    Tofu doner! SO GOOD! (takeout)

This....is...the...best...thing...that...I...have...had...in...Ottawa...in...the........LONGEST TIME! The hubby ran into Wolf Down to grab some doners. I got the tofu one, he got the other two choices. I believe it was steak and chicken. Clean & simple menu. Clean, fresh ingredients. I got my tofu doner all dressed: purple cabbage, lettuce, cucumber, onion, the white sauce and the spicy sauce. That spicy sauce was BOMB, and nothing like I have had before. I loved that it had a hint of curry in it. Delicious! The bread/bun was amazing, soft and chewy. It's made by art is in bakery. Tofu was crispy and seasoned well. It tasted a lot like greek style chicken. Get the tofu doner! Trust me!

There's merch as well as delicious food!

I'm a sucker for donairs, and apparently the Germans are too, calling it doner. Wolf Down is Ottawa's latest German doner restaurant. Tasty meat, spicy sauce and a delicious sandwich that I forgot to photograph made for a delightful lunch. My only complaint: Ottawa folks, stop being so cheap! When I asked to add a tip before I tapped my credit card, the guy at the counter had to stop and figure things out - nobody had done it before.

Went here for my lunch break for the first time. It was really delicious. I ordered the rice and chicken bowl (box?) with all the toppings and both their secret and spicy sauces. Seriously good, and big portions. I think I paid around $15 which is reasonable considering the size. Recommend!

Was craving a filling big lunch after a late night out and this place came through. Not only was the food fresh and delicious, the portions were massive. I don't eat dairy and usually miss out on tasty secure so I Love love loved that they offer vegan options.

    Beef rice bowl

Ordered home delivery and the food came in cold - probably because they didn't cook it fresh as the delivery took only 6 minutes. The beef was dry and stale. Sauce tasted like regular mayo - what's so "secret" about it? The rice was overcooked and soggy. Few of the toppings were messed up - why provide the options to choose from if you don't follow the instructions? The portion was minuscule - which I was glad about because I didn't wanted to eat it all. I never thought I would say this, but Shawarma King does better platters for half the price. Avoid.

I love their sandwiches. Everything from the bread to the protein is delicious. I personally prefer the chicken but the beef is good too.

Food is hand prepared to order and served by Europeans. The schnitzel is so big it could easily be cut in half to serve two people. Just missing the alcoholic beverages to make this 5 star. I think this is why some reviewers felt that the wait was too long. It didn't take any longer than expected for our freshly prepared food cooked to perfection!

The food itself was good, but unfortunately not great. Truthfully it just didn't have a lot of flavour. I really wanted to love it here, but instead I just liked it. The service was average at best, but the restaurant is nicer inside than the pictures show. I think an older crowd who prefers less "flavour" will love it here. I will be back at some point to try the pierogies, but with lots of other spots to hit in the meantime... Happy eating!

As there was rain, we opted for a place that was close and this fit the bill. The Restaurant itself is well kept. We ordered adult beverages. I ordered a Manhattan and my wife, a glass of red wine. Additionally, we ordered their beer cheese appetizer. Our drinks arrived, and my Manhattan did not seem to be one. In fact, it tasted like an old-fashioned to me. After a little bit of discussion with the waitress and bartender, I decided just to finish the beverage and get something else. The beer cheese was served with pretzels and tortilla chips. It was actually fairly good tasting! My wife ordered their chicken schnitzel dinner while I ordered their chicken curry bowl. The chicken schnitzel was fairly straightforward and my wife thought it tasted good. The chicken curry was a different flare than I was thinking of, but not bad. They seem to be very, very busy, we we're on the verge of departing when we finally were approached by our waitress, maybe it was the rain or the protesters for the high speed rail? With all the other choices around, we would be hard-pressed to return.

We were staying in Byward market area. Then I found this place - highly reputed among locals for its sandwiches using high quality deli meat and condiments from eastern Europe. They are open at 9am! Perfect! Nice little deli with one table in the store. Take-out spot. We got the following: # Turkey sandwich: Thick cut, generous turkey slices (taste like actual tender turkey breast) with lettuce, pickle, tomato, mayo, mustard, and roasted red pepper spread. Paired with smoked cheese slice. It was DELICIOUS. What set this apart from other sub/sandwich places is the use of roasted red pepper spread. It is a game changer. Bread (Kaiser) is fresh, crispy on the outside, slightly sweet and light interior, perfect for the rich meat slices. # Schnitzel sandwich: Pork schnitzel topped with sauerkraut salad and served on a toasted Kaiser. This was a bit disappointing - the schnitzel was very hard and dry. However, the sauerkraut salad and again, the roasted red pepper spread was perfect accompaniment. # Homemade Vienna cheesecake: Delicious!!! $2.99 per cake, homey taste. Fresh and light, with a hint of orange. Although I expressed negative for their schnitzel this time, I still want to rate 5. Affordablity, quality of cold cuts, selection of bread and choice of toppings and seasoning, and pleasant and efficient customer service- they do have something very special that I really want to recommend here highly. This place will be our go-to place. A must-visit in Byward!!!

I've been to a 3 Brasseurs before, and I knew what I was getting myself into. Think chain restaurant, aka sysco in terms of food. It's honestly not the best food, but small kids and 6 dollar kids menu, I mean, you can't beat that on Sparks. It was hot out and I was feeling a tad light headed and starving, so I wanted something starchy and heavy, so I ordered the poutine. It was basically their standard shoe string fries (most likely frozen from a bag and not cut in house) topped with a light gravy and cheese curds! I mean at least they used curds right? It was probably the top 3 more laughable poutines that I have had, but still edible. The hubby ordered some sausage and sauerkraut dish. I ate a lot of his sauerkraut. It was good. Kids meals were decent, but again served with the shoe string fries that the kids barely touched. Actually they barely finished their meals (one mac and cheese bites the other chicken fingers) It did come with a drink and dessert though. The highlight was the giant pretzel that we shared at the table. I'd recommend that. It was delicious and a show stopper, especially with the mustard dipping sauce. We sat on the patio which was pretty quiet on a Sunday. Restaurant inside was empty. I did use their bathroom on the second floor. It was clean, but smelled of urine. The restaurant inside had some wear and tear and a strange smell as well. Glassware served was dirty but I am sure if I brought it up it would be rectified. I might go back for the pretzel and some apps and sit on the patio for some cheap eats, but I am in no rush.

I usually grab a seat at the bar, where the bartenders are not only skilled but genuinely welcoming--making it the perfect spot to unwind after a long day. Drinks are on point, and the food always hits the mark--served quickly, hot, and full of flavour. The house beers are well-crafted, and the menu offers solid pub fare with a few nice surprises. That said, I'm giving it a strong 4 stars. While the experience is reliably good, there's still a little room for improvement--whether it's adding a few more food options, rotating seasonal specials more frequently, or enhancing the vibe with a touch more variety. Still, whether you're in for a casual pint or a satisfying meal, 3 Brasseurs gets it right more often than not. A dependable go-to I'm happy to recommend.
