I regularly shop at this shopping center and have walked past Sequoia Sandwiches many times, but for some reason, I had never thought about stopping in. Well, I'm so glad I finally did! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. Everyone was incredibly friendly, and one thing that really caught my attention was the positive atmosphere among the employees preparing the food. They seemed genuinely happy, enjoying what they were doing, and working together in such a friendly environment. I personally love seeing that, especially when those are the people preparing my food! I decided to try their soup of the day, which was Country Potato Soup. I'm a big fan of creamy soups, and this one did not disappoint! It had a wonderful, rich, creamy consistency and was absolutely delicious. I also ordered the BBQ Chicken Salad, and I was impressed by the generous amount of ingredients and how fresh all the vegetables were. Everything tasted great, and the salad was delicious! My daughter ordered the Sicilian sandwich and absolutely loved it! She especially enjoyed the flavorful, high-quality meats and how well everything came together. Overall, it was a wonderful first experience, from the friendly service and positive atmosphere to the quality and freshness of the food. I got an email the other day, showing their September special. The Tri Tip Melt. The photo in the email made the sandwich look too enticing to pass up. I ordered this sandwich for myself and a lite lunch for my husband. I got him a half of a hot ham and cheese with their country potato soup. Hands down, officially my favorite sandwich at Sequoia. The Bayou Italiano has salami and Capicola with melted provolone but the star of this sandwich is the muffeletta olive salad. OMG!! You cannot go wrong with this! I shared and I regret it. If you bring someone make them get their own. The butterfinger cheese cake is pretty good as well with the butterfinger flavor mixed throughout the whole slice. I came right before the dinner rush and it was quiet and service was quick. Just went to Sequoia Sandwich Company in Rosedale. Ordered a Baked Potato with broccoli and cheese and the bbq tri tip sandwich. Got out to the car, looked in the bag and noticed the baked potato was good size. However had very little cheese on it. Had to go back into the restaurant and have them add cheese. I made the mistake of not checking the tri tip sandwich. When I got home I put it on a plate and noticed it didn't even look like tri tip. More like the roast beef for a french dip sandwich. It was overcooked, dry and the worst tri tip sandwich I have ever had. Expensive too. Will not be going back. Sequoia, do yourself a favor and take this sandwich off your menu. Absolutely disgusting. So this place continues to disappoint. Not sure what happens to quality control over time. Second time I ordered chili only to get no crackers in the bag. Just a FYI chili should come with crackers! My wife ordered a grilled tri tip and guess what? It was not grilled, looks like they may have touched it on the grill for a second or two. We were there on Sunday at 11:30 not busy at all.
