My family spending our gift certificate that we were given as a Christmas gift, this past December!

My family of seven had a wonderful breakfast at Gels this morning! The coffee was so good, all the breakfast food was absolutely dee-licious and our waitress, Laurie who is the owners mom, was not only extremely nice but she was also a hoot!! She kept us in stitches during most of our meal! This is the only breakfast place, that I know of, where you can get free entertainment! We can't wait to go back again by spring!! On a 1-10 scale, we would give it a 10, hands down!!

My father, son, and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast here on Thursday. Leyden, our server made sure we were well taken care of. I commend this restaurant for their commitment to providing and offering healthy ingredients and to making as much of their food as possible homemade. What a difference it makes! I indulged in a tasty homemade banana bread masquerading as french toast. It was out of this world! I was very appreciative that they offered real maple syrup. I didn't mind paying the small upcharge. It was worth it! This homey diner style restaurant is well known for its philanthropic contributions to the surrounding community, proudly offering a food pantry in the entryway where customers can either donate or take what they need- no questions asked. It's little "extras" like that which make this restaurant stand out!

Gel's is a GREAT breakfast and lunch place, with great food and zero pretenses about itself. Right on the menu it says that they "believe in giving you the highest quality food at the best price," and they deliver, in a very busy, friendly, local diner-style atmosphere. This is the neighborhood place you wish you had in your neighborhood. They have 12 different egg special combinations, every breakfast option you could want, from omelettes to crepes, to pancakes, French toast (including home made bread and homemade banana bread options). Everything that can be made in-house is homemade, fresh and has great ingredients. There is also a constant group of breakfast, lunch or dessert specials that are almost always surprising, interesting, or completely tempting and always house made. Lunch is the same, with all the typical Diner favorites including great hot weiners (see my lunch below) and perfect (and I mean perfect) fries. They just know what they're doing here. And they do it in a friendly way despite how busy everyone is running around all day long due to the constant flow of patrons in and out. Prices are great as well. Three weiners all the way, fries and a soda that was filled two and a half times came $12 and change. A great deal. I didn't have any room for the wide selection of scratch, made desserts and dessert specials that are also available. Gel's is one of those places the locals love, but hope you never find out about it because you might take their regular table. It's a five-star joint for this type of restaurant and a four-star place for any kind of eatery. Try it and see.

Truly a hidden gem. The vintage decor is so fun, and the long list of mimosas is such a pleasant surprise. Our server was so helpful and even subbed out my toast for a slice of french toast to save me money, so I owe her my life and will definitely return. Jokes aside, I love a classic breakfast. The pancakes were perfectly fluffy, the hash was crispy, and the home fries were well seasoned. The hot weenie omelette was the cherry on top of an excellent experience.

Stopped in on our way to northern thrift & we loved it. Hash is outta this world good and crepes were on point. Helpful, friendly staff. Ambiance was perfect diner, didn't get a chance to grab a short yet but I think we'll be back. Highly recommend!

Good size menu for either breakfast or lunch. Locally popular and draws a big crowd! Prices are very low! Service was a bit slow but it was a school holiday and it was crowded with many families with children (a good sign). The eggs Benedict were good, eggs were properly cooked, the ham was deli sliced, there was plenty of sauce, ( unfortunately canned) and the potatoes were also well prepared. Overall a good meal for a good price.

She showed me to my table, brought a carafe of water, and welcomed me in. I was quickly welcomed by Sergio, my server, who shared the special and the soup of the day. Once I ordered my soda I took in the ambiance of the bar, new lights, and the rest of the restaurant. It's not a large building but they make every inch count. Now, the reason you're reading this review- THE FOOD. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich with a Caesar Salad. The chicken (photo below) was perfectly cooked, topped with hot honey, slaw, pickles, and ranch then placed on a soft brioche bun. The meal was reasonably priced as well at $33 which included tip. I will absolutely be back to the Shanty next time I'm in town.

Our waitress was very nice and patient with us while we took awhile to order. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and my friend got the ceasar wrap. The fries were great, sandwiches were also really good! Would like to come back and get one of their main dishes as they all sounded pretty good. We got the bread pudding for dessert (sorry forgot the photo) but that was really good!! Would get again.

I was thrilled to stop by and had a wonderful experience at the bar. I have a small appetite so I chose to have the side order of seafood fried rice and it did not disappoint. It was so absolutely delicious. The shrimp were plentiful and tender. The colorful variety of vegetables were fresh and the seasonings were incredible. So good... as I said, that I had to order another "side" to take home! I did spoil myself with some sticky toffee pudding of which I brought home leftovers as well. The restaurant has a tree house in front of the entrance which explain the name of the place. Inside is beautifully decorated with flowers, books, old books and decorations. It's a busy place so we made a reservation. We were taken to one of the table and were seated right away. They offer various different type of dishes including sandwich, seafood, mac and cheese, salad, pizza and more. We ended up getting few things to share with the group. We got tree house tavern salad, special Thai mussel, sweet potato pizza, lobster mac and cheese, and whipped feta and ricotta. Everything end up arriving all at once. Treehouse tavern salad was slightly sweet and refreshing with candied walnut, apple and vinegary dressing. Thai mussel was flavorful with hint of Thai curry and coconut flavor. The broth paired very well with baguette. Sweet potato pizza was cheesy and savory with hint of sweetness from the sweet potato. Lobster mac and cheese was cheesy and flavorful with lobster chunks. Whipped feta and ricotta was sweet and savory pairing well with the baguette. All the food was tasty and easy very unique for the most part. We also had their desert which they bring full samples of all their desert to show. We ended up sharing cheese cake because we were pretty full. Service was good but the place was but the server was but awkward as little details were missing from the service. Lack of trays for mussel shells, brought desert with candle as it was my birthday but was blown out because of the fan. The server turned off the fan but left it off so it was hot inside for a while. I think service could use a bit more attention. Overall the place was good and food was excellent. They offer unique dishes you don't often find in other restaurants. The ambience is also nice and it reminds me of old time tree house. I would go back again m.

My fiancé and I ordered the Dominican breakfast, its eggs over medium, fried cheese, fried salami, mashed plantains with onions. Now I'm Hispanic and I love me a good Dominican breakfast but this was one of the best I've had ever! And trust me I've had many! Firstly the salami and cheese pieces were nice and big, I'm used to people being cheap and making them very small. Also we did pick up- so we were there a few waiting as it was made fresh, which I appreciate! The server I wish I would've got her name had us have a seat at the bar and got us water while we waited. She was such an aunty vibe and I loved it. I was observing others who were sitting down eating and their food looked so yummy! They were also equally out loud expressing how much they enjoyed their food. Also the plates are all decked out and even the tables they gave off love vibes! This place while very small, packed a punch. Me and my fiancé are going to come back probably this weekend to sit down and enjoy a meal and I'm so excited. Give this place a go for sure.
