    Heated patio.
    Jennifer P.

I cannot say that I'm a huge fan of chain pubs such as the Heart and Crown, and they are never my personal first choice, but I actually had a positive experience here, all things considered. My husband and I had dinner here with another couple. They have a covered patio with heaters and that's where we sat. It was lovely because we essentially had the entire patio to ourselves (there was a single diner in a corner far away from us). It was the end of October so indoors was packed, but the patio was empty, at least for the start of the evening. As we were leaving, more people were seated on the patio. I got the buffalo chicken wrap with a garden salad ($17), and my husband got the cottage pie with fries ($18). One of our friends also got the cottage pie and our other friend got the butter chicken. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. I asked for no ranch sauce and no onions in the wrap and balsamic dressing on the side, and I got all my requests. My salad was admittedly boring, consisting of romaine lettuce, red onions, some slices of radish, 1 slice of cucumber and 1 tiny wedge of tomato. At least the ingredients were fresh. I liked the dressing, it was tangy and delicious. I used about a third of the dressing provided. The wrap was good. It had chicken tenders in it, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and not sauce. It was a bit spicy, but not too hot. I liked it. My husband enjoyed his cottage pie, but stated the portion was small. The dish that the pie was in was shallow. It looked kind of like a Shepherd's Pie with gravy on top. I had a few of his fries and they were crispy. Service was friendly. For a chain pub experience, I was satisfied. And I loved that it was not crowded on the patio. Tables were well spaced out. The pub is in a plaza. Lots of free parking.

    Brisket melt & Burger

Excellent service, friendly staff, amazing food & good vibes. This is my first time coming here, definitely not the last. I absolutely loved their brisket melt, it was soooooooo good, the flavors were perfect. The burger was delicious too but I would go back for that brisket melt with no hesitation. We had these 2 dishes and we ordered one Gingerale, the bill came out to be $48 plus tip which I thought very reasonable. Lots if parking spaces available.

Fish and chips + extra piece of fish and a virgin Caesar

I was here a bunch of times prior to the pandemic for live bands and drinks, breakfast, after work happy hours, etc., but this review is an experience during the pandemic. My family was in from out of town and we came here at 11am on a weekday and originally wanted to eat out on the patio, but it was super humid, so we decided to eat indoors. Each household had to check in using the QR code at the front before being seated at the large table near the window. In addition to masks and regular cleaning, there are plexiglass walls to separate the tables, which made us feel better about eating indoors. We thought they would be serving breakfast, or at least give the option of breakfast or lunch, but only lunch was available. I ordered fish and chips with an extra piece of fish and a virgin Caesar. The fish was Ocean Wise haddock. The pieces were huge and I would've only ordered one if I wasn't splitting it with someone else. The beer batter was perfectly crispy and the fish was moist. The fries were crispy as well, though moving them from under the fish might be a good idea to avoid sogginess. It also came with coleslaw, two sides of their house tartar sauce, one of ketchup, and a couple of slices of lemon. The coleslaw was more on the vinegar side than creamy, which I like. Maybe I was dreaming, but I could've sworn the the tartar sauce was actually a thick Caesar dressing, but I didn't mind and it tasted good with the fish and to dip the fries in. The only thing is that I would've loved to use some vinegar on my fries, but the dish comes on parchment paper that looks like newspaper, and a woven basket kind of plate, so the vinegar would just soak and drip right through. The Caesar was nothing special, but a nice change from water, which I needed anyway with the amount of sodium in my food and drink haha Service was good and friendly, fast enough considering it was actually quite busy for a weekday.

Jerk Chicken Nachos, queso cheese sauce. OMG Amazing flavour. Please it's a must Try

Great Atmosphere, the Nachos are A Jerk Chicken with queso cheese sauce. I'll be adding more food shots. The service was lacking, could be under staffed. But when I asked for our server, someone came with in 2 min, Bartender was very Friendly and full of smiles, our sever did come back to see how everything was, I Answered with a excited reply. Over all, come by have some great food and make some friends. This place is a must try.

Great fast and efficient service, friendly take out staff. Consistent in all aspects, live band, happy customers excellent ambiance. I would recommend this place to all of my Barrhaven friends. The place and tables were clean, unlike other (H&C). I did not give a 5 stars because I specifically asked for green onions on my poutine and they forgot that. Since I called in to place a take out order and it was bagged, I didn't check the Poutine but other than that it was a great quick experience.

D'Arcy McGee's has two locations in Ottawa: this one, and the one on Sparks Street. When I took a look at the menu, there were some appetizers that we wanted to get. However, they weren't serving anything any apps; just some of the main dishes. The confusion may have stemmed from the online menu pertaining solely to the Sparks location, which may have been why the airport menu was so sparse; I've come to expect that from airport restaurants. The fish and chips was the dish we ended up ordering. It's worth noticing that the dishes were quite overpriced for their serving size; again, to be expected in the airport. The fish was mediocre, and the fries relied on condiments and salt to be halfway decent. Service was fine as well. It can get pretty busy (writing this two years and three months since the start of the pandemic), so waiting times can get pretty long. As such, the atmosphere was fine; people mostly kept to themselves. Overall, I should lower my standard for airport restaurants.

Looks like they probably do some concerts since they have a nice stage set up in the back. Servers were really friendly getting us situated with our daughter and the wagon we use to transport her around. Very family friendly as we saw several other parents with strollers as well. Nice menu and a lot of good beer options. Opted to try their radler and it was delicious, before I remembered I'm not supposed to have grapefruit. The waitress was quick to get me a replacement Guinness. The food came out pretty quick. My wife got the Tuna Poke Wonton, which came out deconstructed I guess... actually ended up working out pretty well. It was quite good, but the poke wasn't nearly as fresh as what we are used to in California. My chicken burger was delicious, the cranberry and brie on it made me feel like thanksgiving. It was really hearty and heavy for a chicken burger, but worth it! The highlight might be the kids menu though. The kids can pick from 4 items Poutine, Fish & Chips, Burger & Fries, or Mac n Cheese. But, it comes with a drink and dessert. Clearly our daughter was on cloud 9 getting chocolate milk and ice cream included in her meal. Her poutine was quite good too, not too salty, nice gravy flavor and melty curds. If you're in the area this is a great stop for food or drinks or both.
