This spot was okay The thing that I got turned off about on the website says make reservations but it doesn't say reservations for more than two people which they need to change that but anyway we got there It wasn't that crowded so no big deal I just called ahead just in case because it was Sunday well the food was okay That was good they kept the coffee and the water filled up to the point it was getting annoying but I'm glad they were on that I had cinnamon French toast The only problem I had with it it wasn't hot seemed like it was maybe room temperature or sitting out somewhere or whatever atmosphere was nice but the food was like mid. Maybe we got our food too fast because it just wasn't hot I didn't complain but it could have been hotter

Charming little place. The place was packed but we were seated after 10 minutes. Service was on the slower side and it took them a while to take our order and to bring out our food. But when they did it was delicious! My boyfriend and I both had chilaquiles (I didn't want eggs on mine). The serving size was a great amount and it tasted delicious! I like my potatoes diced small and crispy so when they brought them out and they were the complete opposite, I tried them but couldn't get myself to eat them. My boyfriend had ordered a pancake, which they never brought out, and we didn't get a chance to tell them since they didn't come to check on us. We did tell them when we payed. If it wasn't for the service, I would have given them 5 stars.

We love coming here on Sundays. There are so many things to choose from on the breakfast menu. The staff is friendly and helpful. There's a cute little garden area to eat outdoors.

My husband plate. He finished it all!

amazing food and service! This is our third/ forth time here. the size quantity and quality is a bang for your buck. I always have left overs. They need to keep doing, whatever it is they are doing. it is all perfect! Only peeve is that once food was brought to our table, we were never check on by our waiter? Never got another re-fill on my coffee, I honestly did need another???

I haven't been here in quite some time. It was such a beautiful day I chose to sit in their charming patio area. The restaurant is charming with an old school vibe and has one of the prettiest outdoor restaurant seating areas in Bakersfield. It is shaded with trees It's relatively quiet because the entrance faces the parking lot instead of street. Classic rock plays in the background. This is a breakfast & lunch restaurant open from 6:00am to 2:00 pm. One of the downsides to this restaurant is that it isn't open for dinner. The patio is so romantic. Jody was my friendly and attentive server. I ordered the Cobb salad and was not disappointed. It is served with a delicious grilled chicken breast, bacon, olives, bleu cheese, boiled egg on a bed of fresh crispy greens. So if you are looking for a cozy and cute restaurant check out The Village Grill. I will definitely be back soon.

Today my husband and I tried this spot for the first time as we had plans to go to the antique store nearby. It was very busy but we were greeted immediately. We were seated without too long of a wait and our drinks came immediately. The selection of food is small, but it's all delicious diner style options with a good variety of choices. We chose the daily special of clam chowder with fish and chips and it was yummy. My one complaint was that our soup and meals were served all at once, instead of serving the soup first, so we felt rushed to eat while things were still hot. This isn't a dealbreaker, just odd. We will come back with our children and try this restaurant out again. Our waitress was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. I'd love to try the outside patio when the weather is nice!

    French Toast Combo (with fruit)

Came here on a brunch date, was seated and served quickly. The outside area is super pretty, lots of plants and had a lot of small birds roaming the area. The food was pretty good too! I got the French Toast and it wasn't very crispy... but flavor wise was really good! I tried my bfs chilli omelette and it was really good. Would recommend if you like pretty atmospheres and good food!

Ambiance is the best part, outside seating is so beautiful full of plants and birds. Service is lovely, very kind. Food is decent, we love their fries!!!

Egg product. They said you need to request fresh eggs
    Mark D.

In the middle of eggs prices going up. They sold me powdered or prepared scrambled eggs. They were disgusting. Full of water. They smelled like baby formula. Thought people should know. I called and told them their eggs were off. They told me that you need to make a special request for fresh eggs... According to VILLAGE GRILL, You have to request... Fresh..FOOD. I would hope folks would think about that. Can we just do away with places like this. Seriously don't we work hard enough for money to get less then fresh food. - had to come back to add something. My fruit was bad.

She comes from LA so we meet halfway. She is so nice and so friendly. She really won my heart! This is the second time we meet in Bakersfield. I had this place saved for a while now so I was excited for the visit there. We got there and they sat us almost right away. They have a cute lobby before the entrance to the restaurant. There is an old telephone booth and Christmas decorations. Johnny brought us the menu and it was the lunch menu. I saw on line that they had some great food for breakfast and Te-see asked him about it. He told us they were still making breakfast so I got happy. I ordered a coffee with cream and he brought it in a little tray with the creamer on the side. The table was a little wobbly and the coffee spilled all over the tray. Luckily Te-see got that fixed with a sugar packet. Jonny brought me another tray with coffee and cream. Almost everything was plant base, some egg and chicken but definitely no red meat. Unless I didn't see it. So I ordered the chilaquiles rojos and my daughter the Happy-go-Lucky-bowl. Te-see got the torta española and slew got a pancake to shared. All the food came very fancy well presented. Almost like magazine perfect. I loved them. We were taking videos and pictures as we should like a truly Yelpers that we are. Haha! The food was so tasty and flavorful. I loved my chilaquiles. They were perfect for my palate. They were crunchy and still with the flavor of the sauce. So delicious. They came with a little bowl of beans from the olla. (Freshly cooked) Te-see mention that her torta española was great as well. It came with some green salad. And it did really look so good. My daughter got the Happy-go-lucky-bowl. I was surprised she liked it. It was so beautiful presented. Sorry I already mention that. But yes it was pretty. There was berries melon, pineapple. She said it was really good and filling. She couldn't finish it. The pancake we order to share was so healthy made with all the good grains like chia, hemp seed, brown rice, oat flour. So good. It had some bananas and berries on top. Really delicious. I want to go back again just writing about it. I may go back and order different things from the menu. The bathrooms are very clean. Also maybe restaurant is part of the hotel

It's not a shock that this is one of the TOP places to eat on Yelp's Central Valley - South list. You'll immediately notice Scrambled's Yelp award at the check-in table. Here's why they have an award: Upon arrival, you'll notice Bakersfield locals come here. We waited about 20 mins as it was quite full inside and we arrived during a Saturday morning (on Valentine's Day). All sorts of guests visit, families, couples, seniors etc. I overheard the regulars say there's excellent mimosas here, I didn't try them but they looked good. Each patron had something positive to say and had a fun little story about their visit to Scrambled. As for my meal, my Mom and I both got cafe de olla which is essentially a Mexican blend of coffee with a hint of cinnamon. Fantastic! Next, I knew this place was known for its Mexican breakfast AND scrambles, so I decided to try the best of both worlds. I ordered a chile verde scramble. The flavor was really good, everything felt homemade. The meat could've been slightly more juicy, but everything worked so well I didn't mind it. The ambiance was moderately noisy, yet relaxed. I got an authentic cafe vibe here as my Mom and I were able to hold a conversation without having to raise our voices. My Mom said she got an authentic Mexican cafe vibe, I can see it! Everyone was super sweet and professional, I felt right at home.
