I wanted to try this place because of the reviews. First off there is a lone $ meaning the value was cheap, expect it to be more like $$ (breakfast for 2 with tip beween $40-$50). The food was for the most part pretty good. The big dissapointment was the crab cake Benedict, for the price a peice of crab would have been nice but most likely a frozen generic cake with some crab flavor. Another shocker was the price of 2 coffee's at $7 and change. The servers were nice and the place was clean. I don't want to deter anyone from going here but I will say I most likely wont be a returning customer as the places I frequent are the same quality food just much cheaper. read more

Went for breakfast with my son. He was paying so I had to jump on the offer usually it's me who pays for him lol. Walked in and was seated right away. Same waitress as usual always very friendly and great at keeping things moving in such a busy establishment. Food came out pretty quick. I ordered the hungry man scrambled with cheese, sausage & sour dough toast with blueberry pancakes. Eggs were great home fries delish toast was good just wish sausage was a little hotter but still good. Blueberry pancakes were good but a little too overloaded with blueberries which made it a little mushy. But definitely a great meal. Place is small but always busy. They get you in and out. Solid breakfast place. It can be pretty busy on weekends and parking is mostly street. Staff is really nice and attentive. Prices are very reasonable and food fresh. They have whole wheat pancakes. Came to visit Sons here in Rhode Island and this place came up to eat. So very glad we came here the 2 ladies were friendly helpful and great environment. Food was hot and amazing and plentiful. Amanda's is A-Ok. Cheap, fast and decent food. There are a few parking spots and on street parking. Inside it is tight but there are some tables and counter seating. Our waitress was nice, seams clean and overall a decent place to have breakfast. The heated up the coffee roll for my daughter and my french toast was soft and not too much cinnamon. read more

Greta Lilly breakfast place in Pawtucket. Clearly this is a spot for regulars, which is typically a good sign. It was! Very friendly and attentive staff. I sat at the counter and watched the cooks crank out the breakfasts. Pretty wide variety of standard breakfast place meals. I had the Country Benedict. Sausage and Gravy over poached eggs on an English muffin. The gravy was great and the eggs poached perfectly. I would ask for crispier muffins next time, but that's on me. The potatoes were also good. Left on the flat top to crisp up with a little bit of onion in them. Tough to decide what to order on my next visit, this was so good. read more

This is definitely one of the better options for diners because of the menu, but it's a little over priced for the quality. The boyfriend and I spent almost twice the amount that we normally spend and it was up the par with every other diner out there. There isn't much parking and it can be inconvenient to park in the 5 car lot on the corner of Smithfield and power Rd. Inside, it was very small but when you get a seat and ordered the food came out pretty timely. I ordered the crab cake Benedict. It was pretty good, the egg was cooked perfectly and the hollandaise was pretty tasty even though it could of used more. I also think that it could of used some kind of bread because the crab cake was way to soft to use as the base of the Benedict. I ordered the Benedict thinking the crab cake would be similar to a normal Maryland crab cake since that's what was advertised but sadly it was far from a Maryland style crab cake. The grilled blueberry muffin I got was good but it's hard to mess up a blueberry muffin. I don't know if I would so much dine here again but it is pretty good and as good as people say, just don't forget it's still a diner. read more

a friend moved into a new neighborhood and we ventured here.m, my first time. Very welcoming, clean and retro. The diner counter is a prominent position to the clean kitchen where delicious home fries are piled up and eggs are made perfectly to order. The service is friendly and fast. The decaf coffee you'd think would be like every other diner but this was creamy and sweet. The pancakes were flavorful with plenty of butter on the side. The eggs with cheesy and again the home fries were oh so delicious. Looking forward to an omelet or French Toast next time at this cute and inviting spot. read more

