Came for breakfast during the week & there was hardly anyone here. We thought uh-oh. We were so pleasantly surprised though because it was one of the best breakfasts we've had since visiting Providence. My husband got an omelet with sausage & peppers and man, was it loaded!! He said it was probably the best omelet he's ever had. No lie. The potatoes that came with it were plentiful and I shared them. They were so fresh, we ate them all! Not deep fried and over-cooked, they had actual flavor! I had the breakfast sandwich which was also fresh and delicious. The coffee was served in to-go cups which I prefer bcz it keeps it hot! I visited caspian early on a Friday morning. There were 2 or 3 couples seated inside the small restaurant at the time. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the service was great. The gentleman that took my order was attentive and efficient. I ordered the oatmeal and 2 eggs over hard. Everything came out hot in about 5-7 minutes. Loved the oatmeal paired with small chunks of red apples, raisins and walnuts. The eggs were cooked perfectly! This was the perfect breakfast for me while I was in providence for work. So sad to say that this was a first time visit to this sweet little cafe but not a satisfying experience. The omelet was scanty in filling and not at all tasty . The accompaning hash browns were overdone and a majority consisted of burnt bits. The toast was cold when delivered so the butter that we had to pay an additional cost for was also cold and therefore was not spreadable on the toast. Coffee was quite strong even with sugar in it. Caspian is under new ownership, and the owners are super helpful and concerned about their customers' wellbeing. They're from near the Caspian Sea, hence the name, so the items like the Falafel and Gyro are authentically made, and the omelets are AMAZING. As for the food, it was just mediocre. I expected a bit more quality. We got egg and cheese croissant and corned beef hash omelette which comes with a side of fruit. My croissant was a bit burnt and the side of fruit was practically a joke - half a strawberry, one tiny slice of kiwi and half slice of orange is not what I expected. There are quite a bit of breakfast places in the neighborhood which might be worth trying before hitting this place. As for parking, there's a parking lot at the back which was convenient. read more

It's a cozy establishment with incredibly friendly service. There are outlets along the walls in the back, with really comfy high chairs. Because they have wi-fi and it was really quiet when I was there, they're a great alternative to the always-crowded Coffee Exchange down the block. In terms of food, they have a lot of sandwich options, but to be honest, I wasn't entirely satisfied with the price for the size of the sandwich (paid about $9 for a small sandwich and a small bag of chips). I got the curried chicken sandwich, which was tasty, but would have been better if they made them on larger slices of bread. Their other options are probably tastier and more worth the price you pay, so I'd probably give it another shot to try their brunch items. read more

We ordered two eggs and home fries and toast with a side of crispy bacon. The eggs were a bit dry from being overdone, the home fries were a little too done as well, and the bacon was burnt. Then, we ordered the eggs Irish. Overall good, just the home fries were a bit too crispy. Lastly, we had the B + R omelette. The black beans made the texture of each bite interesting since beans are soft but I thought it was better than I expected. I usually stop in for a smoothie (Leafy Libra) which are fresh and the best in Providence (easily) or a Vanilla Nut espresso (the best). Today I stopped in breakfast, from time to time I'll grab breakfast or a gyro if I have time. All their food is very good, it's nice spot to go alone and read or come with a few friends. Also their lunches are good, I like the steak and cheese. Finally the service is amazing. The owner has only a handful of workers, so you get to know them quite well. Instead of apologizing for the wait, the woman out front (the owner?) was, let's just say it, brusque. We'd been waiting an hour for ... um... eggs and toast. Maybe one order of bacon... an apology would have gone a long way with us. Once the food came, it was perfectly OK. However, the lattes tasted muddy - maybe stale beans? or the machine needed cleaning? - and the absurdly long wait made clear why they weren't nearly as busy as the other places on Wickenden. However a few minutes later I heard someone order a ham omelette. The way they raved about it, to the patron, I asked could I change. They happily abided me. I can't believe it took me so long to find Caspian! I had been to Caspian (previously Cafe Zog) to grab smoothies, very good btw, but lately I've been sampling their breakfast menu. Their pancakes are my favorite so far and their eggs are simple but have a little extra seasoning that makes them so tasty! The service is fast, friendly and professional.
