I'm allergic to cheese and I asked for cheese not to be on my sandwich and they still added it and my bread on my sandwich was really burnt

Nice brunch spot for the COVID-19 era! I have eaten inside (good spacing and staff are all wearing masks) as well as outside in their patio. Omelets are yummy! And the food comes out very quickly. Reasonable prices and prompt service. Also, there's ample parking (which you can't always count on when getting brunch on the weekend). My friends and I really like this place!

Forgot my syrup but this is 10/10 amazing

Well I've been 3 times now so I think I can give a little review. They have a decent sized restaurant in a little strip mall with very limited parking. 5 or 6 cars in front and the rest where they fit. We walked in this morning and the whole diner smelled like pot smoke. Wow! We sat down, and the two guys next to us absolutely reeked of smoke. They were laughing and snorting and waiting for breakfast. Ah, the morning entertainment. I have had breakfast and lunch. Prices are reasonable. Portions are average. Service is good. Waitresses are friendly. I have seen them and kitchen staff out talking with the customers. Eggs, home fries, toast, a cheese omlette, turkey club, hamburger... everything average, reasonably priced. Not uber impressed, but I would certainly add them to the breakfast rotation.

When we're craving something a little more thoughtful than the standard eggs-and-toast routine, this is where we land. The menu is creative without being over the top, the flavors are usually dialed in, and it consistently feels like brunch with intention. This last visit, however, turned out to be a bit of a mixed bag. We sat at the bar around 1pm, which is our usual move. The service was great. We were welcomed right away and had drinks in front of us in no time. I ordered a draft Blue Moon and my partner went with a glass of wine. Both were cold, fresh, and exactly what they should be. We started with the lemon ricotta donuts. These were delightful. The texture was spot on, tender and light thanks to the ricotta, with that perfect sugar coating. I would have loved a slightly more assertive lemon flavor in the dough itself, but they smartly included thinly sliced lemon rind on top so you could dial it up yourself. A thoughtful touch and a really nice way to begin the meal. My partner ordered the avocado toast for her main and it was as beautiful as it was flavorful. The sourdough had a great chew and structure, the avocado was well seasoned, and the sprinkle of cotija brought just the right salty pop. Bright tomatoes, pickled onions, microgreens, everything worked together. This dish absolutely delivered. I went with the Eggs Benedict Florentine, which I've had before and really enjoyed. Unfortunately, this time it missed the mark in a few areas. First, the poached eggs. The whites were a bit loose in spots and the yolks were slightly overdone. I know poaching can be tricky, it took me a while to master at home, but it was surprising to see the interior more cooked than expected while parts of the white still lacked structure. It was manageable, just not what I've come to expect here. Next was the mustard hollandaise. I was really looking forward to that punch of mustard, especially since I've had it shine before, but this time it felt muted. It was also looser than I prefer in a hollandaise. I love a good hollandaise, even better a béarnaise, and this one just didn't have the richness or body I was hoping for. Then there was the tomato. I understand we're not in peak tomato season, but even so, I can usually find more flavorful options at local markets and grocery stores. It appeared to be a standard beefsteak, and it just didn't bring much to the plate. A Campari or another variety with more natural sweetness and acidity would have elevated the dish and complemented the nicely cooked, flavorful spinach far better. On a positive note, the bolo was excellent. Such a great choice over the traditional English muffin and a perfect fit for a local spot like this. It had great texture and the slight sweetness usually balances the mustard hollandaise perfectly. Overall, Avenue N remains a place we truly enjoy. This visit just didn't quite live up to what we know they're capable of. I'm confident it was an off day, and we'll absolutely be back.

Service was friendly & helpful, and the menu offers many delicious sounding options. Food is fast casual style (order at the counter, get a card - here all were west side street signs, not the usual numbered placards, food will be delivered to your table. I had the avocado shakshuka, my husband had the lox omelet (see the photo). Despite the large menu of fancy coffee options, we each had a basic iced. It was served in a glass, which was a nice touch. Self serve milk was at a station in the dining room area. Coffee was good, cold but I would have traded some coffee for a bit more ice to stay that way as I drank it slowly. Both of us were surprised when our meals were delivered: the plates were beaut! In particular his omelet was absolutely gorgeous! Now for the flavors: the omelet had a generous helping of perfect cooked eggs (not sitting in a pile of grease, as restaurant omelets frequently are). It was so fluffy that we both thought "that's way more than the advertised 3 eggs," and the lox was thickly layered whole slices nestled inside the fold. Most places chop the lox like vegetables, add it to the eggs, & make it like a veggie omelet - meh. This iteration was perfect; the lox tasted like smoked salty fish, losing none of that flavor to the omelet itself. The potatoes? Fabulous! Great spice mix, cooked until they were crispy. That was a tasty bit of marble rye toast too. My shakshuka was very good, but a bit less successful. The elements were all excellent; the avocado was actually guacamole since it was mashed & there were tomatoes and spices in the dish. The combination worked, except for the bread element. The dish as presented was really more of an avocado toast with shakshuka on top. It might have been more successful to add the avocado/guacamole as a unique base on the plate, with the tomato sauce and eggs on top with toast on the side (as is the way shakshuka is traditionally served) because halfway through the bread got really soggy & less appetizing. Still, the first few bites, while everything was still warm? So good!

For the RI food fights challenge, they were serving a CRU Cookie Blazer--an iced dirty chai latte with hazelnut and vanilla syrup, vanilla cold foam, Oreos, and CRU mocha sauce. It's not normally on their menu, but they'll happily make it if you ask! This one was definitely more of a sweet treat than the bold coffee flavor I usually gravitate toward, but if you love dessert-inspired coffee drinks, this is right up your alley. I'll definitely be back because that lobster avocado toast has my name written all over it.

I was torn between the pancakes and the biscuit with strawberry jam, but Caro suggested that I get the pancakes WITH the strawberry jam - this was a game changer! food here was good, but also quite expensive. we got the lamb sausage, hashbrowns, deviled eggs,…read moreand biscuit. the lamb sausage was fantastic, the fennel mint and onions paired super nicely with the juicy and fatty sausage. it was a well balanced and unique dish that was totally worth it. hashbrowns were also fantastic, i've never quite had a hash brown with that texture, super crispy but not too oily while maintaining a good salty potato flavor. the deviled eggs were nothing to write home about and the biscuit was solid, i wished there was more jam though. my main complaint here was the service. it took an hour to be seated which we expected, but the tables around us were getting free desserts because of the wait time, yet we weren't offered one. we all arrived at the same time and waited the same time, which rubbed us the wrong way, but didn't mind too much. the main thing that off put me was the 20% service charge at the end, we were not told by the front desk person or our waiter til the very end when we got the check about this. it was also not stated on the menu. for a party of two i was shocked that we were forced into that amount without anyone informing us about it. this should 100% be put on the menu or just told to customers. i don't mind tipping this much but i truly do believe the patron should tip based off of the quality of food and service, rather than being forced into a certain amount without prior knowledge. it's not a deal breaker whatsoever, but id like to be told up front about it this sort of stuff. overall i would totally come back and try some more of their food options, i also now know what to expect price wise. i was a little disappointed on service but the food is worth it.
