    Toro-Uni Don (very small)

I've been to the The Bar by Seabutter in Americana twice and it's been okay. I ordered the toro and uni don and the toro was good and fresh but the uni was a bit bitter. The bowl was also very tiny. I also got the spicy scallop roll but wasn't impressed. It was smothered in mayo even though the menu does not indicate that the spicy scallop has mayo- only the other 2 scallop rolls say they use mayo.

Tried this on a whim this week and was really impressed by quality of fish and the service. I ordered 4 hand rolls à la carte. My faves were the HYE and salmon truffle! Very generous fish portion and I appreciate how they make sure you're done with your current roll before making/offering the next one. The seaweed stayed very crispy! I would definitely come back to try other rolls.

Yummmmm. Everytime I shop at the Americana, i'm stopping at this handroll bar. it's affordable, filling, & delicious. You seriously can't even go wrong. I prefer just choosing on of their set-menus, but you can't go ahead & choose all the rolls you want too. SOOO GOOD.

Love this small sushi place in Americana. They have a small menu, but everything is fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this place for people who want a light and small meal. Forgot to take more pics because I was busy eating...

Walked in on a Saturday night with no wait, which already felt like a win. The interior is sleek and modern, and the curved handroll bar makes the space feel intimate but still lively. It ended up being a great date night spot before heading to a movie. We ordered the 6-handroll set. The blue crab was the standout and my favorite, followed by the spicy tuna and scallop, which were both excellent. Salmon and amberjack were solid, but the negi toro I wasn't a fan of. If you're a texture person, this one might not be for you. Overall, a really enjoyable experience. Service was good, pacing between handrolls was nice, and pricing felt fair for the Americana. I'd come back to try a few other rolls.

Wow, just wow! Such a classy experience. The sushi hand rolls are absolutely delicious, and all you need is a little sake on the side to complete the meal. I'm so happy I had the chance to try this spot. It's a perfect place to stop if you're shopping at the Americana or simply looking for a unique sushi experience.

Stopped here today and it did not disappoint! The handrolls were incredible. The rice was perfect and nothing fell off of my roll after the first bite which is ideal. The uni was shipped in from Japan this morning and obviously so fresh because of that. The amberjack roll was one of my favorites as well as the scallop roll. Service was beyond outstanding here too which made the experience even better.

A couple of weeks ago, my friend and I went to The Bar - Handrolls by Seabutter for a weekday lunch. We arrived around 12:30pm on Monday and it wasn't busy, so we were seated promptly. The ambiance of the restaurant is upscale, yet casual. The service was fine; the chef prepared the handrolls at a good pace and we didn't feel rushed. Also, there's bar-top seating with the chefs behind the counter, and there's only 1 gender-neutral restroom in the restaurant. I ordered the 5-Handroll ($27) set menu. My fave rolls were salmon (fresh & buttery) and amberjack (surprise citrus zing). My least fave roll was spicy tuna because the spiciness was overwhelming compared to others I've had before. I paired this set with the Sunomono Salad ($5), which had crisp and refreshing cucumbers. I'm unsure if I'd return to The Bar soon because there are a lot of great handroll bars with similar prices in the surrounding areas.

Walked in on a Friday night, but it wasn't really worth the hype or the price. I tried the Taste of Bar and added Salmon Ikura, Toro Uni, USC, and Uni-Scallop. The timing of when the rolls came out felt inconsistent. The seaweed got soggy pretty quickly and didn't have much flavor. The rice tasted more like regular steamed rice rather than sushi rice. The Salmon Ikura was especially disappointing--it only had about five pieces of ikura. On a positive note, the fish itself was pretty fresh and tasty. Service was just okay; it was hard to get the host's attention and we had to flag down servers. Once we did get a server's attention, though, they were friendly.

Happened to be in the area and SO glad that I stopped in. Restaurant gets very busy in peak hours and can potentially have hour long waits. I went around 3pm on a weekday and had incredibly friendly service and great conversations with the staff. Food was delicious and very good value. I'm not in LA often but very glad to have experienced.

