My mom and I had the literal best experience of our lives here. The staff is absolutely wonderful and so sweet. As people passing through looking for a cute breakfast spot, they made us feel like locals and our hearts were so happy and our stomachs full. I got banana bread French toast, which was incredible. My mom got eggs and shredded steak and said it was delicious. They have homemade bread and jams that are out of this world. 10/10 would recommend. If I could give this place 1,000 stars, I would. Eating here feels like getting a big hug from a beloved family member. It fills you with warmth from within. Every breakfast place I go to, I compare to the food at Country Kitchen. To be honest, I haven't found a single place that is as good. I'm always so impressed by the service. The waitresses are always on top of it, refilling coffee, bringing homemade jams, and are always so friendly. The food is out of this world. The place is small, but clean and comfortable. So much of their menu is homemade and you can taste the love they put into it. Their homemade breads and jams are out of this world. The homemade hashes are also not to be missed. Really good breakfast food here. Came on a sat morning although gets packed pretty quickly. Space inside is not that big. Got the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs. Beef hash was pretty good though the home fries were better. They also have home made breads and jams which were very good. Overall good place for breakfast. Only thing is they're only open till 11 on sat and 12 on sundays. Also not sure if they accept cards..most people were paying cash. read more

I came here looking at Yelp and seeing all the good reviews so I went in expecting low ambiance amazing food according to all the reviews I didn't get that I ordered 3 plates ready to indulge myself the Benedict was not topped with hollandaise sauce more like nacho cheese. To me that's awful, and the Mexican style Benedict was anything but Mexican (I'm Latino I should know). It was full of beans and ground beef and tasted like hamburger helper. I don't wanna say the beans came from a can but that's what it tasted like. I also ordered a French toast and the bread was good but the sauce they provided was just heated up jam that you can buy off of stop and shop, very bad. The third plate was another eggs Benedict thinking that I could get away from the nacho cheese substitution they use instead of hollandaise. Maybe they thought the nacho cheese was Mexican so I got another type and I got the same nacho cheese topping, which I already stated that was awful. Holy hole-in-the-wall, Batman, this was some of the best breakfast we've ever had. I ordered a spinach mushroom feta omelette with extra spinach, and the house made chorizo hash with house made pumpernickel and house made strawberry rhubarb jam. The hash was out of this world...soft, a little heat, delicious. The bread and jam was heavenly. My partner had the meat-lovers omelette, which he declared "the best d@m! Omelet I've ever had." He followed it up with the brioche French toast with marscapone and house made raspberry sauce. He kept saying, "Yes." And devouring it. Coffee mediocre, everything else was to die for. The Country Kitchen is my favorite small town diner near my hometown. Found on Route 44 in Seekonk, MA this restaurant has preserved its 'country' and homely feel, welcoming customers into what feels like a small kitchen or dining room of a house. Though the seating area is quite small (7 tables and a bar with stools) the personalities that walk through the door make it a comfortable and friendly environment to eat in. I've most recently stopped in for a quick lunch on a weekday. . . and what a pleasure it was. After ordering off the menu posted above the bar stools (with a quick glance at the handwritten specials for the day), my attention turned to the jovial cook at the grille flipping burgers and making jokes with the regulars. It's safe to say the staff knew at least 75% of the names of people coming in the door! I don't know what it is about this place. . . but it brings people together. Breaks down the barriers we put up against the strangers in our lives. One person sneezes. . . and without hesitation, the whole bar, sitting at their well worn-in stools, yell out "Bless You!". Perhaps its the homemade pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or the coffee served in various mugs collected over the years. Either way, the food is delicious, the atmosphere welcoming, and I give it two thumbs up. Open til 2 pm most days for breakfast and lunch! Absolutely adore this place...found it a few years back and went weekly for at least two years!.The staff is friendly and the array of home made foods is impressive. Now that we have moved we don't get to go as often as we used too but it is soooo worth the drive! (Yes, typical RI'er here) We have kept our obsession for Country Kitchens "Banana Bread French Toast" or BBFT as we call it - a secret - but now I feel obligated to share with fellow Yelpers! It is so delicious - the home made banana bread battered in an egg mixture and slapped on the flat top and cooked to perfection - makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Brought to you steaming with an ample amount of soft butter melting over the top. Both cooks i have seen are very nice and take pride in the food they serve. I have also tried the Pumpkin Bread French Toast (when they had sold out of the banana for the day) and it was equally satisfying however a tad spicy for my liking (I think 1 slice pumpkin to 2 slices of banana would be the perfect blend - going to have to ask about that next time we stop by) The homefries are great because they come with no onion (for the hubby) and I add onion so we are both happy! We have had had the bacon as a side which was good but I would reccomend getting the sliced off the bone ham - they give you real thick pieces that have been reheated on the griddle (no lunch meat thin cuts here) The also have homemade jellies and scones that I hear people rave about - but we have just always been too full to get to try them! The ladies and gentlemen that work here are always very accomodating and once they know you - it's like your family. Very nice group of young adults to seniors that have fun doing what they do best - get you in, get you fed, and get you out. The atmosphere itself isn't much but I am sure that has to do with the small size of the restaurant itself. They do have local maps, sports memoribilia and local event bulletins to look at while waiting for your food. The menu is overhead on an old fashioned looking diner board and the specials board (where you will find our beloved BBFT) is always teeming with an abundance of omelets, pancakes, eggs benedict, blintzes, etc.) this place has a little bit of something for everyone. I think there are 8 or 9 small tables and then counter seating - we often find on busy saturday and sunday morning, sitting at the bar lessens the wait and you get to interact with staff and fellow patrons. The small space is always well filled and the bathroom is tiny but clean. If you have issues with claustrophobia, this place may not be for you. They have hot coffee, iced coffee and an assortment of teas in addition to the usual fountain beverages, milk and juices. Stop by and give it a try if your in the East Providence / Seekonk area - it's well worth it. read more

