pricing problems revealed on menu

Food is good but wtf is up with their menu pricing? Not only high-priced add-ons, but the egg price for two versus one is ridiculous.

Chicken fried steak

Order Chicken fried steak for breakfast and a large Pepsi. $20. This was a waste of money. I ordered eggs over medium. They were busted open and over cooked. The chicken fried steak barely had gravy on it and the box was just full of their country potatoes. I ordered for pickup. If you're looking for a country breakfast I don't recommend this place.

Have been passing this place often when going to the store so decided to stop and get some dinner. This is a nice diner which Reminds me of one back in Whittier my grandma and I would go to back in the day. Food was delicious and more than enough to satisfy my hunger. I ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy and corn. This was their daily special. I would definitely come back to try other items and want to try their breakfast next. Service was great and staff was very helpful and courteous. Would definitely come back. If in the area give them a try.

First time here. It's a beautiful Monday. 9:45am Greeted and seated very quickly. The food is extremely soft. And my eggs Benedict were very basic. Soggy muffin. I can definitely see why I see lots of elderly folks in here. Which is great: so if you're trying to accommodate your friend, or Family on the super soft food here is the place. I thought of denture wearers. A place they can feel comfortable eating. Not so savory. Not very good Our waiter was okay. Didn't really go out of her way to help us naviagte the menu We told her it was our first time here and gave us each time very little time to think of Our order. She kept coming asking if we were ready when we weren't she seemed very annoyed and bothered. The restrooms smell they need a good air freshener Will I return no Didn't like my food low quality flavor Portions are big but larger disappointment

Happy Mother's Day! My son took me out to breakfast. Ava R. Our server was very dry and semi rude throught the entire meal. Food was okay. The potatoes were horrible. Dry as if we asked for crispy fries. To top it off, they were handing out carnations to the "Mother's". Guess who ddidn't get one. Yep. You guessed it the only Black mom in the restaurant. Kudos to the other servers who honored the Mother's at their tables. I watched her go to all her other tables handing them out with grace. Sad, but a true reality.

The service is quick and amazing! This is my second time coming here. The food is great but could be better. You do get big portions and the prices are not bad either. The environment is cozy and quick parking too. They had breakfast, lunch and dinner available at 9am on Sunday.

This is the spot for us when we go up to all the national parks in the Sierra Nevada. We usually stop here to have breakfast/lunch as our last "real" meal before our camping our backpacking trip. Overall, the food is decent for a typical local/home feel diner. The people there are great. Our server Rebecca was very attentive and detail. She was also very friendly, calm, and efficient in getting our food and our bill. Will definitely come back again as always.

Half eaten hamburger steak and eggs. I like my meat rare and they cook it perfectly over a flame broiler. Yum

One of my favorite places in Bakersfield for breakfast. My favorite meal is a hamburger steak with eggs. I have eggs scrambled with some cheddar cheese and green onions. I asked for my hamburger steak rare and actually cook it correctly. Use a higher quality meat, tastes like ground chuck cooking on a flame broiler so it has that flame broiled flavor. I get cottage cheese instead of potatoes and biscuits and gravy. Excellent food and the service is also wonderful. The manager is always working right alongside with the waitresses to insure the customer is taken care of.

This time we tried the croissant sandwich, the sunshine breakfast plate, and the French toast combo. When the French toast came out I was worried at first. It didn't look like it was cooked well enough but I was so wrong...it was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. I was most excited about being able to order turkey bacon though. My daughter said her sandwich was good and my husband said his pancakes, bacon, sausage, ham, eggs and potatoes were great. This place has some great food and I will continue to go and try something different every time.

It's not a shock that this is one of the TOP places to eat on Yelp's Central Valley - South list. You'll immediately notice Scrambled's Yelp award at the check-in table. Here's why they have an award: Upon arrival, you'll notice Bakersfield locals come here. We waited about 20 mins as it was quite full inside and we arrived during a Saturday morning (on Valentine's Day). All sorts of guests visit, families, couples, seniors etc. I overheard the regulars say there's excellent mimosas here, I didn't try them but they looked good. Each patron had something positive to say and had a fun little story about their visit to Scrambled. As for my meal, my Mom and I both got cafe de olla which is essentially a Mexican blend of coffee with a hint of cinnamon. Fantastic! Next, I knew this place was known for its Mexican breakfast AND scrambles, so I decided to try the best of both worlds. I ordered a chile verde scramble. The flavor was really good, everything felt homemade. The meat could've been slightly more juicy, but everything worked so well I didn't mind it. The ambiance was moderately noisy, yet relaxed. I got an authentic cafe vibe here as my Mom and I were able to hold a conversation without having to raise our voices. My Mom said she got an authentic Mexican cafe vibe, I can see it! Everyone was super sweet and professional, I felt right at home.