This place was just okay. Its not worth the amount of food you are getting and it doesn't taste any different that what you could probably make at home having your own sushi night. The rolls weren't filled all the way either. The service was also just okay but they only had one chef working on like the entire side of people and I was seated at the very end so it took forever for my food to get to me

I became a fan of the main Seabutter restaurant when they opened nearby. I had never had pressed sushi which was delicious. And the service was always top notch. So when I heard they were opening a hand roll bar, I couldn't wait to try them out. I've been here 3 times now and they do not disappoint. That said, you must love hand rolls because that's the star here. I usually order the 5-piece or 6-piece set menu. And if I'm still hungry, it's easy to add an additional roll. The rolls are made to order so you need to eat them immediately or the seaweed will get moist and chewy. You don't want that if you can help it. That's never a problem when I'm by myself, but it can be an issue when dining with others because your rolls will come out one by one, meaning no one gets to eat together. You eat as each roll is presented. The service here is as good, if not better, than their nearby restaurant. My only complaint, thus the 4 stars, is when you are here by yourself, it's easy to down each roll as they are made. If you are with a friend, one of you will be eating a roll while the other watches and waits for theirs. If only the chefs could tag team and make two at the same time to avoid this issue. But other than that, I have no complaints.

The host greeted us with a smile and everyone here seemed super nice as we entered as well. Already off the bat, service was a big green flag for me. Like most handroll places, they sat us at the bar near other customers. We got the 5 rolls set for our visit. For our rolls, I appreciate SO much how they were chunks, and not all mushed into a paste. They also didn't use an overabundance of rice, so the flavors were very balanced for me. What I really appreciate about this place is they are very quick with the rolls. All the handroll places I go to make us wait at least 5 minutes in between each roll, so it drags out the experience and time since I have a habit of eating super quickly. Here, they prepped the next roll immediately as soon as they notice we're done. Highly appreciate this because it helps saves me time and the awkwardness of waiting around. I love efficiency and this place was great. While I'm pretty sure you can take your time and they aren't rushing you, I just happen to be a fast eater and a "time is money" kind of person so their service was impeccable for me. Highly recommend coming here.

Small, cozy, intimate vibes~ I do have to say, this was my first restaurant after coming back from an Asia trip... so my standards and expectations are sky high still. This made most of these taste more underwhelming or something that tastes like I could have had it anywhere else. O R D E R Crispy Tuna Rice (5/5) -- Pretty good, def order this! Fatty Tuna Brioche (4/5) -- Such a missed opportunity in getting better quality toast or putting a bit more thought there... currently feels like an after thought. Tempura (5/5) -- Nice and crispy without excess batter! Ine noodle (+ sea bream) (3/5) -- Underwhelming and the sea bream was such a tiny piece. The bonus here is the quantity of noodles felt generous but I don't think this was worth the price point. Ine hand rolls - Hokkaido scallop - Hokkaido Uni - Sweet shrimp - Toro All the hand rolls were refreshing and I love how they served it. I don't think it's anything more special than other experiences I had... it is good but not one of a kind. The toro was not as fatty as I would have hoped. Servet ice cream - I forgot what we got but we tried two. Both were delicious! S E R V I C E They are so packed! Must make a rsvp to eat here. The chef or owner noticed that we were waiting for a while and offered us this complimentary fish that was actually the highlight of the meal. The sweet potato uni was a standout, honestly one of the most surprising combinations I've had. I never would've thought those two flavors worked together, but the creamy uni paired with the slightly sweet, smooth potato base was amazing. The crispy rice reminded me a lot of a similar dish I had at a Korean Michelin-starred restaurant, great texture, nicely crisped, and elevated without being overdone. The handrolls were also really solid, with a generous amount of fish and a decadent feel that made each bite satisfying. Drinks were on point too, the yuzu ale and draft beer were both super refreshing and paired really well with the food. The only dish that didn't fully land for me was the ine noodles. They were refreshing and clean, but almost too light, and I found myself wishing for a bit more depth and richness in flavor. Price: Pricing falls into a mid-range LA fusion category. Appetizers like the sweet potato uni and crispy rice are generally around $16-21, handrolls range from about $8-12 each depending on the fish, and noodle/rice dishes like the ine noodles are roughly $14-19. Expect to spend about $30-50 per person depending on how many rolls and dishes you order, which feels reasonable given the quality and creativity. Ambiance: It's a smaller, cozy space with a modern, intimate feel, definitely more suited for dates or small groups rather than big gatherings. The open kitchen and compact layout add to that more personal dining experience. Service: Service was friendly and genuinely kind, but a bit slow during our visit. It sounded like they had someone call out and since the restaurant is still pretty new, there were some minor logistical struggles. Nothing too frustrating though, just something that will likely improve as they settle in. Parking: Typical York Blvd situation, you'll likely need to find street parking nearby and walk over. It's manageable, but might take a few minutes depending on the time of day.

