I've visited several times in the last couple of years. My most recent visit was this week (June 2026). [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was very busy for noon on a weekday, though it is summer and the weather was gorgeous.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is clean and well kept.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outdoor area is lovely. There's plenty of seating and a fun tiki bar that opens in the summertime.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For lunch, I got the wild berry iced tea and the breakfast bowl. My sister got the tea and avocado toast. Portion sizes are small, and at cafe prices. The avocado toast was super disappointing... it was one slice of bread, a smear of avocado, and about a quarter cup of chopped up tomatoes. I put more butter on my toast than the amount of avocado this one had. It's a great local spot, but be warned about the food/prices. read more

Why didn't we find this place years ago? Well, as the saying goes "better late than never"! This place is a gem!!!! After fitness walking today I suggested we go check Sunset Cove out. What a brilliant idea! I am a chai snob of sorts. I only like chai made from powder and NOT liquid! Happily Sunset Cove uses the powder and it was delicious! Had mine iced! My husband had an iced latte and he said it was smooth. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat outside in a couple of the adirondack chairs enjoying the view and the breeze off the water.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is also a very nice setting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We both used the bathrooms which were clean and whatever deodorizer they use smells good![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] These things matter too! Man, I was really looking forward to breakfast this morning. Sadly, it just didn't live up to expectations. My avocado toast was pretty bland, to be honest. And the egg and bacon sandwich? Let's just say the bacon wasn't the highlight. Definitely hoping for better next time. read more

I would only give 1-2 stars as hot food received today ( breakfast bowls)$12 ea- were so awful. An overdone egg chopped over weird tasting overcooked bacon and sausage. A teaspoon of spinach on side. Soft over seasoned home fries. I wouldn't be surprised if everything was air fried or microwaved. [[HIGHLIGHT]]However, 5 stars for the beautiful outside area, with nice plastic Adirondack chairs and assorted tables with umbrellas[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I knew I found a new local favorite the second I pulled up to Sunset Cove for the first time a few years ago. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had never heard of the spot, but was looking for a coffee while driving back to Massachusetts, and pulled up to find the most gorgeous hidden coffee shop ever.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You walk in and they have options for ice cream, coffee, and food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was still early in the morning, so I only needed coffee, and then I kept walking out toward the back and discovered an outstandingly beautiful patio with views of the ocean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Genuinely my first thought when walking in was that I needed to have my wedding or rehearsal dinner there, it's just that beautiful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's frequently live music, a lot of people around, great chairs to sit and chat with friends, and even a place to dock your boat if you need to pop in while on the water.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Always a great experience and can't wait to be back. This is such a hidden gem along the Portsmouth waterfront! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is beautifully renovated with lots of seating, and the outdoor area is expansive with patio seating, bar seating and lawn space for customers to set up their own chairs or blankets.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's also dog friendly so you can bring your whole family to enjoy a lovely day on the water, and their live music outdoors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All the staff were so friendly and helpful, and I loved how fun the bar atmosphere felt. People who ordered food after us were getting their food before us and we were told, "sorry, someone forgot your order." Additionally, the staff were very short and rude to us. The bacon, egg, and cheese had absolutely no taste. The bagel was burned and had no butter on it and there was more bagel than contents inside. Was not a good experience on July 3rd. My friend and I ordered around noon. Took the beeper and waited outside at table. Friend came back with her meal and my drink - not sandwich. She said there was no sandwich. I went to counter. They were just cooking it kind of saying I did not order it. I did NOT pay $9.27 for a small ice tea. Anyhow the grill cheese was not hot and very flat. I did not eat it. Friend did not like her roast beef sandwich and did not eat it all. Came in not sure what to expect and was blown away! The gal at the counter was super sweet and helpful. Recently hooked on non dairy options, found out that they have a variety of creamers, syrups and even offer decaf espresso! There were a few bakery options and a made to order menu. With a variety of seating from in doors to outside, all with a gorgeous view overlooking the water, there is a spot for everyone! read more

I didn't catch his name but the gentlemen at the front counter was great! He was quick and efficient and even running orders out to people in between taking customers orders. We've now been a few times. In the evening and for breakfast. The dinner menu is sandwiches so it's limited but they are really good. The breakfast sandwiches are the best around. Real eggs, fried perfectly with a generous portion of ham or bacon. We had one on a bagel and another on an English muffin. Both were great. There's plenty of room inside and outside on the water. It's a cute spot and convenient when I'm in town at client's but two small so-so margs for $28 is insanity to me. Never again. The second time I went was for breakfast. The pistachio muffin was satisfactory but could have used more pistachios and pistachio flavor. I'd certainly come back for the specialty coffee called Coyote Coffee, as it was a tasty sweet treat with a caffeine kick but that's probably it... Much better local options near by that the quality reflects the prices IMO. read more

This place is all about the view. It's a great place to sit and relax. It's clean and the food is ok. Their drinks though are priced higher than anywhere else I've been. Almost $30 for a can of beer and a mixed drink is crazy! If they came down on those a bit I might go there more often. read more