When we walked in we were greeted right away and told to sit wherever we wanted. It was pretty empty but got busier as lunch went on. About 8 minutes after we sat down, Karina (our waitress) came over. She was very friendly and brought us some rosemary lemon waters and a complimentary appetizer of butter-toasted sourdough with an onion garlic spread. I enjoyed it a lot and it was definitely a nice little touch. For the first 10 minutes though we were wondering where the menus were until we realized you have to scan the QR code on the little card that sits on the table to look at the menu! Ha, It would've been nice to have that mentioned when we sat down, but once we figured it out, it was easy. The place is pretty chill. Good verity of music playing. Atmosphere felt lively, lots of chatter as background noise, large windows that let in a lot of natural sun light so it feels open and inviting. They also brought out a free sample of their strawberry fresca, which was super fresh and refreshing. Not too sour nor sweet. We both ordered the Western burger with onion rings and sweet potato fries. Also had to get me one of those fresca's and my hubby got a coke. 25 minutes later our food arrived, and man did it look phenomenal! The burgers are stacked high, patties were thick, juicy and cheesy. The buns all glistening, and it was super saucy, just beautiful and well presented. Lol. Fries and onion rings come in cute little baskets and pots too. The beef tasted so clean and buttery! Completely melt-in-your-mouth awesomeness. Very gourmet and high quality. The bacon was perfectly cooked with very little fat and had such a rich, clean flavor and was just really done well. Quality top notch for sure. The onion rings were unlike any I've had before. They weren't super crispy, more soft and tender, but the flavor was so good it didn't even matter. They were huge and the batter was savory and seasoned well. The texture kind of reminded me of a funnel cake, soft with a little crisp.. very different from your typical onion ring. Their chipotle aioli ranch paired perfectly with them too. (My left over onion rings reheated to crispy perfection in the air fryer the next day!) The sweet potato fries were also really good and had sauce drizzled over the top. My husband mentioned it would've been nice to have some extra sauce on the side for dipping, though. Paid about 68 in total with tip. Not bad. Overall, we really enjoyed everything and are looking forward to coming back.

Service great and friendly. Food is very tasty the chicken moist and had lots flavor. This is not a budget $$$$ friendly place. I spent over $45 on a sandwich & salad. Overall food is good just expensive and small portions.

So we decided to just sit at one of the tables hoping someone would know we were there. A waitress finally came and greeted us. We ordered and wow was this expensive for 2 people. I wish the wait staff would open up their dialogue and ask patrons if it's their 1st time so they can explain what they offer. When we looked at the menus there were no prices. After we ordered the waitress came by and just slammed the portal machine to pay and said when you're ready. We were taken aback by this because she didn't even explain that we had to pay 1st. When we looked at our bill we couldn't believe it for 2 people. It was over $60. The atmosphere was nice and quiet as there were not a lot of people considering it was lunchtime. We didn't know if the soda machine if we could just help ourselves or if we had to ask for refills. The wings were good but hardly any meat on them but tasty. The cheesesteak was made perfectly. The Pismo wrap doesn't need explanation as it was perfect.

This time around, I decided to try out the fish sandwich and my daughter wanted the club sandwich. She absolutely loved her sandwich which is great because as I mentioned...super picky kid. Me on the other hand, not impressed at all with the fish sandwich. First impression was it did look super fresh. The lettuce looked crisp and fresh and the fish was poking out of the sandwich which means good portions. But the fish was a bit dark, suggesting either old or dirty grease or cooked too long? Either way it was bland. I ended up having to douse it with a mixture of tarter, malt vinegar, ketchup and Tabasco sauce. I feel as though since this is a fish restaurant that is from the coast, the fish should be their best dish. But this is twice now that it has failed to impress me.