HAKATA SET (Your choice of: Tonkotsu or Miso Ramen, comes with Mini Spicy Tuna Don, Chicken Karaage 2 pcs, Tsukemono) This was one of the set items for the lunch special. Chose the miso ramen. The miso ramen had a very strong white miso flavor. Didn't hate it, as I do love miso, but it was a little too much miso for my liking. Typical curly ramen and it was cooked well. Loved the jammy egg too. It was a soy marinated egg. There were also three pieces of chashu too! It was good, but slightly overcooked. The portion of the ramen was medium sized and was surprised they didn't bring a smaller size since it was a set meal. But happy they were generous! Spicy tuna don was a small bowl, but they gave a good portion of spicy tuna, which was delicious. Chicken karaage were two pieces of chicken and it was just okay. No tsukemono was served with the meal. Overall the meal was satisfying. I think the price was fair for what was given. CUSTOMER SERVICE Good, friendly and attentive customer service. No complaints! AMBIANCE / TABLES + SEATS Very calm and relaxing ambiance. It was quiet and no music was playing, which I liked. The restaurant was super clean and I liked how the tables were set. Large tables in the back and small tables were closer to the front. Bar seats on the side. It was a medium-sized restaurant, but the layout made it feel larger. Clean bathroom too. I liked the set menu, it was good for the price and I would like to return to try their other lunch menu items, whether it would be a set menu or a la carte.

My friend and I came to KazuNori for Saturday lunch right when they opened at 11:30. Only one other group was there at opening, but it gradually got busier over the course of lunch. I went with the 6 hand roll set for $29, which offers toro, yellowtail, salmon, bay scallop, crab, and lobster. Everything was good, and my favorites were the scallop, crab, and lobster. You can ask for less rice in each roll if you aren't super hungry or have a smaller stomach. They make everything easy when it comes to paying the bill by charging an automatic 16% fee, so you don't need to fill in the tip. I think that's fair given that each handroll is personally made for you by the chef.

I didn't noticed this at the other location, but they have 2 types of hand soap in the bathroom! One unscented for before meal and one scented for after! Genius!

It comes with shrimp, fish, some veggies, and an egg. This was the first time at this location but I've been to their Torrance location. I like this location more just because it is closer to stores I go to. This location is smaller than the one in Torrance but since there wasn't any many people inside, it was still relaxing. The tempura was light and their side free pickled celery and ginger is really refreshing and add nice touch to the meal. I will be back the next time I'm craving this again.

There was also no crunch to it. I remember the Torrance location tempura had a very nice crunch, batter was light and airy, and it stuck to the food. The sauce is the same, as they put it in the rice instead of you dipping it into a sauce. I also got cold soba on the side since they can't substitute the rice for soba. Soba wasn't anything special. The noodles at the Torrance location is better I promise! The miso soup was okay, didn't really enjoy it that much. It's not your typical miso soup. It has mushrooms in it. The mushroom flavor was too strong for me. Service was meh since we sat down first, but they took the order from our neighbors before us. Their food came out first too. Most likely won't come back to this location again. Not sure if they just had an off day when I went, but I had a disappointing experience.
