My absolute favorite place to come for a Philly cheesesteak. Everything about the sandwich is straight shipped from Philly to ensure the full authentic real Philly cheesesteak. The whiz is out of this world gooey good. The fries are always cooked to perfection fry crunch. The only downfall for me and why I'm not here more often if there time. This was our first time trying Burger Hut, and we already get why people hype it up. We did takeout, and my husband was the one who went in to order and grab the food. He said the guy working there was super friendly and chill. They cook everything fresh once the order is placed, which I love. No heat lamps, no sitting around food. Just straight up made to order. You can also tell they use really good-quality meat. The burger meat is lean and clean ... not greasy, not gristly, not grainy, none of those weird chewy bits. Just solid, good meat that actually tastes like meat! The burger was fire. The patty was a really good thickness, not dry at all, and the flavor was incredible. It has this unique taste I can't quite describe, but it just makes the whole burger hit different. They grill the onions (automatic bonus points), don't skimp on the sauce or onions, and the pickles were really good too. Everything tasted super fresh. The chicken strips were smaller than what you usually picture when you think "chicken strip," but not nugget-small either. The chicken was tender, no rubbery weird pieces, and the breading was crispy and flavorful. The fries were cooked to golden, crispy perfection and seasoned really well. Now the Philly cheesesteak, ... I can see why it seems to be a popular item. It was super cheesy, stuffed with meat, and the veggies were perfectly cooked and tender. The bread was soft, the meat was tender, and everything just smelled and tasted amazing!! Prices are super affordable too!! pretty sure the burger was around $6, which is wild these days. Only downside was the missing avocado on my burger that I added on, but it wasn't even that big of a big deal because the burger was just that good.. Overall, really solid food, great flavors, and definitely a place we'll be going back to. If you like classic, no nonsense burgers done right, this place is worth checking out. read more

Decided to stop in and try it out. I haven't been here since new ownership took over. They are super friendly, its nice and clean that made me happy. Food is still great, really enjoyed my visit. Solid burger spot! Cozy gem, barely any room inside. Staff were very helpful and would want you to get the best bang for your buck. I said I didn't want a drink but she said it would still cost less if I got a combo and got the drink so I obliged. Got the whiz philly cheesesteak and it didn't disappoint. Between the burgers and the philly, I'd say it would be better if the breads were toasted (or more toasted). Phil has opened up in Burger Hut combining two great Bakersfield restaurants. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich is the best in town. Using only authentic Amoroso rolls and ribeye from Philadelphia. This cheesesteak is like a trip to the city of brotherly love without all the east coast attitude. They've also added more seating next door. Great location too lots of parking and in a beautiful downtown neighborhood. Well lots of parking for sure. Been awhile since I had stopped in here.. It was a rainy day and we were downtown looking for a good burger.. Nearby establishment that had just reopened would not make any "modifications" to their menu so we ended up here.. The street out front was flooded, there was only 1 car in the parking lot, and it looks a bit sad... We didnt let that scare us and decided to give the Burger Hut another try.. I knew the place had recently been taken over by some new owners that are flat hustling. They were both friendly and took our order promptly. Our burgers came out timely and they were awesome. Some of the freshest veggies around, the bun was nice and toasty, and the single patty was just the right amount of protein. The crinkle cut fries were perfectly cooked. We are so glad we re-discovered this place because frankly I think the burger was just as good as their landmark neighbor and the price was even better.. I know they are just getting their feet under them, but at some point they may want to add on some sides (mushrooms, taquitos, etc) to boost their bottom line. Nice little hidden gem in Bakersfield , the burgers are amazing and the owner is really attentive and super nice. I've driven by this spot numerous times and to be honest never even knew it was there. I was in the area and craving a burger,so a quick search on Yelp brought up Burger Hut. The reviews were not wrong the burgers are delicious and made to order. The place is not big at all with only a few tables inside of the establishment. And the prices are really reasonable way less than you would pay at the fast food chains but with a better quality product and amazing customer service. The menu is pretty basic but they do still have a bit of variety just fyi the chicken teriyaki is no longer available like it shows on the old menus on Yelp. read more

It was tough but this little gem is my favorite burger in Bakersfield. It is straight to the point flavor without any distractions you would see at a "gourmet" spot that needs bells and whistles to hide that they arent Burger Hut! I saw people there ordering cheeses teak sandwiches and feel the same as I do about the burger but I cant miss the chance when I am there to try it. The sit down area is small but all of the focus is on the food quality. I recommend take out or taking maybe 1 person with you to sit and eat but dont get your hopes up because it fills up fast. Went for lunch with a friend, as this is their favorite burger spot in town :) Tom the owner is friendly and takes his job seriously, he makes each order fresh, and is the only employee working.
