I had a wonderful lunch here with a friend of mine. We sat on the patio and it was lovely. I got the Nashville Chicken Sandwich with fries ($20). It wasn't too spicy. I would say on the milder side of medium. The chicken was a lean chicken breast that was battered and deep-fried. The cabbage added a nice crunch to the sandwich. I felt the pickles were a bit too thickly sliced, but I still enjoyed them. There was too much mayo for my tastes. I should have asked them to go easy on the mayo. The bun was fresh. I appreciated that it was plain and had no pesky seeds. The sandwich was fairly large. The fries were crispy and very tasty. I like that they were fresh cut fries and not from frozen. My friend got the Southwest Chicken Salad, which comes with avocado. However, she doesn't like avocados and asked me if I did. Oh I love avocados! So she asked to have the avocado on the side and kindly gave it to me. It was half an avocado, sliced, and served in a ramekin. It was perfectly ripe and not blemished at all. Service was attentive but not intrusive. My friend and I hadn't seen each other for a long time so we had a lot of catching up to do and our server definitely gave us the time and space. He was also knowledgeable about the menu, which I appreciated, since I had a few questions. We ate on the patio. The patio overlooks the parking lot, but the lot is not busy, so the ambiance is not bad. They have a few tables under umbrellas if you prefer shade and some without umbrellas if you prefer sun. Lots of free parking in the plaza parking lot.

The bad alibi. Will feed a family of four.

Probably the best breakfast value in Canada. I got the bad alibi and could not finish it. Great food and good service. Clean, quiet and quick. Give it a try.

The food was amazing! The halloumi sticks are very good. Service was even better, they went above and beyond for my husband who can't have gluten. Their gluten free buns are the best he's had! Whenever in the area, I'm sure we'll be back!

Good good. Service. But noisy. There is a band by the bar. Sit in tables away if you want conversation.

The gluten free fish and chips were even better than the beer battered, which was excellent.

TL;DR: Cute shop in Orleans selling salads, rolled ice cream, crepes and bubble tea. Signature…read moreSalad was good. I enjoyed the sweet salad dressing. I stopped by Sweet n Salad to grab a salad for lunch on the way to my parents' house (they were craving Chinese food, so I grabbed some combos for them elsewhere, but I was looking for something lighter and less greasy for myself, lol). I got the Signature Salad ($15.99), but substituted the pomegranate seeds with cucumbers. The salad comes with mixed greens, quinoa, grape tomatoes, feta cheese, chicken, pumpkin seeds and Italian seasonings sprinkled on top. I asked for the dressing on the side. The default dressing is their Signature dressing, which I can best describe as a light sweet dressing. I loved that it was on the watery side and was neither too oily nor too creamy/rich. I only used about a sixth of it, but saved the rest to use on my own salads ;) The vegetables were for the most part fresh. Although a few of the lettuce pieces were browning. The chicken was lean breast meat cut into cubes. All the salad ingredients are prepped and ready and they just assemble the ingredients when you order it. There are preset salads or you can create your own with the ingredients they have. Overall the salad was tasty and the portion size was good. The price was a bit high in my opinion, but everything seems to be expensive these days. It's definitely convenient, and there aren't many places in Orleans to get quick meals that aren't greasy or deep-fried, lol. It's one of the healthier options. I'm looking forward to bringing my nieces here to try their rolled ice cream. The restaurant has some seats to dine in, but there's no table service. You order, they assemble your food, you pay, and if you want to eat in, you seat yourself and cleanup after yourself. There are a few tables outside in front of the restaurant too if you want to eat outdoors. The restaurant is in a plaza so there's lots of free parking in the plaza parking lot. (140)

I was really excited to see more healthy food options in the area and stopped by for lunch recently. Overall it was satisfactory, but I personally was not wowed. The concept is similar to Freshii (another chain that does not wow me). They have set salads, sandwiches, bowls, etc. or you can build your own. Ingredients are pre-prepped, but your meal is assembled when you order it. The thing about places with this kind of set up is that I feel that they need something that sets them apart from similar places, and something that makes their salads more special than me just making my own salad at home. For example, Copper Branch has their carrot keftedes and shiitake teriyaki, and the local Pi-Rho Grill marinades and cooks their own meats which have a Mediterranean flair. I can't easily re-create these items at home. However, I feel that I can easily re-create what I had at The Chopped Leaf. I ordered the full sized Spa Salad ($9.25) and added grilled chicken ($3.25) = $12.50. The Spa Salad was mixed greens, grape tomatoes, chickpeas, dried cranberries, and walnuts. The menu said that it was supposed to contain carrots, but I actually received cucumbers instead. Not a big deal, but I had not asked for the substitution. The default dressing was a balsamic dressing, which I asked for on the side and it arrived as requested. The salad came with a single small pita chip. The chicken was lean chicken breast, and to my taste buds, similar to the chicken breast strips they use at Domino's pizza or Subway Sandwiches (or Maple Leaf Prime, Lilydale, Ziggy's, or President's Choice Chicken Breast Strips you'd find at the grocery store). Not deli meat, but still somewhat processed. Thankfully, it was better than the spongy chicken I've had at Freshii. I was also disappointed that I found some wilted leaves in the salad and one piece that was slimy and had began to liquify (see picture). The salad was the sum of its parts. I feel that I could have made it at home. I suppose that perhaps some of their other salad dressings are more unique and maybe those dressings set them apart. Service was friendly. The manager/owner (?) even came over and asked me how I was enjoying my salad, which I thought was a nice gesture. I had just started eating and it was before I found the wilted lettuce. The place is brand spanking new and looks modern and clean. I feel that this place is for people who want healthy foods, and want the convenience of not having to make it themselves. When I eat out, I personally am looking for food that I can't easily make at home, so for this reason I was not thrilled by this place. It is not my kind of place, but may appeal to others. The restaurant is next to Great Hobbies, near Scores Rotisserie. There's lots of free parking.
