    Mini nachos

Food was pretty good and flavorful. They were not lacking on any toppings and I didn't feel like we were skimped on anything. The Donair sandwich had plenty of meat and veggies and poutine was delicious. My boyfriend got a burger with the occo salad, which came with strawberry popping boba. The mini nachos were very good and made a great appetizer to share. I'm not sure what kind of sour cream they use but it was the creamiest sour cream I've ever had and oddly enough, it was the highlight of the meal for me because I keep thinking about it days later. Service was fine. One girl (shorter, light brown hair) was super friendly but the other two workers were just ok. Food came out at a decent amount of time. Waiting to be seated took longer than normal but it was ok

Delicious burger and the Newfie fries poutine (comes with dressing or stuffing instead of curds) were to die for that I ate at OCCO Restaurant while on a 2-day visit to Ottawa. I had a starter of Seafood Chowder and was delicious, rich and thick. This place has cool decor, great service and great beer selection too. I was influenced to eat there by Guy Fieri on DDD and so glad I did and hope to go back before long.

Had a great and easygoing dinner at the bar. Got the full seafood chowder and side Caesar salad. Tasted delicious and quite filling! Service was relatively quick.

Good food and good service. Fair price. Great size portion. The ambience is very pleasant. Recommended!

I've walked by OCCO Kitchen & Bar quite a few times this summer and every time, I'm intrigued by its décor. After hearing rave reviews about the Orleans location, I was very much looking forward to visiting the (more convenient) Downtown location. The modern décor did provide a nice ambience to the restaurant. Service was pretty prompt and cordial, although our waiter seemed a bit impatient when asked about his recommendations and when I first walked in, I made eye contact with 2 of the staff (waitresses?) who just looked at me but failed to greet me or direct me to a table. It was a bit awkward but the rest of the evening went fine. The food was alright but nothing to write home about. Most of the things on the menu felt like standard pub food with a minor twist and while I'm usually excited about "twists," these ones fell short for me. I got the OCCOnda Fries and a Pork Belly Taco while my friend got the Candied Bacon Cheese Burger. We both agreed that all of our food was a bit on the dry side with my friend, having been, concluding that the food she had at the Orleans location being better. The OCCOnda Fries, while not bad, were basically a more expensive version of one of NY Fries' poutines, but drier due to a lack of sauce. Similarly, the Pork Belly Taco wasn't bad but at that price point, I've had better. Overall, OCCO Kitchen & Bar is not bad but I probably won't return.

Had heard that this was one of the best burger places in the city of Ottawa so we went there specifically to try it out and it did not disappoint! Very juicy taste and delicious toppings and fries. The bacon was delicious as was their housemate ketchup! Friendly service and lots of seating inside so we didn't need to make a reservation ahead of time! For all burger connoisseurs in Ottawa, this is definitely a must try you should add to your list!

The Long Version: My husband and I had lunch here. We shared a cheeseburger ($9.50), a chicken sandwich ($12.95) and an order of fries ($5). The cheeseburger was a smash burger with cheese, lettuce, pickles, onions and their burger sauce. There was too much sauce for my liking and the meat was too salty for my tastes, but other than that the burger was ok. The meat was smashed really thin and the edges were crispy. We enjoyed the chicken sandwich more. The chicken sandwich had a breaded chicken breast, coleslaw, pickles and chicken sauce. We got ours medium spice. It wasn't spicy at all, lol. The chicken was a good thickness and was tender and moist. We enjoyed this more than the cheeseburger. I liked that the bun they use is a plain bun without seeds in it. The buns were soft. The fries were a good portion size. I'm glad we shared one portion. They were hot and crispy and had the skins on. They were regular cut, not skinny, but not too thick. You order at the cash register, pay and they give you your order number. When your food is ready they call out your number and bring it to your table if you're dining in. When you're done, you throw out your own garbage and stack the empty tray on top of the garbage area. Service was pleasant and the food didn't take long. There are seats inside to dine in and also seats on the patio out front. There's a single universal washroom that is wheelchair accessible for the entire restaurant. Since the restaurant is small, I feel this was sufficient. It was clean. Street parking or paid parkade parking only. Review #187 (2025)

Cool place with some front window seats, 4 booths and a larger table that fits 10 or so people. Their specialty looks to be a juicy lucy aka patty stuff with cheese the melts when you cook it. I ended up getting a cheeseburger combo. The burgers are good. They're in tough competition with some really good burgers down the street...which are about $10+ more expensive though. Combo your meal for $4 which gives you fries and drink. I enjoy the fries as well. They also have some interesting sides like tornado fries, poutine, sweet potato fries and a few others which I think you can upgrade to. I'll be back to try other things but wanted to put it in your radar if you're in the area.

I didn't even know this was a thing before I stepped into this restaurant. The lovely lady at the front explained that it's essentially a halal way to have bacon, and it is pretty similar. Not quite bacon, but a good alternative. We added it to our burger but I ate it separately to get the full experience. I would go back here! Not sure I would add the bacon, but I would certainly enjoy a burger again.

Don't come here hungry! Wow!…read moreThis popped up when I plugged in 'butcher' near me. 15 min away. My first visit was a Sat. So busy! And for good reason. I was blown away by all the meat, the prepared goods. Burger counter. Some seating. Freezer choices. Some dried goods, bread. I got away with Chorizo, some lean ground beef and some beautiful olive oil. Is this place cheap? No! But, I pay for quality without batting an eye. Especially foodie stuff. Next round was a Tuesday aft. Ahhh. Better. I could see everything, not so packed. It was just after a long weekend so some things were sold out but I grabbed more lean beef, a chicken parm portion, a beef Jamaican patty and a stuffed potato. All were good! The chicken portion from the fresh cabinet was $11.50! More than my lb of ground beef! But it was a filling piece and fed me x 2. I love this place.
