A friend and I hit this little gem this morning. Upon stepping in, right off the queer o meter is a solid 10. Nice! The staff was smiling, warm and friendly. The layout is small, about 8 booths maybe?! And 4 or 5 tables. I'm sure there's a line waiting out the door on nice days. Fortunately it was a dreary cold day and we sat right away. They came by to top off coffee throughout our brunch - which is great and the coffee was good! Much better than I expect from most places. I got the steak fajita - the steak was thin slices seared perfectly with nice seasoning laying atop a nice mound of peppers and onions. The side plate of refried beans, rice and lettuce/salsa was fresh and tasty too. I prefer black beans but the refried weren't too heavy and nicely seasoned as well. I'm not sure what my friend got but it was eggs over house made tortilla chips with a green salsa (that's what it looked like to me at least) and he said it was delicious. I was too busy with mine to try it. Even though the place is small and there were some people starting to accumulate at the door waiting, we never felt rushed by staff. Which I appreciate and don't take advantage of, because well it's not how I roll. I also loved the entire menu was available at breakfast time. The prices aren't cheap average meal with a non booze beverage I'd say is about $15-20. I don't mind spending my money on good food, good service and a nicely run local establishment. Food: I've been here a good amount of times. But this time I ordered the motuleno. It was yummy and I love how the tostadas added texture to the dish with the sunny side up eggs on top. The plantains were cooked perfectly and the home fries were soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. My friend ordered the loaded chicken burrito and she said it was good. The portions are pretty big and We both ate everything haha. Service: Our waitress was super attentive and nice. She checked in on us often and made sure we were really hydrated. Ambiance: I love that they added booths. It really brings a nice and cozy feel to the restaurant. It's not a large location but there are a good amount of tables to eat at. read more

This is a small but cozy space with a few booths and some tables. The waitresses that were working the day we went for lunch were very friendly and attentive. We ordered the chicken quesadilla lunch and the steak fajitas lunch with flour tortillas. Loved that the chicken in the quesadilla was pulled / shredded making it easier to eat. The steak was perfectly seasoned and the platter came to the table sizzling! Everything tasted great and the servings sizes were very generous. They had a full cocktail menu as well as coffee, fresh juices, soda, bottled or tap water. Would definitely come here again and try more delicious menu items! We were enjoying a lazy Sunday around the house and decided to grab a late breakfast at Francesca's. It was our first time here, but after viewing their menu online, we were eager to check them out. They serve breakfast and lunch all day and incorporate both traditional American and Mexican offerings so there's something for everyone. The inside is small space with booths and tables and they even had a few 2 person tables outside. There were a few open tables when we arrived, but they turned over quickly so there was a steady stream of people coming and going throughout our time there. They were out of the quesa-birria tacos, which was the one thing that I wanted to order, so I asked our waitress for a recommendation and went with that instead. The food was tasty and the portions were generous, we will be back for more. They don't take Apple Pay and if you use a credit card there's a 3% surcharge added to your bill so bring cash if these things make a difference to you read more

This is the best Mexican food I have had in a while. If you like Mexico and El Rancho Grande, you will love Francesca's. I wish there were more stars to rank this place. Yarelin, our server was amiable, gave suggestions when asked, served our food efficiently, and checked in often. This was the best Mexican food I've had in the U.S.! The shrimp fajitas were sizzling hot; sweet peppers and onions were tender, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. The handmade tortillas were also piping hot. The chicken enchiladas were excellent. The salad was crisp and fresh, refried beans were not too thick or thin, and the rice was tasty. This restaurant is one of my favorites on the East Side of Providence. It's a relatively small restaurant and can fill up really quickly, but that never deters the staff from being quick and responsive to your orders. I've ordered various breakfast dishes and they're always good! I ordered the Lisboa Omlette yesterday, and it came with home fries, I chose Rye toast on the side. The omlette has chourico (Portuguese Sausage), onions, broccoli, and swiss cheese. This omlette reminded me of one that my mother used to make for me as a child, dellllllish! The prices are reasonable, staff are pleasant and they're overall a measure of consistency which is so much appreciate from their customers. Still a very solid choice for breakfast or lunch! I had the basic egg, bacon, toast, home fries meal but subbed out fruit for the potatoes (and don't think I was upcharged for it). The scrambled eggs were cooked on the griddle I think, so they were a tad past the "soft scrambled" phase. My toast choice was an English muffin; perfectly toasted to be nice and crispy crunchy but regrettably drowning in butter (like I turned half upside down and the plate ended up with a small butter puddle on it). Some people would adore it this way but I'm partial to a simple schmear. My dining buddy had a cheese omelet, home fries, and rye toast - toasted a beautiful warm brown and with just the right amount of butter for me, shining on the toast without running across the surface. There's been some refreshing of the interior since my last visit, and it's a bit more contemporary inside. Still with a nice, inviting, comfortable feeling. The covid-era plexiglass barriers between the booths actually added some privacy/noise reduction, so I hope they stay up. Even with Francesca's putting money into renovation and physical updates, prices are still affordable. The food quality is reliably good, with many excellent options for Latin-inspired or more traditional English/American-style breakfast and lunch. read more

