I stopped by here for lunch recently, at Los Tacos (Bakersfield, California), because this place seemed nice from the reviews on Yelp. When I arrived, I glanced through their menu and decided to get the "2 Hardshell Tacos" meal, with a side of rice and beans. I wanted to get one taco with chicken and one taco with beef, but I could not do that. The cashier told me that this was not allowed, and the two tacos had to have the same type of meat. Strange, I thought...I don't see why it makes any difference. Slightly disappointed, I decided on getting both tacos with beef. As I prepared to pay, I then realized that they charge a small fee for their customers who use a credit card. I was a little annoyed with this as well; so, I then decided to pay with cash. After getting a Dr. Pepper as my drink with my meal, I sat in one of their booths inside and waited for my order. The cleanliness inside was just ok. As I waited, I realized that this location does not have an internal restroom for their customers after one of their customers asked to use it. The cashier said that their restroom was outside, around the side of the building. After getting my meal, it appeared appetizing. The tacos were quite delicious, but the rice and beans were just ok. I also got some extra sauces to spice it up a bit. After departing, I noticed the restroom doors on the side of the building; They looked pretty ghetto. The outside landscaping was nicely maintained, but I was annoyed by the group of homeless people that were just camping on the grass outside this location under the trees. If I owned this business, I would ask the city to remove these individuals because they are not only an eyesore, their loitering presents a safety concern and an annoyance for their customers. It may even turn some customers away from this location as a result. Overall, the food here is pretty good, but in my opinion, this location needs to make a few improvements to deserve a higher than average rating.
3/5 I really wanted to love this wet burrito. On paper, it sounded like a comfort food home run -- ground beef, smothered in sauce, cheesy goodness. But the execution left me wanting more. The portion was generous, and it definitely looked the part when it arrived. But the first bite told a different story. The ground beef was barely seasoned, just kind of... there. The red sauce covering the burrito didn't have much kick or personality, and the cheese was melted but didn't bring enough richness to pull everything together. There was no real layering of flavor -- just meat, tortilla, and sauce, without any extra textures or contrast. No beans, no rice, no crunch, no fresh toppings to brighten it up. It wasn't bad -- just incredibly plain. Like a meal someone made in a rush without tasting it first. That said, the service was solid, and I know some folks prefer their burritos on the simpler side. But for me, this one needed some love -- maybe some spice, onions, cilantro, or even a squeeze of lime would've helped wake it up. I'll give it another shot, but next time I'm trying a different protein or asking for extra toppings. The drive thru was clean and the staff was friendly :)
Great food at a great price $10-11 for a combo meal with a drink! The food is great! I had the 2x2 and my wife had the 2 tacos plate. You get choice of meat, soft or crispy taco. I liked the crispy best. Their green sauce is great! And made by their own recipe. This was the second time we ate here. It was just as good the second time. I wish we had this restaurant back home. It is a great value and I highly recommend it for taste and price!!!
Loved my time here, tacos were straight up yummy with killer flavors and fresh vibes. Quick service, chill spot, total win. Def coming back soon.
I have been to this restaurant many times and have nothing but good things to say about it. The service is always friendly and fast whether you go through the drive through or inside. The food portion sizes are good in comparison to the prices. One thing to note is that you do spend less if you bring cash over debit/credit card. This visit I got the enchiladas suizas plate which comes with a drink. It's about $12 after taxes. The flavors are always on point and the beans are my favorite part! Would highly recommend.
I've been coming to this spot since 2006/2007 and THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN GREAT. Back then, there wasn't many SOLID Mexican spots in the Rosedale/Oildale area so I consider them an OG spot out here. I haven't ate here in about 4 years due to moving out of the area but I came back to eat here and yesterday and it was just as good as I remembered them to be. Great menu. Variety of everything which is what I like most. Prices are good considering the yummy food that you'll be getting. Portions are large too. Went with a chimichanga with shredded beef and that thing was HUGE. Cooked to perfection and it had so much good flavor. Easily would rate this dish a 10 out of 10. Also got a two item combination plate where I got a cheese enchilada and a crispy shredded beef taco with a side of rice and beans and it was all so good! Would rate that dish a 10 out of 10 as well. Overall, if your in the area and craving some good Mexican food, don't hesitate to stop by and eat here. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. Thanks Los Tacos for being consistently great.
3.5 stars. Had a carne Asada burrito and soda. Good flavor carne asada, loved the refried beans in burrito and definitely needed the soda because of how salty it was! The tiniest spice flavor and good green salsa to add to the overall flavor of the burrito. Without the salsa it would have been pretty dry. Little bit of a wait for the drive thru and the worker forgot my drink and I had to knock on the window to get her attention lol. 12.54 total for good size burrito and drink.
BEST CHIMICHANGAS!!! Bakersfield has ALOT of great Mexican food and this is one of the spots to try. It's a small mexican fast food restaurant with a drive thru , off the 99 freeway making it a convenient stop for us. Its very casual dining and you order first and then take a seat like at a regular fast food restaurant. Servers are always attentive and welcoming. I always get the shredded beef chimichanga and it comes with sour cream, salsa, and guac. Its HUGE by the way. Two people could definitely share this plate. My wife really enjoys the cheese enchiladas. They taste very home like and I appreciate that! Very good food in general.
Honest review time... Went here for the first time and afterwards kinda wished I'd been here before. I've lived down the street for years and never came by till now... The staff person I spoke with was AMAZING!! If he took your order every time, you'd love this place. Very welcoming and tried super hard to please. Went inside to order, but they also had a drive through for convenience. Inside was super clean and smelled great. Could smell the AMAZING smell of whatever meat that was cooking and it made my experience even better. For the food, I saw Chile Rellanos on the menu, so I asked if it could be made into a burrito. Mr. Amazing said it could and we were off...They made a veggie burrito, but added 2 Chile Rellanos and Shredded Beef. This thing was humongous, I bet 2+ lbs if I weighed it. Tasted GREAT!!! Only negative point was that they forgot to cut off the super hard stems of the peppers. If you read this, it would be great added to the menu, I will be back to buy again in the future!!! Also had hard taco dorado type tacos with shredded beef. They were REALLY good as well. I would come back just for those if nothing else was any good. Also had regular street taco like soft taco with Al pastor for the meat. These were good too and total adding to the experience, but were just ok. Nothing wrong with them, just better in other places. Would I order them again? Yes, definitely, would I go out of the way for them, probably not. I will try other meats and let you know my favorites in another review. Definitely loved the salsa too! The mild tastes good and the spicy was even better...Thanks This place is definitely worthy of your money and I promise you will be happy with whatever you buy. Look at the pics of the burrito I posted...Definitely order that sucker, it was fire!!
Ordered 2 item (carne asada taco, chili relleno), comes with rice and beans. The carne was alittle bland for my taste. Chili relleno was ok. And beans were slight flavorless. Chips and salsa are $3 for big bag and a red salsa. I've had better Mexican. Interior is kinda run down.

