I went to the store and asked the staff member for assistance. After a few minutes of trying it on their end, the staff member couldn't figure it out either. I had 2 drinks and the hot cocoa in my cart, so he asked me to remove 1 of the other drinks but it still wasn't working. He informed me that I could order and pay for the drinks and then contact Kung Fu Tea through instagram to get a refund for the hot cocoa. I said sure. I sent a message to Kung Fu Tea through instagram, but didn't get a response. After 3 days of waiting, I filled out the contact form on their website https://www.kungfutea.com/contactus and the next day, they got back to me. They apologized for the inconvenience and credited my account to be used towards your next visit. Never fails me! They are always great and my to-go location when I want a sweet treat. I've noticed they're thriving with a soon to be, addition of noodles section within the store. Staff are always prompt (as much as they can be with crowds being their normal) and kind with recommendations. Counters could use more cleaning but I always order to go~ definitely use the app to get your order ahead because it has taken staff around 15-20mins for completion(no fault to them, they cater to lots of students in the area and the high foot traffic). Parking is hard hardly ever a good spot nearby if this is your main purpose in this area. Plan ahead and plan on staying for a while on Thayer street or park far for a good stepping goal. Kung fu tea has great Boba and bubble tea options. I usually go in on a super hot day and grab the frozen options, which are fabulous and I would definitely recommend. I got the strawberry flavor and added Boba to it, which was really good. I definitely liked it frozen rather than the milk tea option. I've tried both and the frozen had a way better flavor. First off- The Cure was playing when we entered. I immediately felt a kinship to this place. Good jams are always appreciated. It's in the 'basemet' thats above ground in a providence city house/building. Very city like. Doesn't feel like a basement. Love the vibe here. Very clean, modern and subwayesque. kung fu tea is located on the lower level of the townhouse building, it will have a clear signage for the entrance and you would take the stairs down to kft and the noodle house. the place is cozy and dim, standard for boba places. there are seating areas for people to study in or hangout, and a slot for pick up orders at the very end of the room where the to-go noodle booth is located. staff is friendly and the boba is always soft! i love their bogo deals every now and then, and i'd say this is my go to place for boba in providence since i do prefer their sizes over the other competitors'. i do want to suggest to carry more natural ingredients like taro and floral teas! read more

Chill vibe insider. Service was good. When we asked the cashier what rosehip was she was able to explain to us what it is. I ordered the wintermelon milk greet tea, which tasted pretty good. I normally order the wintermelon milk tea, so that taste was a little different for me but was still good. However, was not a fan of the tapioca pearls since there were not soft and chewy. Best Kung Fu Tea location I've tried! We ordered a large Matcha Milk with Boba. The Kung Fu Tea I've tried in Cali was not good, so I was surprised at how much I liked this spot in Providence! The location is right next to campus and there are a lot of flavors. Maybe we were lucky, but the boba pearls in our drink were SO good!!!! Like, the texture was the perfect chewiness and the perfect sweetness. I usually don't like boba pearls because they can be hit or miss, but the boba today was really incredible. The matcha drink itself was pretty good, but I truly think those boba pearls swept me off my feet. Service was fast and the ambiance of the inside was quite cozy. Thank goodness Kung Fu Tea was open on Thursday following our fantastic Providence Ghost Tour! The night was chilly, and the hot Coconut Milk Tea was the perfect remedy to cap off the evening! It's the cutest little shop, located just off of Thayer Street, where cool Brown University hipsters gather to catch indie movies or nosh on some poké or vegan bites. You'd probably miss it if you weren't looking hard enough, but when you need a tea fix on College Hill, Kung Fu Tea is the place to go! It's pretty simple on the inside in terms of decor. A few colorful posters touting their most popular bubble teas dot the walls, along with a flat screen TV with a video of a fish tank on it. Oh, what's bubble tea, you ask? It's a popular Japanese treat that features chewy tapioca "bubbles" that sink to the bottom of your cup of tea. They also offer fruity "popping bubbles" if tapioca isn't your thing - and it's not mine, but many folks just love it! The menu is super extensive, with choices for everyone, including hot teas, iced teas, and even tea slushes! While I stuck with a simply prepared creamy Coconut Milk Tea, which was amazing on the fall night, I definitely have my eye on some of the more unique options, like Yogurt Grapefruit Tea, in the future! They were extremely happy and excited to see me, and I don't even think they recognized me from the internet. I'd give 5 stars just for service so friendly, even though some of the people that came in and out were not as friendly. Funnily enough I had a better time here than at any of the KFT locations in Boston, of which I visited a good half dozen or more. Here, the managers and the employees are some of the best around and we had a nice long chat. KFT used to be the only boba place on the street (pre-Vivi), but even despite the competition (pink walls and fun board games), I still choose KFT. If you walk into this establishment expecting to be blown away by original, seeped teas, you can walk right back out - but, if you come here expecting a small pick-me-up, you're guaranteed to have a good time. Compared to other milk tea shops in the US, KFT is lacking - but for Rhode Island standards, it's not bad. (Though, I wouldn't recommend their taro.) read more

The lack of a good place for boba on Aquidneck Island has had me go away from the island all the way up in Providence but it's worth the drive! I go to a weekly moms group that's about a 5 minute drive away from Kung Fu so for the last few weeks, I've been stopping by here to get my boba fix before heading to the moms meetup. I LOVE their mango (and passion fruit) green tea with boba (it also has mango jelly in to as well) - but sadly, had to switch to a fruit based slush the last time I went because I'm currently breastfeeding and noticed the days I had the green tea boba, my baby would be super fussy later on that afternoon. I concluded that he may not be taking the caffeine quite well as I really don't drink coffee or anything with a lot of caffeine to begin with. I do like their pineapple slush though! It had mango jellies a long with bubbles! The menu is very extensive, so I was a little overwhelmed when ordering, however, the staff is very helpful and patient. The cafe overall is very clean, and my roommates and I ended up sitting down and talking for a few hours while listening to the chill music. It's been a while since I've been to Kung Fu Tea and I swear it gets better every time. I usually get the taro slush; sometimes with boba, sometimes without. This time, I got it with boba and was surprised to see that they serve the boba mixture warm at the bottom underneath the cold slush. The drink was the perfect sweetness and the boba had just the right amount of chew to it. They've definitely revamped their boba since 2018. I'm generally a huge fan of Kung Fu Tea and have been to numerous locations in Houston, Dallas, Bay Area...and this is the first location I have had a problem with. I've visited multiple times over the last month just to make sure it wasn't just a one-off, but the boba has been stale every time. The boba vary in hardness and some get stuck on the teeth. It makes me very sad because Kung Fu's honey boba made correctly and served fresh is delicious. The Kung Fu Milk Tea itself (without the boba) is as usual, but it's just a powder mix so not much can go wrong there. If you frequent, I recommend getting the app to earn points/rewards. read more

(You'll see the options when you get to the register, but there's 0%, 30%, 50%, 70%, 100% and 120%). You can also choose the amount of ice you want, or if you want it warm, and which add-ins you'd like. I got the taro green milk tea with bubbles, 30%sugar, and it was perfect. The only downside is that I have no self-control and killed it in less than 10 minutes. Perennial favorites include the matcha red bean slush, the taro slush, the rosehip milk tea, the coconut milk tea, and the grapefruit yakuit tea which tastes like springtime in beverage form. No joke, it's not a cocktail or even pure tea that evokes that but bubble tea. Also...don't hate but the pumpkin spice black tea in the fall is shamefully good.
