender's attention at the bar, but we were completely ignored. After several attempts, we decided to sit at a table hoping a server would come by, but even then, the server walked right past us to serve the table next to us without acknowledging us. Aye Mi Pa is outstanding! Service and quality of food is amazing. Our server Victor was phenomenal with every recommendation and service provided. We walked in, having wanted to visit the location since they opened because the aesthetic and vibe of the restaurant is superb. First of all, they did a fantastic job transforming this place from the Lucielle's bbq it used to be. The bar is cute. Seating is fun. Enjoyed the feel of the place. Our server was also pretty good, considering a lot of the reviews mentioned bad service. He did ok. Everything else? Not good at all. There were 4 of us for dinner and two of us were sick to our stomachs that night and the next day. The meat had a bit of a funny taste so we think that might have been the culprit. I get it, people come for the bar/club (?), but please don't serve bad meat. Especially when the plates are $25+ per person... The drinks were fine. Nothing great. Not horrible.