This used to be Connie's, my dad's favorite breakfast spot. So when we were in the air and decided to stop for lunch I said I know where to go but to my surprise Connie's is no longer and Francesca's is open. Francesca's promotes a Spanish/American cuisine that serves breakfast. There was outside and inside dining option. We chose inside. (Looks very different from how Connie's was set up.) Our waitress was friendly and attentive. They have a lot of specials posted on the wall, including pumpkin pancakes (sounds real good for this time of year!) I stuck with a 2 egg with extra crispy bacon breakfast. It was ok- my husband mentioned he thought they were microwaved. I asked for dry toast but it came buttered. Not that big of a deal. Nothing earth shattering here. They did make a large chocolate chip pancake for my daughter but she isn't fond of real maple syrup so she ate it dry. We came for a late breakfast. Small place with limited parking. They have a menu with good variety and offer specials. We had their homemade juice, which we really like the passion fruit. We had the canolli french toast which was delicious. We also had the Mexican style breakfast and the chicken fajita omelette, both were good. We ended up getting takeout for dinner on the same day. I had the Edgar shrimp and my husband had the empanadas, they were great. The service was good as well and pricing was average. We will definitely go back. read more

My partner and I don't go out much anymore thanks to Covid and new found food allergies. It's incredibly difficult to go out to eat and feel safe not only with what we're eating but where we're eating. However, when you're driving 5 hours to pick up a new family member, you have no choice but to eat out. We scoured our route and found Francesca's along the way. Not only were they VERY accommodating to my partner's gluten allergy, but I was able to find a low-carb/keto option that was not only delicious but super affordable. Francesca's is a must for any one looking for gluten free food. Even if you're lucky enough to not be celiac, you're going to be amazed at how good everything tastes here. We parked down the block and the whole area smelled amazing. Seriously, how do people live near to Francesca's and not stay in a constant state of hunger? My partner was able to order gluten-free huevos rancheros and I opted for an omelette that was equally delicious! The staff took cross-contamination really seriously, and that was apparent by how many locals could be heard ordering gluten-free options from all around the restaurant. More than that, for anyone who was worried about covid, the staff was all wearing masks and many patrons had them on while they waited for their food while we were there. This was a great experience and one of the few times we were able to eat out in 2021. I'd love to revisit it next time we're in the area! read more

Checked out this little gem with my kiddo. We arrived about 45 mins before closing. The staff were very friendly and were patient with us. For us to be so close to closing they were patient with taking our orders and having the food delivered right on time. The space is small which of course fits for the breakfast/brunch setting. I ordered fish and chips and my kiddo wanted pancakes and eggs. The waitress was attentive and accurately put in our order. This seems to be a popular spot for the neighborhood. The guest and staff was very nice to all and engaged in conversation about their whereabouts. Will absolutely return. Only downside that I was kinda disappointed with was the fish I think was your typical frozen kind. I was hoping it would be fresh and with their own battered. The fries were great. Really excellent Mexican staples, with the added bonus of a breakfast menu--including Mexican breakfast items. The Motuleno platter is delicious, and on a recent visit I had the birria tacos and they were some of the best I've had. This feels like a family place, and the food has a home-cooked vibe. Prices are fairly reasonable and the service is efficient but doesn't hover. So glad to have a location nearby. Highly recommended for low key breakfast or brunch. read more

Another Birria test. They passed. So delicious, crunchy and cheesy with flavorful caldo. A side of fried plantains offered a nice sweet contrast. Booths are tight quarters but at least you won't be slouching over your food . All in all a great lunch that makes me want to return. read more

Like many other reviewers on here, the warm friendly service cannot be beat. It's a cozy space that seats probably about 20. Love the unique Mexican & American offerings. We got a tostada with eggs, pico de gallo, sweet plantains and home fries. They were crisp and hearty, the home fries had good browning in them, but weren't crispy. The Mexican omelette was huge and filled with corn, beans, tomato and avocado. The eggs themselves needed more salt. The fillings were delicious. We also got blueberry pancakes which we weren't a fan of. They were dense and doughy, slightly underdone. Definitely trying more savory fare in the future. read more
