Amazing Healthy Stake Breakfast with seasoned stake and sautéed spinach. This morning at the Roost I had the best breakfast!

Amazing Healthy Steak Breakfast at Ed's Roost. Seasoned steak with sautéed spinach it is the Best!!!!

this with a coffee cost me $19.33....yikes!

OK omelet-fresh and hot. Was completely lacking in toppings-asked for spinach and broccoli and legit got 4 pieces of broccoli. The spinach was raw but the heat of the eggs cooked it for me. Place is hidden amongst the other places on main street. My omelet and coffee came to $19.33 plus tip! I thought that was way too high for what I got....Guess it's the "new normal"....

    already downed two apple juices

yelling at me saying there's no free refills when i didn't ask. sausage smells bad. toast was good. apple juice fire tho i won't buy another because she's being rude. daddy likes his meal so i'm happy

McLight breakfast sandwich with Swiss cheese and avocado spread; home fries.

GREAT breakfast food and friendly, efficient staff! Feel like this place has gotten overlooked on Main Street bc there are so many hot spots but the vibe has changed in the past year and it's my go to spot lately. Fave is the McLight breakfast sandwich which has spinach and cheese - add the avocado spread and home fries on the side and it's a hearty & healthy breakfast.

Vintage Ballantine's can, among others? Cool.

Hearty home-style food Prompt, friendly service Great, cozy space Ed's Roost - assuming I am not lazily eating mango while overlooking the sea in Trinidad when I retire, then this is the type of breakfast place I do hope to frequent when I retire. The space feels like home, the straightforward, well-executed food tastes great, the service is with a smile, many people know each other here and welcome each other heartily, and even those of us less regular visitors will feel in on that vibe. I don't ask for much more than that. Maybe a clearer indication of being cash-only, but it's a very minor quibble. As an aside, I'll be unable to weigh in on the Ed's/Jigger's debate, as, sadly, Jigger's appears to owe Centreville Bank more money than it takes to keep the doors open. As such, I'll mourn my missed opportunity, but remain happy to know Ed's. I think you will, too.

The chorizo and red pepper omelet with grilled home fries.

Friendly service, tasty breakfast, interesting interior, and even a nice fall view of Main Street. Had the chorizo and red pepper omelet with grilled home fries.

Two eggs and beef hash w/ complementary toast.

Ed's Roost is my #1 breakfast stop. The hash is fantastic, and the recent menu additions are great too.

Hands down, the best corned beef hash in Rhode Island. That alone is worth a visit! A great local breakfast place on Main St.

My partner and I grabbed seats at the bar and immediately felt like regulars thanks to Kelsi. She was so friendly, knew so many people by name, and somehow kept everyone's coffee topped off like a pro. Truly unlimited hot coffee, which is appreciated. The whole place was decked out for St. Patrick's Day and it added such a festive, welcoming vibe. I also loved hearing that they switch up seasonal menu items every few weeks. The staff really leans into it, which makes it feel fresh and fun every time you visit. I ordered a gluten free Johnnycake topped with poached eggs, sausage, and hollandaise, plus home fries. Everything was spot on. Great portions, great flavor, and honestly no need to reach for salt, pepper, or ketchup which says a lot. We both ended up taking leftovers because we were so full. Bonus points for Kelsi sending me out with a to-go cup for my salted caramel iced coffee. Little touches like that go a long way. Also, fun fact, they offer a discount if you pay cash. Already looking forward to going back. Thank you!

They do have parking available which is nice since there area mostly only have street parking. Inside is pretty large and they have lots of tables and counter. It was not too busy so we were sat down right away. They did have some easter specials but i ended up getting Fried chicken sandwich and deviled eggs. Deviled egg came out quickly. It was ok looked kind of sad as seen on the picture. Rest of the food took a while for it to come out which was weird because it wasn't that busy. Maybe short staffed. Finally the food arrived. Fried chicken sandwich was honestly not that great. Looked like it was fried too long, darkened. The cut did not have a lot of meat and it was very dry. The sauce and brioche bun helped it to balance it a bit. Fries were good. Overall the food was ok at best. We decided to try their dessert. We got the easter special egg cheese cake and carrot cake. The desert was excellent. Egg cheese cake had egg and nest looking chocolate frosting which made it look in theme for easter. It had nice creamy cheese flavor with chocolate frosting and good crust at the bottom. Carrot cake was moist and delicious. Service was ok. We had a new server that seemed like was not fully trained yet with knowledge about their menu. Wait was long for the main meal. I can see that she was trying though. Overall the place was ok. Food quality seemed to be inconsistent with the menus. If anything i would come back for the desert if they have the cheese cake around again.

Wickford on the Water has a prime spot with water views from their deck and side windows. In summer this place if full most days due to it's location. Recently we stopped in for lunch. The street side of the building is a dining room, while the water side is a bar area with bar seating and high top tables. Single men's and women's rooms are in the hallway connecting the two spaces. Wait to be seated by the hostess. On our visit, the hostess sent us down the hall to 'see Angelo' in the bar as the dining room was full. Angelo let us pick a table and brought menus. We placed our drink order and spent a good deal of time looking over the menu. Angelo was patient and gave us plenty of time to decide. Their website has options for ordering pick-up or delivery through door dash where you can view those menu options, but not 'just the menu' as a stand alone page to preview. It was a sunny, cold day and I decided on the short rib shepherds pie and a side salad. The salad arrived first. It was very lightly dressed with fresh lettuce and brittle croutons. The shepherds pie arrived in a casserole, hot from the oven with cheese melted over the potatoes. My first bite was potatoes. They were tasty enough with the melted cheese on top. No need for salt or other seasonings. My second bite had a mere hint of meat in an oily sauce under all those potatoes. After eating a quarter of the dish and finding very little short rib, I began to move the potato out of the way to access the meat. This revealed an inconsistent, thin film of meat at the bottom of the bowl. I do love potatoes, and these were tasty, however, for that price, I expect more protein. The restaurant was quiet during our visit. They have a nice mix of relaxing, current music playing in the background. The restaurant and restroom were clean. Deck dining and bar, in warmer weather, is a nice option and the menu offers a variety of food choices from apps to entrees. Staff are competent. Parking is on-street and in the local public lot nearby.
