    Corn beef hash

Always super quick service and friendly staff and customers! It's a seat yourself restaurant with booth, table, and a couple bar seats as well. Me and my dad went on a Wednesday morning at 10am and there was no wait at all with plenty of open tables. I got a western omelette with home fries and wheat toast. My dad got a ham and cheese omelette with home fries and cinnamon raisin toast. We also got a side of home made corn beef hash. Everything was absolutely delicious. Only thing I didn't like was that the eggs seemed a bit oily and kind of spongy. Other than that, we've been here before and will definitely come again.

My family spending our gift certificate that we were given as a Christmas gift, this past December!

My family of seven had a wonderful breakfast at Gels this morning! The coffee was so good, all the breakfast food was absolutely dee-licious and our waitress, Laurie who is the owners mom, was not only extremely nice but she was also a hoot!! She kept us in stitches during most of our meal! This is the only breakfast place, that I know of, where you can get free entertainment! We can't wait to go back again by spring!! On a 1-10 scale, we would give it a 10, hands down!!

My father, son, and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast here on Thursday. Leyden, our server made sure we were well taken care of. I commend this restaurant for their commitment to providing and offering healthy ingredients and to making as much of their food as possible homemade. What a difference it makes! I indulged in a tasty homemade banana bread masquerading as french toast. It was out of this world! I was very appreciative that they offered real maple syrup. I didn't mind paying the small upcharge. It was worth it! This homey diner style restaurant is well known for its philanthropic contributions to the surrounding community, proudly offering a food pantry in the entryway where customers can either donate or take what they need- no questions asked. It's little "extras" like that which make this restaurant stand out!

Gel's is a GREAT breakfast and lunch place, with great food and zero pretenses about itself. Right on the menu it says that they "believe in giving you the highest quality food at the best price," and they deliver, in a very busy, friendly, local diner-style atmosphere. This is the neighborhood place you wish you had in your neighborhood. They have 12 different egg special combinations, every breakfast option you could want, from omelettes to crepes, to pancakes, French toast (including home made bread and homemade banana bread options). Everything that can be made in-house is homemade, fresh and has great ingredients. There is also a constant group of breakfast, lunch or dessert specials that are almost always surprising, interesting, or completely tempting and always house made. Lunch is the same, with all the typical Diner favorites including great hot weiners (see my lunch below) and perfect (and I mean perfect) fries. They just know what they're doing here. And they do it in a friendly way despite how busy everyone is running around all day long due to the constant flow of patrons in and out. Prices are great as well. Three weiners all the way, fries and a soda that was filled two and a half times came $12 and change. A great deal. I didn't have any room for the wide selection of scratch, made desserts and dessert specials that are also available. Gel's is one of those places the locals love, but hope you never find out about it because you might take their regular table. It's a five-star joint for this type of restaurant and a four-star place for any kind of eatery. Try it and see.

Truly a hidden gem. The vintage decor is so fun, and the long list of mimosas is such a pleasant surprise. Our server was so helpful and even subbed out my toast for a slice of french toast to save me money, so I owe her my life and will definitely return. Jokes aside, I love a classic breakfast. The pancakes were perfectly fluffy, the hash was crispy, and the home fries were well seasoned. The hot weenie omelette was the cherry on top of an excellent experience.

Stopped in on our way to northern thrift & we loved it. Hash is outta this world good and crepes were on point. Helpful, friendly staff. Ambiance was perfect diner, didn't get a chance to grab a short yet but I think we'll be back. Highly recommend!

    Eggs Benedict

Good size menu for either breakfast or lunch. Locally popular and draws a big crowd! Prices are very low! Service was a bit slow but it was a school holiday and it was crowded with many families with children (a good sign). The eggs Benedict were good, eggs were properly cooked, the ham was deli sliced, there was plenty of sauce, ( unfortunately canned) and the potatoes were also well prepared. Overall a good meal for a good price.

I was thrilled to stop by and had a wonderful experience at the bar. I have a small appetite so I chose to have the side order of seafood fried rice and it did not disappoint. It was so absolutely delicious. The shrimp were plentiful and tender. The colorful variety of vegetables were fresh and the seasonings were incredible. So good... as I said, that I had to order another "side" to take home! I did spoil myself with some sticky toffee pudding of which I brought home leftovers as well. Owners Michael and Ailine were very thoughtful and said hello! I recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly to an individual, couple or family. It's a pleasure to dine there !

Be warned, it's on the more expensive side for dining and may be a coin toss for "is it worth it" for those that enjoy a night out but also looking for value. Food was a mixed bag for us.... Starting with the smashburger was genuinely disappointing as the burger itself was dry and advertised as a "French onion" smashburger that failed to deliver any of the rich, savory flavor we expected with a name like "French onion smashburger". The hot honey Mac and cheese was very good and flavorful... The hot being more of a vinegary heat than I expected but the cream sauce was rich. Speaking of value earlier.... Smashburger was $20 and the Mac and cheese was $28. Entrees were $10-15 more it seemed but previous reviews all spoke highly of the entrees and would want to try them if we visit again. The overall service experience was disappointing for us. Not for the demeanor of the staff but everything else... We had a decent size group of 8 (5 adults and 3 kids) and was fortunate to have a dining room to help the kids burn some energy while not bothering the other diners. However, from ordering to entrees to arrive was 45 very hungry minutes. It also took 20+ mins just to get drinks. Once the food arrived, they also were short two of the kids meals which was thankfully corrected quick. We then were somewhat "gently" being asked to wrap things up by 3 staff members in 10 mins making the rounds to clear plates and any to go containers. We all understand the business in the food industry and turning tables, and trust me, after an hour from arriving to food on the table we wanted to get home for bed time. However, really sours the experience and would not advocate going here with large groups.... Between the kitchen and staff I can't say you'd have a guaranteed good time.
