I'll start off by saying that this place knows their flavors and seasonings! Our food was packed with both! The home fries were perfectly cooked and again, full of taste! They weren't dry, weren't overly buttery and weren't soggy - right on point. I try corned beef hash everywhere I go in New England and this one has entered the top 3. It's not overly salty, seasoned just right, good ration of corned beef to hash. The only note is it needed just a tad bit more crisp on the top to add that bam! But it was still great! Everything else was flavorful, greatly portioned and well worth the cheap prices given the area. The inside is rustic, clean, airy and bright. Servers were kind and friendly despite being busy. Plenty of parking, but again - it gets fairly packed. PSA: the Barn does get busy, so plan ahead. It's important to be mindful of the effects of COVID on staffing and demand, with that being said - expect a wait even on weekday mornings. This is was no issue for my party and I, as we generally understand the circumstances aren't indicative of restaurant or service quality. read more

I'm driving to The Barn, excited about my meal. I'm picturing a big farm to table breakfast and eating in a barn! *Disclaimer-I have a barn and I do wish to dine in it. I pull up and see there's a line. I do a little flirting and say I'm sooo hungry! Table for uno? Right this way and we're walking up stairs. One thing to point out what I noticed while in Boston. Everyone had on the MTV space suit while dining. In Rhode Island? It was a personal choice to wear a mask. And I dig that! After coffee is poured, I ask, what are hoecakes? My waitress explained them to me, it sounded good but I'm driving back to New York. I'd need a nap if I ate a large portion. My waitress was so nice, she brought me a small one to sample! Very warm and tasty, Im a hoecake fan. Here's where it all got ugly. The menu (which I read too fast) said home STYLE Corned Beef Hash. I ordered it with two eggs over medium. The plate comes to me and it's from a can. Son of a bees wax. I ask the waitress, is the corned beef hash from a can? Yes it is but we add things to make it unique. Oh it's unique alright. The corned beef hash didn't even have a crunchy caramelized top, it was all mush. They added peppers and onions but half way thru I couldn't finish. It was a yuck fest. The Barn, great place for Hoecakes! Hard pass on the canned Corned Beef Hash read more

Very cute place to get brunch. It's definitely easier to get seated quickly as a small 1-2 person party than a large party. Lots of large people in large parties waiting in the parking lot. I was seated immediately. I had a chocolate milk and crab cake Benedict. Chocolate milk was excellent. The crab cakes weren't good; kind of fishy to be honest. What did I expect for $14.50? The home fries were excellent though. I'd give this place a second chance! read more

We were excited to try this place on our visit to Little Compton. Pros: service was super fast, friendly, and coffee refills were quick. We were told a 30 minute wait and we waited only 30 minutes. Home fries were excellent, perfect poached egg, sourdough was excellent, good omelet. Ambiance was wonderful - a refurbished old barn!! Prices were excellent. Cons: eggs bayou was meh - the crab cakes were so-so and the hollandaise sauce was flavorless. Food was room temperature when it arrived. If I came back I would try the pancakes and waffles instead - those might be better. read more

The Barn - Omelet with homefries and sourdough; eggs sardou in the background. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Little Compton, Rhode Island

The barn is a delicious place to get breakfast. I have eaten here twice now and both times were incredible. I had eggs Benedict the second time, which was excellent. The coffee cake of the day was to die for. My husband really enjoyed his omelet both times, as well. The servers are very friendly and personable. You can tell there are many locals who frequent this place quite often. It is very quaint inside and there aren't too many tables which makes it super cozy. We will be back soon! read more

Really a shame how badly this has gone downhill. The service is terrible, barely anyone pays attention to you when you walk in. Every single time I go, we ask for at least one thing that doesn't come out, but always makes it on the bill somehow! The quality of food is trash and you can expect to have severe stomach cramps after eating. read more

This was a great choice! Cozy spot with great food, friendly service, and a charming rustic vibe. A must-visit!

If you are planning on eating here, especially on a weekend; get there early. The place is always packed and for good reason. The wait staff is friendly and willing to always make sure you are happy! The cinnamon roll is amazing! The lobster Benedict was so good I wanted more! Get a mimosa if you want the full brunch experience. The coffee is good as well. The entire is super cute and rustic. It's worth the drIve if you are anywhere in the vicinity. I cannot wait to go back in the near future.. read more

We went on a busy, rainy Saturday around 10:30 and waited about 20 mins or so for a table. . The staff was very friendly and I liked how they all worked together as a team. My husband got a b fast sandwich on a croissant with OJ, he immediately commented how it was fresh squeezed. I got an iced coffee and the crab cakes eggs benedict. . Everything was delicious - we loved the rustic barn atmosphere too. read more

The BEST breakfast in the area!!! Cute atmosphere, friendly staff, timely service and amazing food. I come here every weekend, and they never disappoint. They have a bunch of go-to menu choices on their regular menu, but they also change their specials menu weekly with creative breakfast variations to change it up. My suggestions would be their Eggs on the Bayou (crabcake eggs benedict with a spicy hollandaise sauce), with a side of their homemade coffee cake (changes flavors daily!) Plenty of parking in their lot. The prices are higher than a typical breakfast restaurant, but still reasonably priced and completely worth the food quality! There's something here for everyone - a must try if you're in the area. read more

Simple, good, nice portions. Longish lines but I will be back! Chill vibes and nice staff.

