While at the mall, we saw that their was boba and I got excited this was the place. I been wanting to try it since I saw Felix from Stray Kids (my skz bias) was an ambassador. The cashier guy seemed tired and didnt really have a welcoming expression. It didn't take them long to make our drinks. Caramel milk tea was really good. Nothing strong. The caramel brulee brown sugar was ok. It seemed to lack drinking straight through. Mixing the caramel brulee milk foam with the actualy milk tea made it a lot better. read more

Orders are prompt and always have a good order. Recently, Gong Cha collaborated with Peanuts. For a limited time, Gong Cha is selling @snoopygrams limited edition tumblers and if you spend $15 or more, you can get a free Snoopy Straw Topper. I love Snoopy so I really wanted the straw topper. I came on a Monday afternoon and used the self-order kiosk to order 2 large drinks. I previously commented that the self-order kiosks were slow and sticky to use, but this time it was fast and working much better. Drinks are always good and bubbles are fresh. I hope Gong Cha continues their different collaborations and the Providence Place mall location receives the merchandise. read more

For a "mall" location, it was surprisingly quiet. The drinks were made quickly and correctly. I ordered the brown sugar milk tea at 50% sugar. Even at 50% the tea was quite sweet. The tables were sticky and littered with small pieces of trash. Considering there were two employees in the front and only two customers, I found the dirty tables a bit unexpected. The price was average for a bubble tea location. I would likely stop again if shopping, but I wouldn't come out of my way to this location just for a drink. read more

I was a bit worried before ordering because of the review. Drink - I ordered the oolong milk tea with pearl/boba. The milk tea was good, I would drink it again. I didn't change the sweetness and it seems like the default was 75% which was good. As for the boba, it was not good. It felt old, and not chewy. The texture was weird as well. I am unsure whether I will get their boba again but drink itself was fine. The staff was quick and nice. The drink came out very quick as well. The store itself had some tables and seats inside. I've always enjoyed Gong Cha because of its consistency, and some nostalgia factor because it was one of the first actual boba places that I started going to in California when I was younger. I try to get a new drink every time I go to try everything on their menu. I got the milk foam wintermelon tea with boba, and even with 75% sugar, the tea was too sweet. I would recommend going down to 50% if you're getting something like wintermelon. However, the milk foam was a delicious addition as always and the boba was nice and chewy. They initially forgot my boba, but the employee was kind and immediately made me a new drink when I mentioned it to him! read more

Never thought I'd see the day when I'm giving Gong Cha less than five stars. My girlfriend and I made a pit stop here after touring the Providence Place Mall, expecting a really good refreshment, but that is NOT what we got. The only pro of this establishment is that the service was fast and the staff were very friendly. My girlfriend is my best friend, especially when it comes to food, so we always get the same order of boba-- strawberry green tea with a 30% sugar level and regular ice. We are from Boston and have no problems with Gong Cha up there, it is always consistent. We got our drinks within 10 minutes of a rush, but there was a huge discrepancy in flavor between our drinks. My girlfriend's drink was overly syrupy, to the point where you could taste the slimy fructose syrup's texture in your mouth with each sip. Mine, on the other hand, was lacking syrup and was pretty bitter. Hers was of a dark color, and mine was yellow, despite both getting the same strawberry tea. Needless to say, we were a bit disappointed with our drinks :( read more

I usually love Gong Cha - living in Boston, it's a go-to for Boba. It felt like a no-brainer heading here for boba in Providence, but I can honestly say skip it. The service was good - the cashier very kindly confirmed our order to make sure everything was accurate, which was appreciated; the boba also came out very fast, given that it was crowded. However, it lost stars for me with the taste. My girlfriend and I both ordered strawberry green teas at 30% sugar, hers with mango pearls and mine with the white pearls. While it all came out accurately, the sweetness disparity lost me. Hers was NOT sweet as all, and mine started out overwhelmingly sweet with a syrupy taste that dwindled as I drank more, and it ended up flavorless. I always get this sugar level, and it has always been great from the Boston locations. This was so disappointing, since Gong Cha is one of my go-tos for boba in Boston. I cannot say I enjoyed my drink from the Providence location and would say to check out one of the other places in the area. Definitely not worth $7 for this drink. read more

Very disappointed with one of the workers that took my order. There were more people behind us but they were asking for orders at the self checkout. After odering i waited infront of the waiting line and saw that all the customers that order through the self checkout got there orders even even if they got there 5 minutes after me, I waited about 15 minutes and still nothing. I ask the worker, "Hey l've been waiting for my drinks for 15 minutes, what's going on cause I notice the new customers getting theredrinks first and I know you guys take our order but I havent heard it yet",and he replies "oh, they probably stole them" which makes no sense cause I was waiting and didn't hear my order being called even once. read more

This bubble tea place opened in the mall just a few days ago and it's already become a favorite spot of mine. Places to get tea, coffee, or specialty drinks are limited in the mall so I was happy to see another option become available. Located in the former Pinkberry spot, Gong Cha is just a short walk from the food court, sort of diagonal from Johnny Rockets. The inside has a minimal and clean aesthetic with a few tables for seating. There are so many delicious options available and it was hard to narrow down which drinks to choose. The staff was very helpful with explaining how to order; first select your size, then if you want a hot or cold beverage, then select your ice and sweetness level to ensure you get the perfectly crafted drink. Ive heard lots about how good Boba is from my grandsons who are obsessed with it but had never had it before. I went here just the other day and had no idea what to order, and was quite confused. I must say the drinks here are phenomenal as always. The recipe and method is unmatched and I'll never stop coming here for that uniqueness. On the other hand, there are two blaring characteristics about this location specifically that I must call out. First of all they removed the seating even though they opened this location up during the pandemic. The general vibe has died down because of it and it is a pain to have to wait in the long line and have no where to sit when you finally order and wait for your drink. Lastly, and this one might be a little more specific... But the workers here ask you if "your sure" if you want extra sugar. I'm familiar with the Burlington location and they certainly don't call me out for sweeting up my drink. Mad embarrassing and I don't like it. Id recommend to those who lead healthier lives. read more
