What a cute and confusing location. One owner with two businesses in one location it seems. On part of the wall is in honor of yolked and the other represents the taco shop. It looked clean and the menus were clear and bright so there was no confusion on what you were ordering. The lady at the counter was friendly, and the price was, I guess reasonable for these days. To begin with, the coffee. One of the simple pleasures of eating out breakfast is the coffee! I was so upset when I realized they serve KEURIG! If I would have known this I would have made a coffee at home not pay 3 dollars for it. We ordered the oink and the spicy dog both which came with tator tots. The tator tots were good although they did taste frozen and some were cold. The bacon and sausage in these were so good great quality and the sauce was tasty. Wanted to try this place out. I came across it on Instagram and knew I had to stop by. Sandwich was pretty tasty. It had a sauce in it like a spicy mayo it was very good. I loved that it had thick cut bacon and not tiny pieces of bacon. I will say I was really full after! I do wish the brioche bun would have been much toastier and that the tater tot's would have been better..they were soggy, but stale all at the same time. I will defiantly be back to see if the tater tots have improved. All in all, it was a really good breakfast sandwich and a great place to try nothing else like it in Bakersfield. Okay guys, I've found thee best breakfast sandwich spot in town. Think EggSlut- but better. (That is a chain btw) haha. The eggs were thick, fluffy, buttery. The cheese was perfect, and that bacon! So good. I would have liked the bacon to be a little crispier, but man was this sandwich amazing. It comes with a side of tots and they were delish. I'll be back for more! Well Bakersfield.... It's always funny to me why places like this don't seem to care about the business they say they offer. This place is inside a little taco shop that's mostly a taco shop, but we "offer breakfast sandwiches sometimes too...They are wasting the good amount of hype they've received on social media by not having the ingredients to make the food. If you want a taco or a burrito...they've got it, but if you want any of the sandwiches they offer on social media, they are out of the ingredients to make anything. By reading other posts here, it's clear that having required ingredients isn't something they care much for. It's happening over and over again. For me, WHY drive clear across town, when they don't care whether or not it's available.!! First time I stopped here to try after seeing the social media post about the establishment. I've tried other sandwiches from places like Egg Slut and Egg Tuck in LA and was excited to see a similar product locally, but like other posts, "were sorry we can't make that sandwich," was all I heard!!! Out of all the listings on the menu, which I included, the only sandwich they could make was "The Oink" The saddest part for me was that the sandwich itself was REALLY good!!! It resembled sandwiches from the other places I mentioned and had pretty good flavor and a presentable portion size! If they actually had the ingredients to make their food, they'd probably do pretty well for themselves!! I also ordered Chilaquiles with red sauce and tri tip which I also really enjoyed! Of course they had the Mexican Restaurant staples to make chilaquiles, but that's where the buck stopped! Staff were SUPER nice and acted like they wished they had the necessary ingredients to make the food, but couldn't. Sounds like the problem is management, who obviously didn't care to be there!!! Building was clean and staff was definitely attentive to all the customers they had! So the big question....Would I return?!?! For me, it's definitely quite a drive to buy from this establishment! I do absolutely always give every business two attempts to follow through with their promise to provide the food they've ADVERTISED to sell, but only twice! I will return on another day and update my initial post. Hopefully management will see that multiple people really enjoy the food they say they sell and try to fulfill orders as they represented! When I went into Yolked I'll admit I was a bit confused . I didn't know it was a part of another restaurant, Señor Taco. Yolked is open until 1 I believe. After I figured that out , I'll say I love the decor . The images on the walls are so cute . The menu is simple which makes it easy to place an order . I ordered a breakfast sandwich with bacon, and chilaquiles with green sauce . I adore the eggs on the breakfast sandwich . They're light and fluffy and taste like what I'm assuming joy tastes like ? Another trend to hit Bakersfield is the soft egg scramble sandwich. I have been eyeing these sandwiches for the past years but never set my heart out to visit such places until recently. The most notable ones are out of Southern California, Egg Slut & Egg Tuck. Now we ventured to Bakersfield's very own, YOLKED. Yolked is located inside of Senior Taco across near the intersection of Panama Lane & Wible Road. The parking lot is small in spaces and when we arrived around 10:30am on a Saturday morning, we were lucky to grab a spot. I say lucky because as we walked into Yolked and when leaving, cars were lined up waiting for cars to leave. Upon entering the restaurant immediately to your right is a wall with a white background covered with adorable characters like egg people, one on a scooter, another with a Jason mask and more. They have neon lit sign with the word YOLKED that grabs your eyes instantly. It is quite the contrast to the Senior Taco side of things. At the register, they have 43in. monitor that is vertically displaying their menu. You have the main hitters which are the sandwiches, THE OG, THE OINK, THE HULK and SPICY DAWG. Rounding out the menu are green or red Chilaquiles, a variety of breakfast burritos, sides and drinks. I have eaten food from here twice, both were take out. The OINK is soft scramble egg, chives, homemade sausage, cheese, yolked sauce all on a toasted brioche bun and comes with tater tots. The eggs were soft scrambled but did not have the fluffiness I enjoyed from another place. The sausage was well seasoned and their Yolked sauce did well to round out the sandwich. I would rate it a 6.7 out of 10, definitely has more potential with a harder toast on the brioche, a bit more fluffiness to the eggs and maybe using another cheese. Their tater tots in my opinion are okay, not crispy and feel under seasoned, a 3.5 out of 10. I feel like they are the same ones that you can buy frozen from Orieda at the grocery store. The Chile Verde Breakast Burrito was missing the chile verde completely. Nothing stood out for this burrito except that they forgot to put chile verde, 4.0 out of 10. The Chilaquiles looked amazing on one of the photos I seen so I ordered with it green sauce and tri tip, it comes with a sunnyside egg also. It is packaged in this cardboard box with the sauce on the side, which is great for take out so it does not get the chips soggy...at least I thought that until I opened in and saw it was soggy already. It was from the steam of tri tip and egg and not one chip has its crisp. The tri tip was a little dry and again under seasoned but with the added green chile it brought it a little life. The egg has some hard edges but the yolk was done well so again, it helps add life back to the dish but the soggy chips really makes it depressing. I rate it 4.5 out of 10 but if eaten right away at their location could be a lot better. Overall Yolked is a breathe of fresh air since breakfast is nearly identical around Bakersfield. I hope to see improvements to their items. I do see myself going back for their breakfast sandwiches but not burritos or the chilaquiles. If you are heading to southern California, definitely checkout some other spots that do the soft scramble sandwiches to understand my opinion. read more
