I wanted a crepe and I have been wanted to go back to this place which I haven't been since before Covid . La Creperie is a great hole in the wall place right off of Thayer street. There is no parking so make sure you find a spot on Thayer street. I walked in the and the menu hasn't really changed (that's a good thing). I ordered the Lisa savory crepe along with the cranberry cooler smoothie. I enjoy when a place has good service. The man behind the counter running the show was extremely friendly, held a conversation with me and was knowledgeable on the ingredients. I enjoyed the Erin Crepe, which has chocolate chips and bananas (the perfect combo) my friend had the Nutella and strawberries crepe which was also freshly prepared and looked amazing. I enjoyed seeing the fresh fruit lined up against the wall which ensures you that you are eating FRESH (not frozen) fruit. This little hole in the wall is pretty decent. It is very small inside, no bathroom. The staff was friendly and there is a small dine in area with about 4 tables. They sell more than just crepes. They also have smoothies, wraps, salads and belgian waffles. The prices are reasonable for the economy these days lol. I did think it would be a little cheaper though. I got a smores crepe that was pretty good. Very sweet , but appetizing. The things I didn't like was the rough parking, i had to drive around looking for about ten minutes, the no bathrooms andd the fact that is was a little pricey for the size. Met up with friends at La creperie for a treat. Parking was ok, a street away, thankfully not busy like that area usually is. There is no parking for the restaurant, its on a small side street. It's a small location with 3 tables inside, a couple tables outside. The staff was friendly and patient. We ordered 3 sweet crepes and they came out perfect; was a rainy/chilly night so we got tea with it. Nice they have options of tea, sodas and water for sale. I got the chocolate chip and coconut crepe for first time and loved it! Very chocolaty, and the coconut flakes add to the taste. Recommend asking for whipped cream on top. I think the reason why I'm not the biggest fan of crepes is because they're never stuffed with enough ingredients and this was true for these crepes as well. I enjoyed Anthony's berry good crepe the most but it lacked flavor. If you're into Nutella I would probably ask to have Nutella added to any of these options. I think Nutella is a key player and I regret not asking for it on these. Parking is going to be a little tough depending on the time and day you go but the good thing is that if you go after 6 it's free street parking and you can check out the stores or food places on Thayer. La Creperie is always my go-to if I'm out in Providence (or nearby) for dinner and left craving something sweet. Parking can be a challenge, given that this is tucked away on a side road off Thayer St, but I usually sneak into a spot nearby and walk over. The menu is pretty simple, some savory and some sweet, and you can make custom crepes with the ingredients. If there's a wait, it goes by quickly. Fair warning the inside is very small so there have been times when I've had to wait outside, so bundle up if you go in the winter. My go-to is the Nutella and strawberry - is there a more delicious combo?! Crepes are a good size, are made to order, and don't last more than a couple minutes once I get it in my hands. Excellent place to visit if you're looking for dessert or a light meal. read more

If this was on triple D it would land in the 'dive' region. Footsteps from the bustling Thayer vibe, in a dark alley, sits this French inspired establishment. Been here multiple times and was only nearly run over one time though! Worth the risks. I digress aha the food is masterfully crafted and somewhat of a hypnotic process to us commoners. It was a beautiful Friday, so we thought we would check out this place. The place is in a small alley, so you'll see cars pass by and there is not much legal parking. They have 2 tables inside and 1 table outside with a few seats. We ordered using the snack pass app and got a text message when the order was ready, about 20 minutes. We had the Joesephine Crepe with add-ons: spinach, Napolitaine Crepe, Mad Hawaiian Smoothie, and Tropical Oasis Smoothie. Our total was $34. It was a little steep for the portions, but the smoothies was a good size. I was disappointed that I paid extra for spinach, but did not receive any. So I have a gift certificate to a crêpe restaurant in Providence. Mike and I had gone there during the pandemic and gotten takeout and it was very good. We wanted to use up the gift card because we just have so many. I looked up The crêperie on Google and found the address and the directions. As Mike and I were driving there I kept saying that I felt as if this restaurant were in a different place so maybe they had moved. When we got there I found a very small restaurant with little indoor seating and plenty of outdoor seating. While we were waiting there and eating I saw many orders go on the pick up shelves and they were a lot of takeout orders apparently. Mike and I ordered and I gave them the gift c are to pay for it. They and ran it and ran it and then typed in the numbers manually and it just wouldn't work . So we paid as we were happy to do. And we thoroughly enjoyed the crepes. Sometimes when I go to a Creperie I think that I should just order a plain crepe because they are just so tasty and delicious. I got one with sausage and egg and cheese in it and it was good and Mike got a fruity one which was good. I had heard some rave reviews about this spot just off of Thayer Street and as a crepe-lover I was anxious to try it! The menu is quite appealing with a wide range of sweet and savory crepes. The interior is very small and the staff is minimal, but they were friendly and pleasant when I arrived and ordered. I tried one of their special crepes, the chicken cordon bleu which is filled with ham, chicken, Swiss cheese, and bechamel sauce. Personally I prefer softer crepes for sweet filling and crispier crepes for savory (in France they use buckwheat crepes or galettes for savory fillings, and those have more texture). My savory crepe was wrapped in a very soft crepe (it is what it is) but I found the crepe itself to have a slight sweetness to it that just felt off with the savory filling. I'm not sure if they use the same crepe batter for sweet and savory crepes and if there is any sugar in it but there was just something slightly sweet about my savory crepe and I wasn't a huge fan of that aspect. I