Ok Los Tacos has redeemed themselves!! My son and I wanted take out Linner today that's late lunch early dinner btw...It's been one of those days Lol we both just wanted naughty take out not fancy just delicious mexican food! Enchiladas, tacos, chips and guac (my son skipped the guac it had tomato he's allergic) the same things we got last time. I haven't been here since my last review 9 months ago! I thought ok it's time let's see if last time was just a bad day for them like real bad Lol! Well it appears to have been completely changed for the good like it used to be i'm so happy to report :) Service was great, clean inside and fresh salsas made!! Yay and wow even better than before! Last time green salsa wasn't made everything just sucked Lol! What a turnaround!! Chips were thin, crispy not greasy!! Guac excellent i will forgive them for adding tomato as it wasn't loaded with them i just ate around them Lol! In my guac book of rules there should be no tomato and i'm stickin to that! ;) Ground beef taco so flavourful, crispy tons of cheese!! Massively enjoyable! Shredded beef taco same tender shredded beef flavourful crispy Bomb!! Cheese enchiladas the only thing i got a pic of haha!! We were hungry forgive me! Fantastic!! Yes it looks basic but who gives a shit! Point is it was hot even after a drive across town!! And melty and high quality cheese fuk yeah!! Great sauce, rice and beans very good as well! Last time the cheese was powdery and gross so thank you guys for changing that! It makes a huge difference to the enchilada experience so luscious and very naughty fantastic weekend cheat meal! Haha my second of the weekend yea i'm misbehaving today! back on track tomorrow! ;) I'm happy to update my review you guys Rocked it today my ass got more voluptuous after i devoured my food and loved it!! What a great find! Very affordable Mexican food! We all ordered the nachos! I got chicken my friend got Asada!! Man what a huge plate of loaded Nachos for $10!! Huge plate of crispy chips-very important-covered with lots of cheese, beans, meat, tomatoes, jalapeño, sour cream and guacamole!! Flavor explosion!! Can't wait to come back! Friendly service! Restaurant was a little boring ambiance wise but that's usually the case witness good mom and pop spots! Definitely recommend! read more

Their burrito grande was a lot larger than I expected for the reasonable price. I eat a lot and it was more food than I could eat for lunch and dinner. The food tasted good and the service was good. The restaurant was clean inside, outside, and the bathrooms. read more

Love this place. The service is great, and so far, everything we have gotten has been so good. The restaurant is old school but it's OK, keeps the prices down. But the quality of their food is good... I crave shredded beef wet burritos sometimes, and this is my go-to place. It takes me back to my LA days. I'm glad I live nearby. read more

Everything I've ever tried from here has been absolutely delicious!!! Tonight I tried to steak fajitas and they were literally better than any steak fajitas I've ever had from anywhere in town!! read more
