    Spicy Tuna Handroll
    Arlene B.

We got there at 5pm just when they opened and we were the first ones there. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to seat us at the bar. So make a reservation to guarantee a seat. Service was excellent! Inside is nice, with tables and bar seating. Menu is not that big and it's not a traditional sushi spot with a variety of rolls. It's mostly hand rolls and some specialty items. The cucumber salad was really good and refreshing. I really liked the presentation of the hand rolls. It's a deconstructed presentation and you build the hand roll yourself. Taste was good but not exceptional. My favorite was the scallop and unagi. The issue we had was that they told us their specials but when we ordered it, they said they didn't have it. Why mention a special when you don't have it.

Ine was beautiful and had good quality food but was incredibly pricey. The salad alone was $16 for a small portion, and although it was good, it wasn't justified for around a handful of salad greens. The "crispy tuna rice roll" was $14 for the 2 rolls. The handrolls itself were great quality -- it was better priced in comparison to the other food though. We also got the noodles with the additional sea bream, but the size of the sea bream was tiny: not worth the additional +$3 on the already $20+ noodle soup. The soup itself was clean and fresh tasting and was my personal favorite dish of the meal. Overall Ine was a great try with beautiful ambiance, but definitely a brunch spot with small bites!

    Tomato salmon and nori yellowtail

Modern Japanese eats in a quiet neighborhood. Went for a weekend dinner. Quite a bit of street parking. Had an RSVP and was seated immediately. Ordered the following: - TH Tokubetsu Junmai (glass) - TH Junmai ginjo (glass) - fatty tuna brioche - sweet potato uni - tomato salmon - nori yellowtail - salmon hand roll - yellowtail hand roll - spicy tuna hand roll - toro hand roll - monaka - basque cheesecake Would say the appetizers and cold dishes were well made. The sauces of the salmon and yellowtail dishes hit well. The only dish I probably wouldn't do again is the sweet potato uni. It sounded good in theory since I like both ingredients, but together the texture was just a little too mushy. Was a little disappointed in the hand rolls. I think it's partly because they didn't have salmon belly or yellowtail belly available, which comes with the garnish / sauce that I was looking forward to trying. The rolls I ended up with were ok but didn't really have much flavor to them. The ratio of fish to rice wasn't great either. I do appreciate separating the nori though - keeps it crisp. The desserts were legit. I especially liked the monaka, which was like a lemon tart. The basque cheesecake was pretty darn good as well. As for the sake - def a difference between the junmai and ginjo - the ginjo is a lot more smooth. Overall - a bit disappointed in the hand rolls, but the cold dishes and dessert were excellent. Would come back for those.

crispy rice.. basically a sushi roll wrapped in a "crispy" toasted nori... there is no crispy rice at all

Saw ppl posting on tiktok the cold noodles & the seafood ravioli which looked very interesting, and we were disappointed that neither one of them were on the menu. The restaurant itself is nice and cozy. The staffs were attentive. But the food is just so-so. We didn't understand why they would leave the pickled ginger soaking in the soy sauce. And the rolls were served as DIY... kind'a gimmicky and doesn't make the dish any better. The crispy rice appetizer was not what we expected. There's no crispy rice... it's basically a sushi roll wrapped in a toasted nori which wasn't even that crispy.

