First off- The Cure was playing when we entered. I immediately felt a kinship to this place. Good jams are always appreciated. It's in the 'basemet' thats above ground in a providence city house/building. Very city like. Doesn't feel like a basement. Love the vibe here. Very clean, modern and subwayesque. The girl behind the counter was very nice. Helped guide me through the choices. The two 11 year olds just went with their order! Love their gumption. I was a little disappointed with my end result. I did not discuss bob beads with the girl as I am not a fan of them. My drink was riddled with Boba. she was super accommodating and drained the beads. My drink was much better after the beads were gone. I went with a honey milk tea. It was alright. Not as tasty at matcha but I would say it wasn't because they made a bad drink it was just the choice I went for was not as good as other choices I would say. I would go back again. (The 11 year olds did agree, the boba place we went last week was better)

kung fu tea is located on the lower level of the townhouse building, it will have a clear signage for the entrance and you would take the stairs down to kft and the noodle house. the place is cozy and dim, standard for boba places. there are seating areas for people to study in or hangout, and a slot for pick up orders at the very end of the room where the to-go noodle booth is located. staff is friendly and the boba is always soft! i love their bogo deals every now and then, and i'd say this is my go to place for boba in providence since i do prefer their sizes over the other competitors'. i do want to suggest to carry more natural ingredients like taro and floral teas!

Located in the heart of the Brown U campus, get your boba fix now. Friendly, prompt service; reasonable prices; variety of flavors; not too sweet. Support your local small businesses

Chill vibe insider. Service was good. When we asked the cashier what rosehip was she was able to explain to us what it is. I ordered the wintermelon milk greet tea, which tasted pretty good. I normally order the wintermelon milk tea, so that taste was a little different for me but was still good. However, was not a fan of the tapioca pearls since there were not soft and chewy. The other drink ordered was the rosehip lemonade, which was so good we actually came back to order a second large cup.

Best Kung Fu Tea location I've tried! We ordered a large Matcha Milk with Boba. The Kung Fu Tea I've tried in Cali was not good, so I was surprised at how much I liked this spot in Providence! The location is right next to campus and there are a lot of flavors. Maybe we were lucky, but the boba pearls in our drink were SO good!!!! Like, the texture was the perfect chewiness and the perfect sweetness. I usually don't like boba pearls because they can be hit or miss, but the boba today was really incredible. The matcha drink itself was pretty good, but I truly think those boba pearls swept me off my feet. Service was fast and the ambiance of the inside was quite cozy. Sometimes boba pearls can be too hard or chewy, but somehow these pearls were just right. And that's rare! So pleased with my experience here today.

Thank goodness Kung Fu Tea was open on Thursday following our fantastic Providence Ghost Tour! The night was chilly, and the hot Coconut Milk Tea was the perfect remedy to cap off the evening! It's the cutest little shop, located just off of Thayer Street, where cool Brown University hipsters gather to catch indie movies or nosh on some poké or vegan bites. You'd probably miss it if you weren't looking hard enough, but when you need a tea fix on College Hill, Kung Fu Tea is the place to go! It's pretty simple on the inside in terms of decor. A few colorful posters touting their most popular bubble teas dot the walls, along with a flat screen TV with a video of a fish tank on it. Oh, what's bubble tea, you ask? It's a popular Japanese treat that features chewy tapioca "bubbles" that sink to the bottom of your cup of tea. They also offer fruity "popping bubbles" if tapioca isn't your thing - and it's not mine, but many folks just love it! The menu is super extensive, with choices for everyone, including hot teas, iced teas, and even tea slushes! While I stuck with a simply prepared creamy Coconut Milk Tea, which was amazing on the fall night, I definitely have my eye on some of the more unique options, like Yogurt Grapefruit Tea, in the future! Kung Fu Tea is a small tea chain - I've also been to the one in Boston - and I think it's decent. It can get a little pricy depending on what you order, but the quality is pretty good, and it's not usually inundated with 20-somethings! In terms of Yelpology: "Yay! I'm a fan!"

OK, I'm back, I'm sorry, I needed the LOO And now I'll introduce you to something NEW I'll give you yummy Boba to CHEW That defines a five-star REVIEW Lemon Black Tea's what I'll give to YOU It has a lot to LIVE UP TO But I know you'll share my POINT OF VIEW Like the 90's web you'll scream YAHOO Palestine will hear you louder then NETENYAHU Who's big on Google but not on YAHOO Crap I just double-used YAHOO Oh well, Altavista's dead, Excite TOO And no, my income tax returns aren't TRUE But like Joey said, that point is MOO So before we get audited by internal REVENUE Let's go and get Boba from KUNG FU! (And let me know please when you're period's DUE) WHAT One of the very best KFTs in the country, and the best Boba shop in Rhode Island hands down, with some of the best employees. What to get: Lemon Black Tea With Tapioca! Or: All the fruit teas are pretty good, especially if you go off menu and get black tea! Or: Go crazy and order your fruit teas with the very strong Oolong! Or in winter: Any of the hot milk teas! Which milk teas are best: Honey Oolong! Oolong! Maybe Taro or Almond! I also love the regular milk tea with Oreo! It was pouring with rain outside so I took refuge for a couple of hours inside Kung Fu Tea of Providence, which was my fave place that I hung out in all of Rhode Island - for the people here, as well as my lovely drink. Which is a Lemon Black Tea. It ended up being one of the very best Kung Fu Tea locations that I ever visited. My Lemon Black Tea was delicious and the service was wonderful. They were extremely happy and excited to see me, and I don't even think they recognized me from the internet. I'd give 5 stars just for service so friendly, even though some of the people that came in and out were not as friendly. Funnily enough I had a better time here than at any of the KFT locations in Boston, of which I visited a good half dozen or more. Here, the managers and the employees are some of the best around and we had a nice long chat. In conclusion, I'll be back here every time I'm in Providence, and I look forward to Bringing Barbie here in the very near future. And even when my car broke down on the way here... I Rhode the rest of the way. Get it. Rhode. The tea shop with the best employees Is one of 1,000 Kung Fu Teas Mean customers can't spoil it Now I'm off to the toilet Where Barbie needs me on my knees

