Walked in on a whim because I was hungry and they were playing some good music. The service was very friendly and the food was surprisingly good. The menu feels like a fusion of Asian dishes & typical pub/bar food. The Lumberjack is from the Brunch menu and is an interesting rift in Eggs Benedict. It's a fried chicken on toast with monetary Jack cheese, bacon, a fried, egg and hollandaise sauce served next to rosemary garlic potatoes. To my surprise, I enjoyed every bite. The potatoes were crispy on the outside with a soft & fluffy interior. The chicken was moist, full of flavor, well breaded, & fried to perfection. I should have taken better photos :l. I went to browns for my birthday dinner and drinks and we ordered the beef au jus sandwich. I always get mushrooms on it because it just takes it up a notch. The beef dip has a onion bacon jam, and a garlic mayo on it. The flavour is delicious and the baguette is exactly right for crispy but soft. You can get it with fries or salad. The fries are great to dip in the extra jus. It is usually quite loud inside but worth it for tasty food. The service is always great :) I've been coming here since they opened and have always had a great experience. read more

Pretty standard spot, apparently is for a beloved spot for vancouver folks. It feels very similar to Joeys restaurants or earls, moxies-- more of the same sort of casual but attempting to be upscale spot. A sizeable patio, reasonable drink menu. Food is average and expected. First "indoor" meal in over a year! The burger was perfect, crunchy, tasty and juicy... super messy and delicious! The spicy mayo on the sushi "dynamite roll" was way too much, it took away from the taste of the sushi and made it slightly un-enjoyable, hence why the 4 stars. I don't know if it's the "first time in a restaurant in a long time" effect, but it felt a little bit pricey paying 70$ for two burgers and a sushi roll. If you like good burgers, you have to try this place out, but if you are budget conscious maybe avoid going eating out entirely read more

Great! I absolutely love this place, I was downtown and stopped here with some friends for lunch, sadly all the outdoor seating was taken so we sat inside and the vibes were still very fun. I got the Florida Special and it was absolutely delicious, the chicken was crispy and it was the perfect amount of spice. The Smokehouse burger was also very good, quite spicy. Four of us met for lunch. Our friends had been there twice before and recommended it. Ww were going to sit at a patio booth but they were cramped for sitting room (and we're not overweight) , leaving high boys and some tables, so decided to take a booth inside which was comfortable with a bit narrow table as booths go. Décor very pleasant, as is the patio. Server, "Megan" was polite, friendly and efficient. My wife had the Baja Fish Tacos ($18.75) - crispy cod, guacamole, cabbage slaw, pico de gallo, chipotle aioli, in 2 soft tacos, opting for the optional green salad instead of the fries. With water. Enjoyed her meal and mentioned that they used enough dressing so the taco ingredients remained together when eating them. $18.75 I had the Fish and Chips ($23). 2 decent sized roundish pieces of very lightly battered Icelandic cod, with a medium portion of fries and creamy coleslaw, with tartar sauce and ketchup along with a Social Lager Beer ($6.75). Everything was A-1 in taste. Our friend had The Florida Special ($21.50) A good sized sandwich (cut into 3 sections) crispy chicken, avocado, bacon, Swiss cheese, tomato, creamy chicken coleslaw on a toasted baguette (cut into 3 pieces) with a Caesar side salad instead of the fries and water. He took home one segment of his baguette. Our friend's wife had the Tiki Puna Poke Bowl ($24) tuna, sesame oil dressing, avocado, pickled vegetables, sushi rice, ginger, Thai basil, cilantro, and jalapeno, along with a cranberry juice drink. The total bill for my wife and myself was $48.50 + $6.31 tax = $54.81 before tip. It's an upper scale restaurant, with from what I could judge and other remarks very good food. Browns Socialhouse is a perfectly mediocre bar in Ottawa. The food is over-priced for what it is, but the server was perfectly friendly. I ordered the Quesadilla ($16.95), which was perfectly mediocre and what you would expect from a bar. It seemed like it probably came pre-packaged and was just heated up so the price was a bit high. I also split the Brownie Dessert ($9.99) with someone, which was large and good. I came here for convenience to my hotel and it met that purpose. read more

I went here twice this month and the food was good but the service was slow. The layout makes it hard to get your server's attention. I've had the sushi roll and the burger with bbq sauce, bacon and cheese. The sushi roll isn't very exciting; it's just a lot of rice with a little bit of tempura inside. The burger is much better. Not a lot of vegan options, but what I had was pretty good! I got the dragon bowl with tofu, no spicy yoghurt onion. Unfortunately I had to swap the coconut rice out for sushi rice because apparently there is a dairy in the coconut rice, which doesn't make much sense to me, but I was glad the waitress let me know! I also subbed extra teriyaki sauce in place of the yoghurt. It wasn't the best meal I've ever had but I appreciated the accommodations made to my meal (I am vegan with a dairy allergy). I did have a small issue with the green onions that covered my meal when it got to my table, since they weren't listed on the menu. I figured if I asked for no crispy onions and there was another type of onion in the meal, the waitress would / should have mentioned it. Oh well. I just picked them off. read more

This is my first time out since COVID 19 and I was a little reluctant. Staff were professional and cautious and overall great. I started with the house white wine which was oaky and delicious. My very friendly server (Madi) told me that the Ahi poke bowl was very good and it did not disappoint. The portion was ample, the tuna fresh, the dressing zesty and the guacamole flavourful. I was having so much fun that I had dessert. The Oreo cheesecake was served in layers and was decadent and awesome. There was enough to share, but I was alone. The hostess made an error and the manager came to speak to us, however he just explained what happened and didn't bother to apologize until the very end. It is a managers responsibility to ensure their customers are getting the proper service. He was basically justifying her actions rather than accepting the error that was made. So I knocked on the window and this moustache with sunglasses came out " take out only, here's the menu let me know what you want and our delivery driver can drop it off in half hour." Thought weird you have a driver but cant afford non cornea wrecking lights in this joint but ok. Scanned the menu and I knew what the old lady wanted. The California for sure, I saw the mac and immediately had a chub. Called the moustache back and told him order and address. 25 minutes later get a text David is here with your order. Before entering the restaurant we were rudely asked by one of the waitress for our names and phone number, we were wondering what is the reason and she answered in a rude and unprofessional manner.
