I've eaten here a number of times. it's OK. I just went there, to the drive up. I ordered a pastrami combo, just shy of $13.00. I paid with my debit card. $15.85. I hammered on the window and demanded to know why so much? They said they have an 85 cent fee for using a card. It still maths out to almost a dollar overcharge, even with tax. Disappointed in their service. So my daughter and I went through the drive thru, gave a specific order, simple, two orders of the deep fried burritos, one of the chicken nuggets and a small fry. They asked if we wanted any sauce and we said no. We pulled up to the window, paid, asked a second time if we wanted sauce, again, we said no. Still waiting, we were asked again if we wanted any sauce, again we said no and yet we were asked one more time if we wanted any sauce, still we answered no, finally getting our order. Usually never any issues but this time we went through to a child probably like 8 years old. I told them my order including two burgers both plain because my husband has a onion allergy. The child handed us drinks that were 90% ice so i nicely asked for less ice more soda and it was fixed. My drink had been made incorrectly so my husband went back up and we were very understanding because our order was taken by a child and they seemed annoyed but fixed it. We then opened our food to realize there was onions which my husband is allergic to so he went back up and he was very apologetic even tho this wasnt our error and we just wanted the proper food since we paid over $30 for it. The owner started to yell and cuss and get personal with my husband telling him to get lost and acting as if we were thieves and trying to act like he (the owner) was going to get physical we will never be going back and will be making sure everyone is aware of the horrible environment this establishment is. Child labor is bad but the aggression and profanity from someone who's supposed to be a professional is outrageous. Young's Drive-In is the BEST! We stopped in on the road between Vegas & Oakland. We spotted it while searching for another local burger place. So glad we trusted our instincts and chose this colorful burger joint. We had two Classic Burgers and a Californian. Every burger was terrific and included generously stacked toppings, lettuce, tomato, and high-quality pickles. The Californian came with huge slices of fresh and perfectly ripe avocados. The burgers at this place are legit! The French Fries are the best. We didn't order fries initially because one of us has a shellfish allergy & they have fried shrimp. The owner(?) recommended the fries & explained they don't cook the fries with the other sides. So the oil is clear of allergins. This speaks to the quality of this drive-in. He was right; the fries are amazing. We also had an excellent Oreo Shake. I would eat here all of the time if I lived nearby. It will become a regular stop on our travels. read more

I was very skeptical ordering food from a new spot but I'm glad I took the risk. I ordered the jumbo classic burger with double patty & jalapeños also the pastrami chili cheese fries. The burger was full of flavor and cooked to perfection,but the only thing I wished was that jalapeños were fresh instead of pickled. But I don't mind pickled jalapeños at all. The pastrami chili cheese fries were also very good they are generous with the amount they give you and super cheesy & The chili was very good not too salty like other places I've tried. I really wanted a cheeseburger and my father recommended this spot. He said he would get burgers to go here before retirement. It's a small drive-thru burger joint selling all the fried goodies. We ordered a double burger with cheese combo and asked for large fries and drink instead of medium. I liked that it has thousand island, lettuce, onion, large pickle slices, lettuce. It was tasty. The fries are the crinkle kind with seasoning salt. I wish they would have been a little crispier. We also ordered a western cheeseburger with the bacon and bbq sauce. My father felt it was large and really good. He enjoyed it. Finally, we got a combo that had 2 fried burritos and a drink. My brother liked the small fried burrito. The person who took our order was friendly. He gave us our food in a few minutes. Young's has been around for a while. I remember eating here as a child. It's one of those burger shacks that doesn't have a drive in. You'll have to get out and walk up to place an order, or call in. What I like about Young's is they have variety. Desserts, like shakes and banana splits, to teriyaki chicken plates, to fish and chips and much more. I love their burgers! There are a lot of mom and pop joints that have the same ol' taste, but Young's burgers are different. I think it's the thousand island they use. It's a sweeter taste and I personally dig it. Also, yummy seasoned crinkle cut fries... need I say more? The location is a little sketch, but they keep up with cleanliness and the employees have great customer service. The guy who took my order I believe was the owner and he was very friendly I told him it was my first time there he let me know I wouldn't be disappointed and I was. I ordered the teriyaki beef dinner. Came with rice, salad which I asked for fries instead but it came with the salad any ways and it came with a vegetable roll and something else I don't know the name of but I didn't care for it. We usually order the 5 small hamburger deal for 20 bucks comes with plenty of fries and 5 large sodas. Can not beat that. Everything they make is good. PRICE GOUGERS!!! BEAWARE!!. 2 TRIPPILE burger meals. One with regular fries. One with onion rings. And asked to sub the med drinks with 2 jumbo strawberry shakes.. Ummm 47.23 !!! WHAT??.. After reading Sarah F.'s mention of an amazing banana shake here, I decided to partake of the Young's Drive-In Experience. A horribly rude Asian lady who makes incredible banana-based beverages? I am 100% up for this! I envisioned myself as a solo version of the Three Billy Goats Gruff, bravely toddling over the Oildale terrain in search of my prize. Would I successfully brave the troll hiding beneath the grill top? Somewhat disappointedly, I'm here to report no drama at all. I wasn't verbally lambasted, threatened or insulted. The Asian lady was actually quite nice and her banana shakes definitely rate a trip over to Oildale Drive. The only unsettling moment was caused by two Oildale teens who ordered right after me and then proceeded to add their own side of tongue to the entrees on display. BLECH! Best French fries and shakes in town. I have had the teriyaki and pastrami sandwich which were good, and I also enjoyed the 21 piece shrimp combo. Their fried burritos are perfectly deep fried. The cook is very nice, I always ask her what I should try next to eat. I'm never disappointed. read more

I haven't had much at this diner, just there ice cream, which is AMAZING, and their grilled cheese, which is good but really how hard is it to make a good grilled cheese? Their chili cheese ff are probably my favorite. I think it's the chili. Their chicken strips were eh. Just don't get the bbq sauce. I don't know if it was rancid or if it's just disgusting.
