If you're looking to get a smash burger in Bakersfield, That Smash Shack is the place to go. I asked them a little bit about their different burgers, but decided to go simple with my order. I've had others smash burgers, but this burger had a nice crispiness to it and wasn't overly greasy! I hate overly greasy smash burgers. The fries also had a nice crunch to it. I love the design of their food truck! It's very fun and the bright colors make it one you can't miss. Make sure to drop by this awesome food truck! read more

Well I can't give a review because we never got the chance to taste their food.. we were really hungry and we wanted it delivered. Took us 1 1/2 hrs to figure out where our order went. We decided to download their app and order thru them directly. They couldn't find their drivers or they couldn't get a handle on them. Gave us a really bad taste. The food sounded good. But we will never know. Shame. Shame on us too for getting it delivered instead of going in. Hopefully I will get my refund. I attached a snapshot of what I wrote on their app. Good luck to them.‍ maybe we will give it a shot again... in a few months. But we will go in next time. ‍ 1) fix your phone numbers please. 2) pick better drivers/or don't use 3rd party drivers. Cuz they were bad. read more

This is everything a top tier smash burger is supposed to be. Melt in your mouth, hot off the grill, grilled onions and meat smashed to perfection. Is it a little messy?Maybe with how aggressively I scarfed mine down, but I still walked away stain free. lol I ordered a double stack, and my only regret is not going for the triple, and maybe not ordering an extra burger. Don't skip on the fries, they're great. I'd also recommend getting some extra sauce on the side. The folks in the truck are very friendly, and obviously know what they're doing on the grill and in the fryer. I'm definitely looking forward to the next time I have their burgers again. With my mouth watering as I write this review, I have a feeling that day will be pretty soon. read more

I was craving a smash burger one Sunday evening and decided to check out That Smash Shack on Rosedale Hwy (where there's a food truck court). When i got to the truck, the employee advised me it'd be a 20 minute wait, which i didn't mind. I ordered a double stack combo and boy did it not disappoint! The patties were so crisp and charred on the edges of the patty which I absolutely loved! The rest of the burger was juicy and delicious . The fries looked average, but don't let looks deceive you! They were seasoned perfectly and if you remember Rallys fries or Checkers fries, that's what they tasted like. So good! I'll definitely be back soon and now craving one as I write this review. I highly recommend giving them a try if you haven't read more

Food at this little truck is decent. I must say that they do get that patty nice and thin, with a great crisp on the edges. I opted for a single smash and my wife got the smash fries with a lemonade. You HAVE to eat this thing quick or it becomes beyond a soggy mess. I do feel they were a little heavy on the smash sauce. It also may be that it was not enough meat and I should try it with a double to help it stay intact. My wife's fries had decent flavor , but were extremely over-salted. I like salt as much as anyone but man, I became instantly dehydrated after a bite (not really but still very salty). We also paid the upcharge for pickles and got...4 slices. The lemonade was ok, for 8 dollars we were hoping for better. So far in my experience, every food truck at this park has been extremely "mid". read more

We found out you can order delivery here. We have been dying to try one. It did not disappoint. It was absolutely delicious. The edges were thin and crispy with grilled onions and cheese all on a soft delicious bun. I also couldn't wait to get a can of banana pudding. It tasted like it was homemade. This is the best burger in Bakersfield. It's our destination from now on. Thanks Smash Shack read more

3rd time is a charm. The last 2xs i was here i was too earky. But this time success. Wow one french fry and one bite i am hooked. French fries taste real with the perfect amount of season. The double burger with everthing has real taste you can taste the meat that is not just salt. ($16) the smash sauce is similar to Red Robin camp sauce. The hours are a little funky he opens at 11.30. This is a food truck at the corner of Calloway and Rosedale. A few bummers Extra smash sauce is a $1. Strawberry lemonade is an extra $6.25 with the combo. You are eating outside so flies and bees want to share your food. This is summer and eating outside in the afternoon know it will be hot. But dont let any of the stop you come down! read more

