It seems like every corner in town has a Mexican establishment serving birria these days either as a brick-and-mortar, food truck, or taco stand. And I've eaten at nearly all of them. But on a recommendation from colleagues, I was told to make the trip to the central part of town and check out Birria Bros. I'm a convert: It's the best overall place I've had in town. Their menus is simple and laconic without a lot of options: You pick from taco, burrito, quesadilla, and flautas and then you pick the meat: birria, al pastor, or carne. No craziness or Flamin' Hot anything. This is my kind of establishment already. The service is no-frills: It's an iPad with a cashier, and you get one of those pager things that buzz/sound when your food is ready. And then your food gets prepared in the truck and served. This is all anyone needs in life. I enjoy their quesotacos. They're a bargain and a great size at that. But my favorite are the flautas: They're cruchy, creamy, and cheesy. The combos are good too because the rice and beans are tasty. Their orange-colored salsa is smoky but absolutely spicy - definitely use with caution but entirely worth the burn. I think the best thing about BB is the value, as you get a great product for what you pay. I wish they'd open a location on the Southwest. read more

Tried the birria queso taco and the California burrito and they did not disappoint! Both were pretty oily, which may put some people off, but TASTY! The meat was flavored well, queso taco had a nice crunch to it, and the burrito was lightly toasted. They have ample outdoor seating and parking as well. Just flew into California and who doesn't want a good authentic taco truck? So happy I was able to find this gem on Yelp and were 5 mins away. The service was great, we got there around 4:30pm got our food very quick and it was all delicious. Seems to be two young brothers running the show. The prices are incredible make sure you order at least two mulitas since I only got one and wanted more. The only problem I saw was there wasn't a tip option when I used my credit card. When I saw this taco truck offers keto tacos , I had to try them. The taco truck is connected to the most adorably decorated patio. It would be great for lunch with coworkers or just a relaxing moment alone . The street the truck is on is busy , but the patio feels secluded and cozy. You order at the stand on the patio and are given a buzzer to wait . The menu has great options , and many interesting looking drinks . Came here for a quick lunch, and it was delicious. Their service was fast and friendly. Seating was outdoors, in a cute enclosed area. Their lunch special included three tacos, rice, and beans for $10, which I thought was a great deal! My friend and wife both ordered double rice instead of beans (I'd probably do that next time as well). The el pastor tacos were bomb, and I enjoyed their birria. They have a little self-serve station where you could get extra cilantro, cucumbers, onions, radishes, and salsa. I also had their horchata, and loved it. It came in a huge cup. Absolutely disgusting. The beans seemed as if they were canned beans I've never seen those beans before. The rice was stale and not appetizing. The meat itself didn't have flavor at all. I honestly was looking forward to enjoy some birria tacos.Maybe refried beans and cooking the rice would be a little better. I'm sure the Bakersfield people are used to that type of food.. since there's not many options out there and are used to this food. On the bright side the place was pretty nice. My personal experience is different to most. I don't eat beef so I went to try out their pork tacos. Personally I found the tacos very greasy and hard. The strawberry Agua Fresca was quite tasty. The outdoor seating was decent for a couple pictures. read more

