Amazing Burgers and super affordable! Went for lunch today and will for sure be back. I had the pineapple burger, fries, and a 20oz drink for under $11 which is cheaper then McDonalds. Everything was fresh and cooked when ordered. No fires sitting under a warmer for who knows how long. Super small inside so not a lot of seating but I took it to go anyways. read more

I've passed by this place for many years always telling myself one day. "I'm gonna stop in and try that place" well I finally did and I can say I've been back three times since in the past month. It's not the modern or hip place to eat at, but I'll tell you one thing the burgers are great. I ordered the bacon burger add fresh jalapeños combo, I'm normally worry about ordering bacon only because I do not like when it's over cooked or undercooked this was cooked perfectly had the right texture and was thick cut bacon, fries were also golden and cooked perfectly to top it off they are the krinkle fries . Over all great meal and the price is modest as well. Some things to keep in mind before you go The restroom is very small also no fountain drinks and seating is limited to 3 or 4 tables most people pick up.. I like to dine to get the full experience. This is a small little place stuck in a iffy part of town. It offers a simple not complicated little menu breakfast and lunch menu. It's clean but very outdated. We ordered the bacon avocado cheeseburger combo. Our order came out quick and hot. I gotta give the fries a two thumbs up. They were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The veggies on our burger were fresh, and the bun was grilled perfectly. Don't let the location scare you. You will get a decent meal at a decent price. I think this place would be great as an after hours food joint for the night life that happens around here. read more

#thankfulthursday Burger Hut has been around for a long time and it has always been super delicious! It's been awhile since I've been there. Yesterday my hubby went there to get us a couple burgers to go and they did not disappoint. They were delicious and the fries were super good and I ate the whole order!! I got a regular burger and my husband got the bacon burger. Both were fabulous!!! It is a small little place but the owners are nice and they make a mean burger! I remember the place before it had the indoor section... it was like a walk up burger bar. Because of Covid, you can't go sit down but you can still get it to go. Be prepared to wait a little bit during this quarantine stuff, but it's worth the wait. Keep them in business, SUPPORT LOCAL! #thankfulthursday. I saw lots of good reviews and decided to give this place a shot since I work close to downtown. Firstly, it's a one man operation, and if he's making more than one order at a time it can get very disorganized. I ordered online and got there close to the suggested pickup time and still stood there with several other people for like 10 minutes while this guy was frantically making a bunch of orders. Also, a random smelly homeless person was just hanging out inside. Whatever, I guess I can look past that. Finally after waiting for what felt like 10-15 minutes, he placed 2 bags near the front and said "Grubhub". Nobody's name, just "Grubhub". Then immediately walked back to make more food. I know I only ordered one burger, which presumably means one bag, so after waiting another several minutes I finally flagged him down and asked which order was mine and gave him my name. He looked super confused and had no idea what I was saying and just kept repeating "Grubhub???". Finally I told him what exact item I ordered and he pointed to one of the bags. Ughhhhh, ok. When there are multiple online orders, how about know which order is for which person my man??? I didn't want to take someone else's order... Anyway, the burger itself was pretty good. I got the western. The ingredients were good, and the burger itself was big enough that I felt decently full without any fries. 8/10 on the burger. Had it today for lunch, and it was a pretty darn good burger. It's always nice to eat at these establishments because you get fresh ingredients. So the burger did not taste like a commercial burger, it tasted homemade. And that's always a plus. There was one guy working the grill and the same guy was working the cash register. An unassuming little burger joint in downtown Bakersfield. There are no frills here. You get your food, drink, and you go on your merry way. I got the double cheeseburger with avocado and bacon. Hands down, best burger in Bakersfield. Small and unassuming, Burger Hut is all about the food and not the surroundings. Burger was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The lettuce, tomato and onion were all fresh. Fries were hot, crispy and nicely salted. Only downside was that my diet Pepsi was flat. Because the food was so good, I'll let that slide. This place is operated by one person, and so service is slow. Their burgers are not bad, but not great either. They are homestyle, like you would make at home. The beef patty is too thick and so the inside does not seem well done, they don't use iceberg lettuce but some other dark green leafed stuff that seems too healthy for a cheeseburger. Their soda fountain is out of order; so it's cans and bottles. I requested that my fries be well done, and they were not. I cannot recommend this place. read more