I was very surprised to see how this food truck area at the southwest corner of Rosedale and Calloway was decorated. So much effort on part of the owners to make it welcoming, comfortable and fun! The huge, real Xmas tree was impressive! We were happy with the two places we tried. Especially That Smash Stack! The double burger was really delicious! The bun was soft and ever so slightly sweet, it was juicy from the pickles, sauce and cheese. The burger did have crunchy, crispy edges. The house made blueberry lemonade was sweet and tart. I really liked it even though it was $8. My husband loved the fries, thin, crispy, salty. read more

I ordered the double smash burger combo, agree this sauce cup is not enough as they are generous with the fries, burger was good. The fries were a bit lack luster to me as they weren't really crunchy but to each their own, however taste of the fries was good. read more

I'm a foodie and love burgers but these just don't measure up. The burgers have this sour weird taste to them and for the amount of beef you get for the outrageous price your better off with fast food. The meet tastes cheap and has a funky taste has no toppings and ain't worth the price. And no it wasn't just a bad experience I went their 3 times and each time it actually was worse!! read more

Best hamburgers ever! A co-worker told me about them and once we tried it, we have kept coming back. Love that they moved over on Panama ln, as they are much closer to stop by for lunch or grab a burger after work. Must try them if you haven't. Would love to see them open up a restaurant where they can serve more people and have indoor seating when it gets hot outside. Otherwise, hamburgers to go! Recommend ordering ahead as they do get busy! Love this place! read more

Came on a Saturday around noon, and it was surprisingly empty i was very excited to try these. Unfortunately I was not impressed, to begin with the gentlemen at the counter was absolutely not friendly second, we did not realize the lemonade is an extra 8'dollars and NOT included in the combo!!! It would have been nice to be warned, second, a single patty should not be an option it was 90 percent bread. The fries were the best part although the special sauce tasted like mayonnaise. Lastly, our 8 dollar lemonade was room temp, oh and if you need ice they recommend you ask another food truck. Very nice read more

Looking for a legitimate smash burger? That Smash Stack is your place. Although the patties are thin (it's a smash burger) it's a good amount of meat and they pile on the cheese and onions. There is lots of patio seating available and parking behind all the food trucks. The food came out relatively quick and was hot! read more

Food trucks have boomed in the last several years and this one has to be one of the newest trucks in town. I'd say they're about the same price as a restaurant now but they're cooking each thing to order and they don't miss a beat at this joint. The fries, I was told beforehand were over seasoned but I believe they either worked that out or they just didn't know what they were talking about because their fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned to perfection. They also give you a ton of fries with each order. The burgers were smashed to perfection and were also crispy on the edges and it just came out to be a nice juicy smash burger. Larger than most places who do smash burgers, so I believe for your money you're not only getting a good deal but you're getting what you pay for. They're located on the corner of Calloway and Rosedale, with all the other food trucks and hopefully they get that place figured out because there are a lot of good options for your food truck cravings. We will be returning to The Smash Stack here soon. read more

Was craving a burger but wasn't sure where to go. So I jumped on yelp and looked up some places this place caught my eye. The hamburger was pretty good but was a bit greasy never had a smash burger before but maybe that why. The burgers were quick for service and wasn't that long of a wait. The loaded fries were in a kinda like a meal prep container if you want you can wash it out save it for something else. The lemonade was hand made you can tell it wasn't store bought. They only had a few selections of drinks. Because their ice chest got stolen sucks when you can't have nice things. But the place is a very good atmosphere they have heaters around if you want to stay near by or just eat in your car like me. But I'll go back and try it again but I would recommend this place to someone who craving a smash burger. read more

I had never tried an smashed burger before so therefore, my opinion may be lacking experience. BUT! I liked it a lot, I see a lot of people complaining about the price, but have you been to the 18hundred, same size burger, no fries, same price. Also, they got my order wrong, but when I went up to tell them about the error, they were kind and fixed the mistake free of charge!! They didn't make me wait, I would recommend this business to anyone, will be definetly coming back. read more

I ordered the single Smash with fries. I waited for 25 minutes but felt bad giving this place 4 stars based on that. The burger was a solid smash burger, however it's not the best I've ever had. Maybe this is the best in Bakersfield? Which is what I was on the hunt for. Nonetheless, this was a great smashed burger. Also, my order came with a lot of fries! In this economy, that's a saving grace because I could have easily shared my fries with a second person if they only ordered a burger. My Single Smash Combo was $15 with fries and a can of soda. I will 100% go back for that combo. I found this place at a Rosedale Food truck lot. There was easy parking and felt like a safe spot to eat outside of, even alone at night. Very casual ambiance. read more