would like to return and try one of the sweet crepes because I feel like based on the crepe texture and flavor that will be a bigger win than the savory renditions. The crepes themselves were pretty good. It's definitely pricey, but hey, it's Thayer. My issue was with the service. When we ordered, there was a 30-minute wait, which was fine with us, we knew they were busy in there. We ordered our food to go because it was slammed, and we wanted to sit outside. We came back about 30 minutes later, and the food was still not done, again, not a huge deal for us. When we returned, we saw an open table outside and decided to stay anyways. Our food finally came up, and we sat outside and ate. One of the staff members approached us rather sternly and said, 'To-go boxes are for customers that are leaving, they clog up the trash cans'. As someone who has run a small business, I know the manpower and stress it takes. This employee was either having a bad day or stressed out, which I get. However, it was completely rude and unnecessary to approach us like that. Funny enough, we took some boxes because we had ordered too much. It is completely inappropriate to approach customers like that, especially first-time buyers who ordered several things and left a generous tip. Times are tough. Popped in with a friend during the weekend and were greeted by a very miserable looking guy that just death glared us while we walked in. Seemed very annoyed that we had come in but it was a good hour and a half before they closed so not sure what the attitude was for. My friend and I ordered one crepe each, and as we sat waiting, the guy behind the counter blasted the radio, making it hard for my friend and I to hear each other from across the table, almost as if to drive us out. We were going to eat in but ended up getting them to go because of how unpleasant he made the room. My friend and I were excited to get crepes but will not be returning because of this kid's piss poor attitude. The girl he was working with was nice and friendly enough, and the crepes were decent, which is why I'm not leaving this place one star. I've worked in customer service for 7 years, so you learn how to force a friendly attitude even if you're not in the mood, and this kid just seemed to be bothered by the presence of customers in the store overall. For that much, I'd expect some offering of whipped cream, sugar, or toppings, or simply a better presentation. If you go to their website, the crepes they show are NOTHING like what's served, it's very deceptive! The Nutella one had barely any Nutella and the fruit one had a few tiny pieces of fruit. Both were clearly undercooked and didn't taste like anything, we nearly threw them out! On top of this, we didn't even want two crepes, we wanted one crepe and one waffle but instead we got two crepes. Staff sort of ignored us and didn't seem to really care about anything, busy on their phones, so clearly it isn't a staffing issue. Francophones, francophiles, millennials, and Gen-Xers: Give this place a try! We're visiting from New York and I was so excited to see this place pop up in my "food near me" search. I lived in France for several years and then co-opened a crêperie in Chicago with a French chef. I've had a lot of crêpes in my day! Flavor-wise and consistency-wise, their sweet batter is on point. Their banana-Nutella crepe was, for me, distinguishable from the ones on Rue St Michel *only* by the crêpe fold/shape and the generosity of the serving. Very good, and definitely shareable. Their savory crêpe offerings are an Americanized version of what you would find in Breton crêperies. That is not to say "bad"! Personally, I love to see béchamel on a crêpe menu, even if I never saw them on French menus. I got the "Lisa" (turkey, Swiss, tomato, béchamel), and it tasted identical to my favorite crêpe that we used to serve in our shop! My two mini-critiques, one of which I saw in other reviews: they don't have a second, savory galette batter made with sarrasin (buckwheat) flour, and there aren't runny eggs served in the crêpes. Maybe you can order them as an add-on and I did not notice! For the buckwheat, I figure they know there should be two batters but they're simply catering to their main clientele (university students) who might be turned off by the crêpe's dark color or salty flavor. And it wouldn't be cost-effective to make small batches of sarrasin batter to keep on hand for crêpe snobs. Otherwise, I can tell you that they use real crêpe griddles and wooden batter spreaders, and the young man who made mine did so expertly. The only thing different from our set-up was the soatula they used to flip the crêpes. PLUS! They were playing an awesome 80s New Wave music station (The Cure, The Clash, The Cars, Simple Minds, Talking Heads, Simple Minds, Dead or Alive) and one of the employees looks like a younger, cuter Ric Ocasek ;) I would be coming here weekly if we lived locally! read more

"That crepe place on Thayer" is quite well known by Brown students. Some kids swear by it. However, I don't think it's that great at all. I've visited twice - once last year, once this year. I'll probably only go once a year to be honest. Crepes are great but only when they're light. The crepes here are usually pretty thick. The one I ordered today (Nutella and strawberry) was especially thick and so so so crispy. I found it hard to cut with their flimsy plastic knives. I hate to be so harsh on this place, but the crepes really just aren't that special. My dad's crepes are so much fluffier. Can't really give this place more than 2 stars... sorry La Creperie! Almost forgot to mention that their seating area is bad. So small. When there are people occupying all of the tables, you can hardly get around to the counter to order. Feeling thirsty and want to drink some of their complementary water by the window? Think again! One of the best crepe places I know of in RI. Great for a late night snack or a little dessert if you are around Thayer street. I ordered the Go Nuts crepe which is a classic crepe with banana, strawberries, and Nutella. I wish I took a picture of it but I devoured it in minutes. I also tried the Emma's Apple Pie crepe which really did taste like an apple pie and would've been even better with some vanilla ice cream. I love La Creperie! My favorite crepe they serve is the butter and sugar. It is the simplest, but it allows you to really enjoy the flavor of the crepe itself. However, they do have a good variety of other delicious crepes here as well featuring various fruits, peanut butter, and nutella. All very yummy!