O V E R A L L Great discovery and new eats to add to your list of restaurants to try. Small, cozy, intimate vibes~ I do have to say, this was my first restaurant after coming back from an Asia trip... so my standards and expectations are sky high still. This made most of these taste more underwhelming or something that tastes like I could have had it anywhere else. O R D E R Crispy Tuna Rice (5/5) -- Pretty good, def order this! Fatty Tuna Brioche (4/5) -- Such a missed opportunity in getting better quality toast or putting a bit more thought there... currently feels like an after thought. Tempura (5/5) -- Nice and crispy without excess batter! Ine noodle (+ sea bream) (3/5) -- Underwhelming and the sea bream was such a tiny piece. The bonus here is the quantity of noodles felt generous but I don't think this was worth the price point. Ine hand rolls - Hokkaido scallop - Hokkaido Uni - Sweet shrimp - Toro All the hand rolls were refreshing and I love how they served it. I don't think it's anything more special than other experiences I had... it is good but not one of a kind. The toro was not as fatty as I would have hoped. Servet ice cream - I forgot what we got but we tried two. Both were delicious! S E R V I C E They are so packed! Must make a rsvp to eat here. The chef or owner noticed that we were waiting for a while and offered us this complimentary fish that was actually the highlight of the meal. We appreciate the attention to detail and awareness in their own business. O T H E R Parking is assssss just find street parking and don't risk it at the plaza next door.

Korean owed Japanese restaurant/bistro with Korean influences, what could go right? Plenty actually. Prices are decent for starters and the food? Well, we'll get into that soon. We got the sweet potato uni which surprisingly is an amazing pairing. The sweetness of the potato and uni complement each other well so you definitely gotta give it a try. The crispy rice was a nice crunchy treat with tuna that you almost wish you ordered double. Won't judge you if you did. The handrolls are fresh and the seafood even fresher so expect a good explosion of flavor with each handroll even though they run on the smaller side. The Ine noodles with sea bream were nice and refreshing and light. It almost gives a soba kinda of texture with the soup but also not really? Hard to explain, better to just order it and enjoy it. It's a nice finish and palate cleanser after all the other orders you ate beforehand. The overall vibe is more bistro than restaurant though, nice and cleanly decorated in a smaller space but you're still gonna enjoy your meals here! If you're a Resy or Amex Platinum card user, this is a fantastic spot to dine at and since it's relatively new, there's not too much of a crowd yet so come and eat here while you can before IG and tik tok popularize it!

what an amazing spot! i loved every moment here. from the second i walked in, i instantly felt so welcomed and at home. every dish was such a unique experience, and you could truly feel the intention and care behind each one. everything was thoughtfully made and absolutely delicious. highly recommend trying the hand rolls, ine noodles, and crispy rice!

    Sweet potato uni (Santa Barbara)
    Shirley B.

Food: We tried a good spread here, and overall the food felt creative, thoughtful, and definitely memorable for a newer spot. The sweet potato uni was a standout, honestly one of the most surprising combinations I've had. I never would've thought those two flavors worked together, but the creamy uni paired with the slightly sweet, smooth potato base was amazing. The crispy rice reminded me a lot of a similar dish I had at a Korean Michelin-starred restaurant, great texture, nicely crisped, and elevated without being overdone. The handrolls were also really solid, with a generous amount of fish and a decadent feel that made each bite satisfying. Drinks were on point too, the yuzu ale and draft beer were both super refreshing and paired really well with the food. The only dish that didn't fully land for me was the ine noodles. They were refreshing and clean, but almost too light, and I found myself wishing for a bit more depth and richness in flavor. Price: Pricing falls into a mid-range LA fusion category. Appetizers like the sweet potato uni and crispy rice are generally around $16-21, handrolls range from about $8-12 each depending on the fish, and noodle/rice dishes like the ine noodles are roughly $14-19. Expect to spend about $30-50 per person depending on how many rolls and dishes you order, which feels reasonable given the quality and creativity. Ambiance: It's a smaller, cozy space with a modern, intimate feel, definitely more suited for dates or small groups rather than big gatherings. The open kitchen and compact layout add to that more personal dining experience. Service: Service was friendly and genuinely kind, but a bit slow during our visit. It sounded like they had someone call out and since the restaurant is still pretty new, there were some minor logistical struggles. Nothing too frustrating though, just something that will likely improve as they settle in. Parking: Typical York Blvd situation, you'll likely need to find street parking nearby and walk over. It's manageable, but might take a few minutes depending on the time of day.