This food truck is located off of rosedale hwy. the food is super yummy and fresh. With crisp pickles and fresh made shoestring fries this is definitely a place to check out. The burger itself was smashed with crispy ends and a delicious crunch in every bite. The fries are fresh and made to order. The service was great, they helped with recommending the combo to make it a little cheaper. The ambiance is outside patio. It does have loud country music, that is not my cup of tea. Came in after seeing tons of social media about this place and was excited! Walked in and saw the place was empty. The gentleman was sitting on a table outside the food truck on his phone. We walked up to order and you would think for being the only customers he would be friendly and happy to greet you but NO! He was unfriendly and just stood there staring even after I told him we had never been here. I asked him a question and he just pointed at the menu. I was like REALLY? So after ordering our food another gentleman walked into the trailer which I assume worked there. After a few minutes our food was ready and our number called. I walked up to get my food and he looked at me like who are you. I told him that was my food and had my receipt in hand. He asked for my receipt like if I was lying and was a total douch giving me my food after he realized it was mine. Definitely would not return to this place. The triple burger was like whatever, I have definitely had better. My wife got a single and it was all bread. Give it a try at your own risk but dnt expect customer service. Maybe that is why it was dead. Live and learn like I did. Wont come back *Owner reached out to me after our bad experience with employees and made it right! Definitely commend his attention to the business and customers. I will definitely give this place a second chance after the owner assured me my next experience would be a great one! Not many places will do that anymore. Give this place a try. I will be going back and would love to meet the owner in person and shake his hand. read more

Best smash burgers in town. On top of their burgers they also have great fries and sauce to dip them in.

During its opening week, I had the pleasure of dining here with my wife, and we both thoroughly enjoyed the smash burger. Our overall experience was exceptional, and the burger meal was generous enough to feed two people, so we opted to share one meal and add an extra burger. Since opening, I've noticed a decline in customer service and food quality with each subsequent visit. Greeting, smiling, and connecting with your customer is very crucial. My fries were over-salted, and my burger lacked flavor. The buns, which were once soft and buttery, are now hard and stiff, indicating a lack of consistency. I was initially excited about this spot, but after visiting multiple times, I've been consistently disappointed. Despite having high hopes, I've encountered issues with incorrect orders , and unfulfilled requests, such as extra grilled onions, or forgetting customization. As a result, I can only give this place 2 stars. read more

The food here is pretty good The fried are great and to my taste perfect. There is a seasoning on the beef that I find kinda weird but other than that it's pretty good. I would give a 5 star review but sometimes the customer service isn't great. And the price is also kind of too much but from a small business I also understand. Overall a great place that just needs to work some kinks out. Do expect a wait when it's packed. read more

So good I forgot to take pictures! It's hard finding a true smash burger in town yet one that's delicious and this place nails it. Got a double smash combo and blueberry lemonade. Delicious 10/10 exceeded our expectations. Everything's made fresh to order. Definitely check this truck out read more

Tried this food truck recently and unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. The prices were ridiculously high for what you get . I don't mind paying $15 for a combo. I decided to try the loaded fries and that was an additional $12 to the combo price. The burger did have a good flavor, mor grilled onions would have been good. To make matters worse, the customer service was seriously lacking. The staff seemed uninterested and borderline rude when I asked a question about the menu. No greeting, no smile -- just bad vibes all around. read more

Favorite burger in town & my go to whenever I'm in the mood for one ever since I first tried it.

Service is really slow, to the point of wondering where they butchered the cow for the meat. Fries were cold right out of the window. They also use a lime seasoning on the fries that I didn't like. Burgers were ok, but the bottom bun was soaked through with grease. They have some things to work on. read more

Gotta say, this is a very tasty n juicy burger. I tend to ignore the fries but these are near perfect. Excellent balance seasoned and fried. Extra pickles just right. Got the double smash burger, tasted great! Juicy, properly smashed patties, lots of cheese, good amount of sauce. I am a fan of shoestring fries, these were well seasoned and crispy. The food is good, I ordered the triple stacker, it was a pretty big burger. Now onto the bad the wait was long it took 26 minutes to get the order.