However, the homefries were a bit spicy, the omelette was way too overstuffed with the meat (but the cheese was so good), and toast was a little burnt. But it was edible to some degree. On the outside, it looks like someone's house. The parking lot only fits about 5 cars, there is a front and back door, and I believe we passed a doorbell on the way in. But on the inside, it was clearly a super cozy diner. Some highlights: 1) Coffee was AMAZING. No need for cream and sugar and endless refills. 2) Food came out SUPER FAST. Good for if you're in a rush. I mean lightning speed (probably about 6 minutes since we ordered) 3) Definitely get a grilled blueberry muffin. It was HUGE (just like the portion sizes in general here), perfectly warm, salted and buttered. YUM! 4) The food in general was absolutely fantastic. I got the Healthy Breakfast Special: egg whites, wheat toast, home fries, and wheat pancakes. You would think that a "healthy" breakfast wouldn't taste as good as a normal breakfast, but it was all so well prepared. Portion sizes were huge - enough for three meals. And the final price tag came to only $10 per person (including coffee, muffin, and meal). I'm surprised that Amanda's hasn't gotten more press. It is simply a gem and should be included in any list of top brunch places in Providence. read more

Amanda's Kitchen is a tiny diner which has become my standard destination for breakfast when staying in Providence. Orders are taken and food served, along with conversation, by Amanda herself. You can get a good breakfast of 2 eggs, bacon and hash browns for $3.00. A ham and cheese omelet and hash browns will run you $5. A delicious American breakfast, the cheap prices and the unique atmosphere created by eating breakfast elbow-to-elbow the locals all combine to make a great experience. It beats any greasy fast food franchise or hotel dining room packed full of boring business types. read more

The staff at this diner make you feel so welcome as soon as you walk in. They make everyone feel like a regular there, and they seem to remember all of the regular's food orders. They have strange hours (like 11pm-4am) so I only recently had a chance to go in, and I'm very glad I did. I enjoyed the Amanda's corned beef hash and sunny side up eggs. They made an adorable Mickey shaped pancake which my daughter loved! It is a delightful place that puts me in a good mood when I leave. read more

Found a hair in my food and my plate wasn't compensated. Really disgusting and disappointing experience. It was my first time here with my boyfriend about two Saturdays ago. I ordered our food which went really smooth but when I received my plate there was a hair in my melted cheese. Me and my boyfriend both had our hair up in ponytails and this specific hair was short, thick and curly. I also work in the food industry myself and when this happens, the customer gets their plate free, no matter what because that is your way of saying "I'm sorry this happened", that's great customer service. Everything from high end restaurants to food trucks do this, it is standard and it is not the customers fault. Your JOB as a waitress is make sure these customers come back, that they have a great experience. This isn't rocket science. This place is super small so if I would've said something right away I'm sure everyone would've heard, and I am humble enough to not make a big deal out of it. I automatically ASSUMED my plate was free regardless if they made me a new one or not and at the time I felt bad and didn't want them to waste food. The food was trash already, if they were going to make me a whole new one which I didn't want food waste, that plate should've been free. So I moved the cheese to one side of the plate and covered it with a napkin because it was disgusting to look at and ate some of the potatoes on the other side of the plate. I basically picked at it but I don't come to restaurants and pick at my food, I eat it, this was obviously not a good experience already. The waitress came back and I discreetly told her and she said "I would've fixed it for you" and I said it's was okay. I didn't want a new plate, I didn't want to waste food, doesn't meant I still want to pay for this disgusting plate in the first place. At one point I even pointed at the hair for her so she can see how disgusted I felt and she obviously didn't care about my experience: The bill came and she charged us for both plates and couldn't even look at my face when she handed me the bill. Such terrible service, it wasn't honest and didn't care about my experience as a customer. I was so upset when I left that I didn't have an appetite to eat breakfast for a whole week because I would think of Amandas and my stomach turned. I was traumatized. Not just because of the hair, but also because of how the waitress made me feel. She made me feel like my experience didn't matter as a customer and in return I felt ashamed I ever picked at it, I questioned myself like if I was the one who did something wrong. What kind of place does that to their customers? This restaurant messed with my self esteem as well as my spirit and I will never come back because you had the opportunity to do right and you made the wrong choice. For any waitress reading this that works at Amandas, do not charge the customer when there is hair on their food, it's really simple. I don't care what they train you to do. You do the right thing ALWAYS. You do everything you can to boost your customers to feel amazing by the time they leave the restaurant. Your reputation, your integrity, your tip depends on it. I could train you guys better than the waitress who took care of us. I will never take this waitress seriously when she couldn't look me in the eyes when she gave me the bill. She knew she was wrong and still did it. What a joke. read more