Great food great service great environment. Have been coming here for 15 years and I haven't had a bad experience

Maybe the best breakfast place around (although Belle's in Newport is in the running). We had our first encounter on a weekday and there was no wait (weekends - prepare for a LONG wait). It is cozy with great service. "Bottomless" coffee. We had the eggs Sardou and the daily hash special. The food came out in minutes! Both plates were filled (more than we could eat) and quite tasty. Damages with tip was $35. We'll be back! Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Value 3/5 Cleanliness 5/5 Noise 4/5 (a lot of neighborly chatting) Decor 3/5 read more

What a pretty location in a small quaint village across from the town softball field in, as you'd expect an old barn. Rustic rafters, wonderful old sliding door, lots of art on the walls the setting is a winner. Beautiful warm June day we sat inside because it was the first available table but the outdoor patio is truly inviting with gardens, rock walls and is much quieter. Nicely designed menu, our waitress was delightful and right on top of things, managed to get us a appetizer order of local Adamsville Jonny Cakes to try BEFORE the breakfast orders were brought out. In the south, we call 'em, Hoe Cakes, and no, I ain't callin' anybody a hoe. Each person in our party of four had something less than complimentary to say about their breakfast dish so I'll just concentrate on my order, Eggs Sardou. You see, I'm from New Orleans and was excited to see this hometown dish offered here in of all places. Granted, Eggs Sardou is not the easiest dish to prepare, especially if you are unfamiliar with its correct construction but if you are going to have it on your menu, then you ought to at least serve a fair semblance of one. What I got was, what tasted like, two watery quarter artichoke hearts fresh outta a can, dumped onto a soggy bed of frozen spinach, on an english muffin with a miserly amount of rather humdrum Hollandaise sauce over overcooked hard eggs. If this was creamed spinach, then somebody done forgot the cow for the cream, the lemon for the Hollandaise and the timer for the eggs. But hey, 'dem cubed 'taters were mighty tasty! read more

Best brunch in town. Not the cheapest of places but I think it's worth it. Bring cash, it'll make your life easier.

Fast, friendly service with a smile. Close quarters, but somehow comfortable. Beautiful morning light adds to the welcome. The hash, the hashbrowns, the specialty egg dishes, and weekly specials are worth the sometimes lengthy wait. read more

Today I visited the barn for the first time in probably decades. I grew up in the area and used to frequent The Barn with my dad in the 1990s. There used to be this delightful European waitress who used to wait on us all the time, and I have such fond memories. Today, I went back, and while the staff has changed, it was a wonderful experience. The food was exceptional, and the prices are still stuck in the 1990s. $3 for a glass of juice is unheard of. We started with the lemon coffee cake. It was amazing, and served grilled with whipped butter. I had the Portuguese omelet, and my spouse had the eggs sardou. Both were excellent. I cannot wait to return to this gem. read more

Great experience at the Barn today! Arrived for brunch with my friends and had a short 10 minute wait before we were shown our table. The waitress brought us drinks (coffee was needed) and we ordered. The smells wafting around the restaurant were amazing and added to our anticipation. The food came out and was well worth the wait. I got the blueberry/lemon pancakes (amazing!) and my friends got omelets. We all ordered sides or bacon or sausage and it came out hot and crispy along with our main dishes. Highly recommend stopping by if you have time! (Make time if you "don't" have time) read more

The Barn - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Little Compton, Rhode Island

Met my son, daughter-in-law and 2 grandkids for brunch. We had to wait over an hour to be seated. We ate on the patio; I was under a flowering tree filled with bees, who luckily were too busy gathering nectar to care about me. The chocolate chop, Mickey Mouse pancakes were a hit with the four and seven year old, and the extra attention given to my daughter-in-law's order was spot on. My husband's Johnnycakes were quite tasty and cooked like small, delicate crepes. My eggs were just right and the cranberry nut toast was delicious. All in all, it was a better than "good" meal, but not so special to wait over an hour for. I would give it five stars if the wait was fifteen minutes or less. Perhaps taking reservations might help. If I'm in the area early on a weekday in the fall, maybe I'd go back. read more

Great breakfast made all the better with a seat on their outdoor patio. Exceptional food and service all around. A perfect brunch spot.

Our favorite go to place for brunch! We love all the food we have ordered over the years and the atmosphere of the barn itself. The wait staff is always cheerful and friendly.