KFT used to be the only boba place on the street (pre-Vivi), but even despite the competition (pink walls and fun board games), I still choose KFT. If you walk into this establishment expecting to be blown away by original, seeped teas, you can walk right back out - but, if you come here expecting a small pick-me-up, you're guaranteed to have a good time. Compared to other milk tea shops in the US, KFT is lacking - but for Rhode Island standards, it's not bad. (Though, I wouldn't recommend their taro.)

It's not the best tea I've ever had. The milk tea is a lot more sweeter than I like and what I've had from other tea spots but it's not terrible. I'll probably try more flavors next time.

I walked into a space that is bright and well designed, with large windows bringing in natural light on a sunny day and a layout that works for both sitting with a drink and getting some work done. The matcha program is the reason most people come here. I noticed the menu follows seasons and trends in a way that keeps the offering from feeling static, and the flavor combinations go beyond what most cafes in the area attempt. I tried the strawberry matcha, which is the most liked drink here, and it was decent. The hojicha latte is a strong alternative for anyone who wants something with a roasted, earthier quality rather than the grassy brightness of standard matcha. Sweetener is an add on rather than included by default, which is worth knowing when you place your order, particularly if you are accustomed to cafes that automatically offer a simple syrup option. The menu also extends into wine and cocktails for evening visits, which gives the space a different function than a typical daytime cafe. Consistency on the matcha is mixed, with occasional issues around mixing and clumping that affect both the flavor and the texture. When it is well made, the quality is evident. The cafe gets crowded and loud during peak hours, so visiting on a weekday or arriving early on weekends gives you a better experience of the space. Parking in the area is manageable compared to most of Providence. For a matcha focused cafe with a unique menu and a bright, comfortable space, Ceremony is worth knowing about.

I went in with a craving for something sweet, creamy, and cold, but ended up going for something light and fruity: the peach Yakuit slush. It was only $0.80 more to go from a medium to a large so I went for it and also added aloe for $1. The total was around $7-$8. I did use one of the two kiosks they have since it was my first time there and I wanted to take my time exploring the menu. It was super easy to use, only accepts card payments, and will send you a text when the order was placed and when it's ready. While I waited, I took in the details of the place, including the soft pastel colors and also the theme of squirrels which are one of my favorite animals. I liked the art on the walls, and they've used the space well with some tables along the window looking out to Thayer street, while others hugging the entrance ramp. I did not interact with the staff but they looked like they were killing it behind the counter to push out orders in a timely manner. When I did get my order, I thought it was pretty with a rose pink slush, bright pieces of peaches, and bottom layer of white aloe. I tried shaking it a bit to try to mix it up but it didn't work too well. They have straws with a thick opening to get the chunks through. The slush was very flavorful and a good consistency.

Coming from the Bay Area in California, I have had so many boba spots and this one ranks so high and has become one of my favorites!! I absolutely love their black milk tea, but my partner loves their jasmine milk tea. You really can't go wrong with either. The store is also super cute and cozy, and it has a good amount of seating which makes it perfect for hanging out or studying! I also always get the combo with their fries or chicken, and after trying all of the flavors, I can confirm that they're all super delicious. It's a small tea shop in providence that offer toppings such as boba and sides like taiwanese chicken. They offer different tea toppings like boba, crystal, jelly, ..etc and also sweetness, milk substitute and ice options. Parking is street parking only and can be difficult to find during busy time. Inside is nicely decorated and has good aesthetic. Seatings are limited so I would not expect to find one unless you are lucky. I guess the name of the place is derived from cha which means tea in Chinese and Daruma who is a founder of zen Buddhism. They have a mascot who looks like Buddha holding a bubble tea. I ended up ordering black milk tea with boba and taiwanese popcorn chicken with seaweed and salt/pepper. Tea came out right away and was pretty good. Good tea flavor but maybe a bit too sweet. Boba is home made and its nice and chewy and no inconsistency. I would do 75% sugar and less ice next time for my liking. Taiwanese popcorn chicken was juicy and flavorful. We also got lucky with seating so we sat down to enjoy their food and drink. Service was good and no issues. Overall the place is pretty good. I think everything was good quality and definitely one of the better tea/fried chicken place around RI. If it was in more convenient location I would definitely come back often but I would likely only stop by if I'm already around the area. I did like the place.