Great burgers, hand made and fresh meat, not frozen. Great customer service. This place is a great one man operation. He pulls the meat out of the fridge, puts it on the grill and cooks it perfectly. The patty is a perfect size, not like the skinny frozen jobs that you get from most independent (or chain) places. It was caramelized just enough and still juicy. He makes the sauce you get on the burgers, and while I don't like the usual Thousand Sauce you get from the chains, his homemade sauce is a hit! He grills the buns too, and that is the best way to treat a burger bun! It's the perfect finishing touch, most places skip it to their detriment. The frys are frozen, but they are always perfect and never too greasy. They taste fresh too, without that aftertaste you get from places that do not change their oil like they should (now you know what that funny taste is) If you haven't tried Burger Hut, you're missing out. read more

After seeing a recommendation on Google for this place, we were in the area, so we decided to drop in. I have to say I almost turned around and left. Your first impression is a tiny hole in the wall, very mismatched, very tiny, with a hint of a weird smell. We hung in there and ordered a single cheeseburger and a double cheeseburger with fries. Wow!! So glad we waited. It was definitely worth the wait. We were impressed with the single man behind the counter and how impeccably clean his grill was. The food was incredibly hot! He took great pride in the presentation of the burger which was fun to watch. He even took the onion and threw it on the grill for a minute or two which gave the hamburgers extra flavor. He also grilled the buns which I loved. Overall, the food was extremely tasty, blasting hot and the man was very sweet and quick. We can't wait to go back and try something else. read more

This place is what local food is about. Quaint location, friendly service by the owners themselves, and quick/fresh preparation of your tasty food! I have had a couple of things on their menu and tend to lean towards either a burger or a teriyaki bowl, depending on my mood. Both are delicious options for sure. My first experience was with their teriyaki plates and I absolutely love them! There's a place in Arvin that serves pretty much the same version and it's just as good! My favorite of their teriyaki plates is the chicken. It comes with lots of veggies and rice and some sesame seeds on top! The onions are basically caramelized and just add to the great flavor! A friend once asked if I'd had a burger from here and I said no. He was confused as to how someone had gone to the BURGER Hut and not had a burger so we went and it was awesome! The burger is freshly prepared and is juicy and tasty! It is what a hometown burger should taste like. It may be a small place but it provides delicious food for a great deal! I love this little place. The couple are so nice every time I go in and the food is great. The thing that makes the burger here so good is the bacon. Sad to find out one of my all time fav places to eat has changed ownership. The old man and his family at Burger Hut that used to make the best chicken teriyaki bowls in town has moved out of state for good. The new owner however has a new menu and what he calls a "Street Pancake". It's a mixture of a pancake with omelette with some sauce. Excuse the few bites taken out but couldn't help it as it has now become a must try item and my wife's new favorite to order. Good luck to the new owner of Burger Hut we will be back. read more

Don't be deceived by the appearance. This little ma and pop shop provides great tasting food at a really good price. It is a little tricky to find when using GPS but just circle the block a few times, you will look like any other drug dealer in the area and just pull up and park. I just had the teriyaki bowl. It was quite delicious and filling. I think what did it for me was the pineapple. I never tried pineapple with a meal before because I was skeptical about good it would be, but I really liked the moisture and sweetness it added to the whole meal. I felt healthy eating the bowl, not bloated or weighed down like other foods would make you feel when you eat too much of it. The owner was super sweet and friendly; the entire atmosphere was cozy and I definitely feel this would be a good place to catch up with friends. They serve breakfast too! read more

Stumbled upon this place while downtown. It's a hole in the wall, super small restaurant. If you blink, you'll miss it. That being said, the owners are very welcoming and happy to see you. There was a few people who came on after us, and they greeted them and even knew one customer's order automatically. I ordered the pastrami sandwich, and it was amazing. By far the best I've had in town. Their fries were crispy, and not oily. Husband had the Ortega, and he enjoyed it. I can't wait to go back and try the teriyaki plate. read more
