It is nice to know that some good things don't change (much). We used to be regulars at the Brickway in the mid 2000s and had many an enjoyable meal- they used to have a particular table assistant (whose name is temporarily escaping me) who always made our son feel like a superstar. We returned this summer and it was as cute and funky as ever and was still delicious! When I order an omelette at some places, I feel like the ratio between eggs and toppings is a bit off and it tastes like I am just eating plain eggs. Eggs, bacon & sausage links - all cooked well to order. The French Toast needed the peaches as it would have trouble standing but itself (flavor wise) as it would otherwise have been a bit bland. I've had it twice now and it's so good. Also, I've gone on a weekday as well as a weekend and have had no wait to be seated. The decor is really fun and funky with the murals on the walls and mismatched furniture. The wait staff is friendly and willing to make up for mistakes (ex. my omelette was supposed to come with home fries, which the chef forgot, so the waitress brought out a hot, extra large serving after I pointed out the error). Very colorful and bright interior! I really like the art on the walls. Ideally you can come in with a party of 2-4 because the tables aren't that big/spacious. They have a pretty extensive menu but I always order the french toast with homefries and either sausage or bacon. I can't really say that the food is magically delicious or life-changing, but it's a good way to check off your first meal of the day! The lemon yogurt added a nice tangy flavor to the French toast but the French toast itself was kinda soft. It didn't have the crispy outer coating and it was just mostly soft and moist all around. Blueberries were pretty small so they didn't contribute much flavor. Overall, the French toast was just alright. Had better The service was great and attentive even if it was super busy.
