Have yet to be dissatisfied with anything here. Nice hearty breakfast plates for less than what you expect. It's a small dining area, but worth the wait if it's busy.

This review is long overdue. I moved to Riverside about 2 months ago and found Farnsworth Cafe on a walk. It's about a mile from where I live so, perfect for a morning stroll to grab a bite. Always busy yet, they never make you feel rushed. Food is delicious (if you get toast, get the italian) and prices reasonable for the quantity and quality. They obviously have regulars because more than once, someone walked in the door and got a greeting straight from "Cheers". It's really the place where everybody knows your name and very inviting. My s/o and I have eaten there a few times as well as getting take out once. Even getting take out, their fabulous personalities shine. Accidentally called after they closed for lunch and the man (oh how I wish I got his name) told me, "I'm not goin anywhere, I got you. Whatya like?" He then made me and my s/o scrumptious noms for us to come and grab. I was just there today for coffee and french toast. No photos to share for that but, I posted some pictures from a couple visits ago. I highly recommend giving them a try. If you don't like something, they'll give it their all to make it right!

Nice neighborhood breakfast spot! This local spot was busy when we visited and they still were able to serve us quickly. My breakfast was cooked perfectly. Waitstaff was super friendly and checked on us several times for drink refills, which was nice. Definitely worth revisiting!

Upon arrival there is no host. There's a small waiting area where we sat until a waitress stopped by to ask who was next to be seated. We ended up seating ourselves at the counter where it took a while to be noticed. Most of the staff clearly work their tails off. Some of the staff clearly don't. I had the waffle and it was pretty good. Not particularly memorable. I tried my husband's homefries. They were cool and a bit undercooked.

The only thing is there is nothing else nearby serving anything similar. So it's not great but it does the job.

He genuinely cares about his restaurant and the people he serves. A lot of owners would get defensive over something as minor as "the home fries weren't well done enough," but not Ari. We've been to Hamilton Diner many times and the food is consistently delicious. On this visit, our home fries weren't quite as crispy as we'd asked for. It was a small thing that honestly wouldn't have affected our rating at all -- we know how busy things can get. What impressed me most was Ari personally coming to our table to apologize and bringing out a fresh replacement. He didn't have to do that, but he did - and that's exactly why we'll keep coming back. Thank you, Ari, for your compassion, your humbleness, and the pride you take in your restaurant. You and your team are doing it right. Also sorry for the lack of photos, we dug right into our dishes. GLUTEN-FREE FISH & CHIPS ALERT!…read more My quest for finding gluten-free fish & chips has finally ended in my very own neighborhood. We did it. Well, CRU PVD did it, & I ate it & loved it. The vibes of CRU are immaculate. Retro, friendly, comforting, & suave. The quality of food to price of food ratio is inspiring - I love a heaping salad with seasonal fruits & vegetables for just $8. Most of the menu can be made gluten-free, which brings a tear to my eye. Don't sleep on the pan-fried turnip cake. Sounds strange, right? I crave it constantly. I haven't been to brunch yet here - I'm not a big brunch guy, what can I say. But that seems to be a hugely popular event here. Also check out their calendar of events. Everything came out fresh & well prepared. One unexpectedly fun detail? The self-serve water station! Loved being able to choose between bubbles, cold-ish & ice cold water (a small touch, but honestly such a great idea). I had a last minute invite this morning to join a friend's reservation. I have heard great things…read moreabout this place but hadn't had the opportunity to visit yet. So it was an easy yes, to say the least! When I arrived, I walked around the corner to the entrance on Rochambeau. The waiting area inside is bright, colorful, decorated with some personal tokens, assorted cookbooks and accolades. You can just see into the kitchen and suddenly the chef and owner, Milena Pagán will appear over the cafe style doors to greet you and get you checked in for your reservation. Highly recommend a reservation if you plan to come on the weekend. The place was busy! We were taken to our spots at the bar and greeted by Milena's partner, Darcy. He took care of us from start to finish. I could not resist the brunch prie fixe menu for $45. What a steal. An entree, house made pastry, juice/coffee/tea and one of the house cocktails. I chose the shakshouka, a cardamom knot, the guava-pineapple fizz and the rebujito. I also added an iced horchata latte because I was at brunch after all! We had our drinks and pastries in front of us quickly. My juice was refreshing, tangy and just a hint of sweetness. I love guava and this was exactly what I wanted. The latte was simple but effective, hitting the spiced notes you want from horchata with the depth of good espresso to back it up. The latte in particular was delicious with the cardamom knot, the two harmonizing together for a moment of heaven on this rainy Sunday afternoon. The outside of the knot was caramelized in spots adding this great crunch and the inside was soft like a cinnamon bun. My friend mentioned it was one of her favorites and I can see why! When the shakshouka came out, the smell hit me first. Warm tomatoes, the herbs from the chimichurri, and the tostones fresh from the pan. The presentation is beautiful, inviting you to dig in immediately. I of course opted for the smashed avocado upgrade and they thoughtfully plated it on the side. I like to taste everyone together so I added it to my skillet, and began eating the dish using my tostones as my utensil. It was amazing. All those smells I mentioned before played through beautifully in the tasting. It was one of the best dishes I've ever had. My only wish was for more tostones but I know if I had asked for an additional side, they had that as an option to take. I'll make sure to do that next time! The rebujito cocktail was something I hadn't tried before so I was looking forward to it. It felt like the kind of drink you have on a hot summer day. Similar to a mojito, but with good sherry as the base alcohol instead of rum. As a side note, I think it's an incredibly clever to create a cocktail menu around sherry when you have a beer and wine license. Using a fortified wine? Brilliant. But after my experience here today, I know that brilliance is in every brick of that space. If you were like me and haven't made the trip to this spot on the corner of Hope and Rochambeau, please fix that ASAP! I can't wait to go back, and bring all my friends and family here so they can share in what I enjoyed today. Just an incredible meal and service.

Idk regardless was good and it came with grapefruit jam and butter yum. The hash browns were hands down my fav dish. So oily and crispy and everything a hash brown should be MMMM plus the aioli and cubed presentation. The pancakes were so good and fluffy and GIANT and the whipped butter was yummy on top. The maitake madame was something different but nonetheless good. It was very mustardy but also not too overwhelmingly mustardy and the cheese on top the crispy bread was perfect. All in all the food was superb but the long wait time is what ultimately brought this rating down. The place was also very crowded and lively up until closing, no doubt due to the delicious food