Top notch Mexican fast food! We've been ordering the Birria taco plate and the asada burrito and we've enjoyed it every time. We even took family from out of town over the weekend and they loved it, couldn't stop raving about the tacos and burritos. It's the best fresh and flavorful Mexican fast food you can get in the southwest of bakersfield especially if you like queso tacos and Birria, it can't be beat. Real deal yum factory right here! Birria is packed with flavor, consume is delicious, red sauce is spicy. Also tried the burrito, and it was filled fat with meat and the rest of the mission mix of flavors. Can't go wrong with solid queso-tacos and these were really good. On the drive back from Vegas to the Bay, we stumbled across this birria taco place. It is a small store with a shaded outside seating. We ordered on the counter and picked up our food at the food truck. We got birria quesadillas and birria torta. Their birria was delicious. It was tender and has great flavor with the consome. The Al pastor and carne asada was good as well. The prices were very reasonable and much better compared to Bay Area pricing. Definitely get the horchata. It was so good we went back and got a strawberry horchata for the remaining drive back. The strawberry horchata tasted homemade and they used actual strawberry for the flavoring. The location is a taco truck adjacent to a building with outside seating. You order food at an outside counter. Food is prepared and picked up at the taco truck. On our visit, we ordered the Queso taco plate and birria ramen. Everything was flavorful and delicious! Their rice alone is bomb. The beans were flavored with what tasted like cayenne pepper (a little too much for my liking). The tacos were tasty. The taco shell had a hard chewy texture (not crispy). That would be my only con to this trip. The birria ramen must have been amazing because my husband ate it all before I could get a bite in haha. We also tried the red and green salsa. These guys are amazing and to see where they are now from where they started makes me happy for them. Their food is amazing, but their catering service is on point. They drive out to the Shafter hangers to provide a most delicious meal for our Search and Rescue team. Everything was terrific. From the rice to the horchata. If you need a great meal and opt for Birria, I would recommend Birria Bros. any day. And if you don't need catering, swing by their location in Brundage for a bite. The quesatacos are what you come here for. They are the best I've had in town. I took a star off because the consome is sold separately which is annoying because what is birria without consome?? Also took the star off because the rice and beans in the combo plate were super meh - cold ish upon arrival and lacked flavor IMO. Their outdoor seating has been updated to the side of the building and is cute and quaint, but cold in the winter and blazing in the summer. Ambiance was pleasant. Eating area was clean and orderly. Young man on cashier (Miramonte HS=) was helpful, polite and patient, as this was our first visit. Food was out in a fair amount of time (we opted for take out). Home was where the deciding consensus would be made, AND... it was an all out thumbs up from each fam member. Went to Birria bros while driving home to vegas and absolutely fell in love! Everything was delicious and the portion sizes were HUGE! But the best part are the prices! $2 FOR A TACO!? Went here again like right before close and the service was amazing. It's been a while since I went there but the food was amazing just like the previous time I went. I also got the birria Quesadilla again and they gave me a free consome with it which was really appreciated since it goes really good with it. Since they changed location, they now have a really nice dining area to eat in which was decorated really nicely as well as having the little station for all the sides and condiments. BEST. TACO. IN. TOWN! Adding the consomé to dip the tacos and burrito in was next level. It's no surprise the Birria Bros. were voted as best taco in town. I've been told to get over to try them out for a while, and I'm glad I did. The Lara family that owns and operates the business are fantastic, nice, and take the time to explain the menu. My wife had never really had birria before, so she was pleasantly surprised by it. Quick tip: you gotta eat the taco ASAP for the best possible taste and texture. We had 4 quesatacos with consomé, a burrito, and a strawberry horchata (which was amazing). The price was spot on, and each person will be full with 2 quesatacos, rice and beans, or half a burrito. I wanted to check out what the hype was about so we decided to have it for dinner one day. I'm definitely a fan of the mulita, taco and their quesadilla. I tried their burrito and wasn't a big fan, so don't know if I would get the burrito again. I did hear they have tortas here, but I did not see it on their menu, so you'll probably have to ask for it. The birria was good and I would definitely want to go back to try it again, but the wait time is extreme. There's such a long line and by the time you order and then get your food, you probably waited a good 2hrs to get your food. I don't know if I would want to wait that long anymore . With so many different food trucks and restaurants now serving birria, not really sure if the wait time is worth it. Don't take my word for it though, try it out for your own experience. I heard this place sells out all the time, so compared to the other places, this might be your favorite birria spot. I don't know if they take food orders over the phone, but this may be your option if you decide to check them out. Not sure how safe 6ft distance is being practiced at this place because everyone is right next to each other lined up. Yes they have hand sanitizer out there and I think it's okay as long as you have your masks on, but I think the lines are too close together and then the lines are not organized. Once the line gets long, it's kind of all over the place. Other than that, once you do get your food, I'm sure you'll love it. read more

The tacos are so delicious with the consommé and very filling. I liked their patio dining area it was nice and cool in February.