Came here on a Friday with a reservation. It's nice inside and would be a good date night spot! We ordered: - Fatty Tuna Brioche - Hand Roll (Spicy Tuna, Unagi, Salmon, Scallops) - Ravioli - Basque Cheesecake The fatty tuna brioche was pretty good! I liked the sweetness of the bread with the soft tuna. The hand rolls were all so delish and I like that we can assemble them ourselves with the nori. My favorite was the salmon and the unagi. The ravioli was sooo good, I haven't tasted anything like they before! The texture of the ravioli was great, loved the seafood in it and the broth was bomb. Okay the cheesecake. At first I was questioning it because it looked...small. But honestly? That's all you needed because it was so rich and creamy! The lime cream on top was yummy. Excited to try other things on the menu!

Ok, so the food is really closer to 5 stars, but the overall experience really knocked things down. We had a reservation for 7pm, and when I showed up, the rest of the party was standing outside cause they were not able to seat them yet. The place is tiny, so the party at a table for 4 was still there. About 7pm, the party left and the staff let us know that they'd seats as soon as the table was cleared. Cut to getting seated, we learned that they were short staffed and the big menu items were either sold out already or not available. We started with a handful of items first to see how it went. While we waited, it got really cold because I seemed to sit in the apex of all the ac vents . Food came and everything was delicious. We added another dish, then decided to do dessert so we wouldn't be too stuffed. Even the ice cream was delicious. Fair warning though, friends hubby definitely needed to stop for something to eat on the way home. Overall, we probably be back, but wouldn't make a special trip out just for them. Parking Street only, the lot behind them is not actually for them, so park at your own risk.

    Jon N.

Every dish we had was excellent. The only real issue was how many items they'd sold out of by 8 pm on a Saturday. Literally 5 items that we wanted were sold out. 2 more that the table next to us wanted. Pretty ridiculous. But, everything we did get, we loved. Fresh, flavorful, and unique. Limited, but good sake. Service was friendly. For me, the space wasn't extremely comfortable. Kind of cramped and loud, we were lucky we got a table away from the servers zipping by at a frenetic pace. Would definitely return, but we'd only go early to avoid the disappointment of so many sold out dishes.

Ine invites its patrons to indulge their pallets with clean, proportioned and visually pleasing presentations of their menu. If you're open to trying a new approach to Japanese cuisine, give Ine a visit. The service was attentive and well versed in offering suggestions to combine drinks with plates. On this visit we tried the oysters -- fresh! Ramen that was smooth and not potent; very different to other broths that we've had whose distinct flavors and textures are familiar. Hand rolls were beautiful in presentation and taste. Overall -- enjoyable !

Really good innovative food at a good price point. I think the flavors here are very unique and tasty in most of their dishes. I don't think I've had such imaginative japanese korean inspired fish dishes before, and definitely would love to try more! Atmosphere and service is also very good and makes for a great date night spot

The katsus are worth the 20 min wait. The cheese katsu was oozing with thick melted cheese and gave some very satisfying cheese pulls with every bite. The menchi katsu was a generous size and was perfectly crisp. Both orders were cooked perfectly and not oily. The curry had a steady mild heat and a slightly sweet undertone, but it was missing whatever provides that umami flavor I love in Japanese curry. Maybe it needed some garlic? I'm not sure. I'm still pining for the curry from Curry House in little Tokyo, which was suddenly bought out and shut down a while ago. Nonetheless, we had a pleasant experience at Katsu Jin. The waiter was so knowledgeable and vividly described all of the options to me, saying which ones did not have any fish sauce or egg. I ended up ordering the Green Goddess sushi roll and the Agedashi Tofu. The tofu was brought out first and it was so delectable. It was coated in a lovely batter and fried and the sauce was just the right amount of tangy with the slightest sweetness. We also got the salmon collar, which was pretty big in size, and had a decent amount of meat on it. But it was your standard salmon. For rolls, we got the Mr. Crab and Miss. Crab. The Miss Crab has blue crab and avocado topped with seared scallop, masago, kewpie mayo, sesame seeds. It was decent but really felt like something was missing with it.
