There was a bit of a wait around 9:30am on a Sunday but I can appreciate that the sandwiches are made fresh. I got the Sunday Sandwich and wanted to swap the bacon for an extra egg; however, I later saw the worker charged me for an extra egg instead. I wish they allowed the substitution especially when the cost is comparable. The Sunday Sandwich was delicious and well balanced with fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked over medium eggs, super crispy hashbrowns, and the thin bolo bread which I was a big fan of. Chive On was a good try as it combined the savory eggs with the sweet honey and a little spice from the sriracha along with the creaminess from the cream cheese. If you're a texture person, you would love this one! From a price and fullness perspective, the Sunday Sandwich was the winner but both really great tries!

The food is generally very tasty, though occasionally you really don't get what you pay for. For example, when I get bagels there with cream cheese (which they charge $1.25 for), I will get almost no cream cheese on the bagel. (See picture for a recent example.) The space is a bit small and the wait can be a bit long, but the experience is generally worth it.

This a local spot, if you know, you know, and if you don't, now you do :) Let me just say that if there is one thing to really focus in on, it's consistency. In today's economy with everything so expensive you sometimes feel like you don't get the best value for money spent. So let me tell you, these guys and girls nail it every single time. First off it's a super cozy spot, perfectly lit with a high end tavern type feel. Service is always prompt and friendly. Ask anyone working and they're happy to help you out. You'll never hear let me get your server. Drinks ! Specialty drafts that are nearly impossible to find anywhere else. Drinks that are so well thought out and properly made. The wife hasn't been able to complain once ;) and that's saying something. The dishes speak for themselves just look at the pics. Who makes sausage cups for dipping ??! This place does. The wife had a watermelon salad here years ago and hasn't stopped talking about it. There is literally something here for everyone and every pallet preference. You have to try their brunch ! It's nice to see a place that really prides itself on what it serves. The wife and I were able to get a sitter and finally have a dinner night and Rogue never disappoints. Getting into the city can be a pain sometimes but it's so worth it coming here. They buy their products from local sources and they're a local business. I love to support it and can't wait to eat here again. For me to take the time to write this is saying a lot but the guys and girls who make this place run, really deserve the recognition. I hope you try them out.

Service was friendly & helpful, and the menu offers many delicious sounding options. Food is fast casual style (order at the counter, get a card - here all were west side street signs, not the usual numbered placards, food will be delivered to your table. I had the avocado shakshuka, my husband had the lox omelet (see the photo). Despite the large menu of fancy coffee options, we each had a basic iced. It was served in a glass, which was a nice touch. Self serve milk was at a station in the dining room area. Coffee was good, cold but I would have traded some coffee for a bit more ice to stay that way as I drank it slowly. Both of us were surprised when our meals were delivered: the plates were beaut! In particular his omelet was absolutely gorgeous! Now for the flavors: the omelet had a generous helping of perfect cooked eggs (not sitting in a pile of grease, as restaurant omelets frequently are). It was so fluffy that we both thought "that's way more than the advertised 3 eggs," and the lox was thickly layered whole slices nestled inside the fold. Most places chop the lox like vegetables, add it to the eggs, & make it like a veggie omelet - meh. This iteration was perfect; the lox tasted like smoked salty fish, losing none of that flavor to the omelet itself. The potatoes? Fabulous! Great spice mix, cooked until they were crispy. That was a tasty bit of marble rye toast too. My shakshuka was very good, but a bit less successful. The elements were all excellent; the avocado was actually guacamole since it was mashed & there were tomatoes and spices in the dish. The combination worked, except for the bread element. The dish as presented was really more of an avocado toast with shakshuka on top. It might have been more successful to add the avocado/guacamole as a unique base on the plate, with the tomato sauce and eggs on top with toast on the side (as is the way shakshuka is traditionally served) because halfway through the bread got really soggy & less appetizing. Still, the first few bites, while everything was still warm? So good!

I debated whether or not to leave this review but after seeing a few others talk about the service…read moreI thought it was good to be honest. To be clear I ordered pick up and since it was my first time here and I'm rather short and it's hard to see through others, I missed seeing where the pick up orders sat (so that's kinda on me) and I waited in the line for no reason. I'm not faulting them for that! That being said it seems like Cru may need to work on their organization and flow. The lines appear to get a bit backed up (which it seems like a steady Sunday brunch flow nothing so crazy) and when it was my turn at the counter and I was just going to ask for my pick up the server said in a not apologetic or friendly tone before I could say anything "sorry I have a bunch of drinks to make so I'm gonna have to push you guys back." Now for me it's just an oh well I'm just grabbing this it should be ready and I leaned where the pick ups sit, but for the 8-10 people waiting in the line behind me it really felt like okay maybe you need someone else at front of house then (which would be I imagine a staffing issue and not this servers fault individually). Aside from this I really wanted to like cru as it's a somewhat more affordable place (and they REALLY tout this on their website to the max) so I think you could forget all the former info if the food was good but when it came to my food it was really just...fine. It makes sense how their lox sandwich could be so cheap as there was barely any smoked salmon (or cream cheese) and the omelette was meh as well. Not a ton of flavor to anything and nothing special. All in all I wouldn't return and I think it would be a bit disingenuous to give it any of a higher rating (and if there were half stars I'd probably give it lower). There are so many much better local places around so I wouldn't see any reason to return here.

It was good - but wasn't as amazing as the broccoli. I do however recognize I removed the aspects of the dish that would have made it a 10/10. It was remarkably underwhelming. The fish had a strange texture & the dish was completely lacking in flavor. Very bland. The best part was the golden berries. The portion size surprised me as well. I will be back! I might stay away from the overpriced raw bar next time.