When the waitress started my meal by serving hot chocolate with real whipped cream, I really thought I found something good. Sadly, everything to follow was your usual greasy spoon fare. The food was good and it's a cute place, but there's no "touch of love" from an 80-year old behind the counter or anything. Interesting finds were: Raspberry Corn Pancakes, Sweet Bread French Toast, and some tasty looking omelets. Oh country kitchen. I have only eaten here once. It is THE last place around this area that has good old time food in a close knit community. Everyone knows each others names, and you can see the regulars come a wassling in. The food was great, the iced coffee unlimited refills and the workers a pleasure. If you want a cozy place to come and eat breakfast at an ungodly hour in the morning. Then this is the place for you! The bathrooms are indoor now too! I absolutely love this place. The gals running this place are amazing. I sat and watch them run around making sure everyone had coffee at all times. They have, get this, Pumpkin Bread French Toast. Country kitchen is small, cramped, and you can hear every word spoken. Last time I was there, they had a big fan blowing across the room. There's a counter covered with various bottles of hot sauce. The menu is small. The usual breakfasts and a half dozen lunches. Chili dogs, hamburgers, tuna sandwich, and a burger patty with potato and vegetable. Small place. Small menu. The food is not bad. I've been going on and off for years. I wouldn't consider it a destination restaurant but it's fine to stop in and get a simple meal. read more

I was surprised at the little containers of homemade jam, and the woman who rung me up told me to get the raspberry as it was the best of the bunch. I can't say I agree with her as I need to try the other flavors as well, but that was some tasty jam. AWESOME BREAKFAST HORRIBLE LUNCH We visited this place twice, the first time for breakfast and the second time for lunch. We were a party of four and all agree that the breakfast was delicious! Traditional American diner food with homemade bread, jams, and lots more. Great waffles, eggs, toast, etc. And all for decent prices. We were very excited to return but so disappointed. We ordered the meatloaf which was dry and flavorless, it came with carrots and green beans which were boiled and yucky, the dish was only saved by the lumpy mashed potatoes and was eatable thanks to the gravy that was poured over everything. We also ordered the steak and mushroom sandwich. Expecting a steak and cheese grinder of sorts it completely missed the mark. the meat was again dry the bread was lousy and the portion was small. Our dinner mates had a double cheeseburger which was not asked about the temp and came once again way over cooked and super dry. The fries were obviously frozen. Also ordered was a bowl of the beefsteak soup which was filled with the same beef as the other dishes but had mixed canned vegetables. I was very surprised that they wouldn't even cut their own veggies to put in it. All in all the homemade parts of the menu (mainly breakfast) knocked us out of the park but stay away from everything else. read more

I used to go there a long time ago. And it was much better. It is inexpensive but the noise level is so loud you can not hear what the person across from you is saying. The food came out at all different times, cold toast and alpo for corned beef hash. On yelp check in you can get 10% off one meal. Sounds great, until you do the math it was going to be 60 cents.
