So Olga's Deli has been on my list of places to try for some time now, as I heard it's highly underrated and those who know, know. However, they are closed on weekends, and only open until 2pm on weekdays. So it took me a while to finally make it there, but I did, while I was on staycation! I got 2 sandwiches to go for my husband and I, a Club Sandwich ($7.52) and a Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich ($7.52). Both sandwiches are on a white roll, which was a bit denser and more substantial than a hoagie roll. I liked that the Club Sandwich had real chicken breast meat that was grilled, so it was nice and hot. The bacon was smokey and tasty. I got to choose my toppings, so I went with the conventional lettuce and tomatoes, but also got some cucumbers and spicy eggplant. And I got mustard instead of mayo. I got the sandwich pressed. The Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich was made of deli roast beef, which was a bit disappointing, but unsurprisingly given the price point. It was fried on the grill with onions and bell peppers. The entire sandwich was toasted in the oven and the cheese got all melty, which I loved. I added lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and spicy eggplant to this sandwich too (yeah, I know, I'm weird. And was impressed that the lady making my sandwich didn't bat an eye at my toppings request, unlike the guy at Mr. Sub once upon a time who told me "that's weird" when I requested lettuce on a pizza sub, but I digress...). The lady was nice but I would have liked it if she wore gloves while preparing my sandwich. One of the other ladies was wearing gloves, but she was making something for someone else. I got bare hands lady. The guy who cashed me out was super nice. He asked me if it was my first visit there because he hasn't seen me before and I confirmed it was my first time there. He said I get a free cookie because first time customers always get a free cookie. And he told me all customers, old and new, get a free cookie on Fridays. Nice! When I got home, I discovered I received not just one, but two cookies. Score! The sandwiches were tasty. They weren't huge, but very reasonable for the price. The cookies were peanut cookies and were buttery and full of crushed peanuts. My husband and I shared the sandwiches and ate half of each type. I preferred the Club over the Philly. There's seating to eat in. The ambiance is a hybrid between an old school diner and a cafe. Staff were working on some catering orders while I was there. I think that might be the bulk of their business. Street parking only. Worth a try if you can make it to The Glebe between 8am-2pm on weekdays. (132)

I immediately like this place - the decor features open, Industrial ceilings, bright art and a slew of tables and chairs. The big deli counter is old school and wonderful, and I love that you can see all the business behind the counter. The menu features traditional deli goods, and I decided to order a turkey sandwich for myself and grilled cheese for the little ones. We also picked up a cheeseburger for their mama which looked UNREAL and she said tasted great. Everything was super fresh - the turkey was the freshest I think I've ever had and it was so smokey an wonderful. The kaiser bun was perfect. While we were waiting for our food (which only took about 10-15 minutes), a lovely older lady come up to me and gave the little ones a free cookie (which was SO good - I may have snuck a bite!). She was so sweet, and I assume this was Olga. I really want to head back here and try more of their menu. A real diner experience in Stittsville! How had I not been here yet?! My friend got a pizza and swears by it for her family. It was sooo cheesy and too rich/thick for me as I had tried half a slice. But that's me. I had a smoked meat sandwich that was pomped on the menu as piled high... It wasn't but hey... Inflation is real. Fries. Peeled and freshly made. The gravy I got on the side took me back to my youth. Coleslaw was fine. I can't wait to go back and try something else. The menu was big!

It's located in an industrial park just off Clyde. So their signage says "home of the bulgogi hoagie." I love beef bulgogi, so I went in with the intentions of getting that, but I discovered that the meat is marinaded not only in sesame oil (which I can eat), but also in sesame seeds (which I can't eat), so I could not experience their bulgogi hoagie :( and had to order something else. I settled on the fish tacos ($8) with a side garden salad (the menu said $4, but I was charged $4.25, and I wasn't going to quibble over a quarter, lol). I got 2 tacos and they were 2 large pieces of pan-fried white fish on top of iceberg lettuce and diced tomatoes in a soft flour tortilla. I liked that the sour cream and salsa automatically came on the side because I hate it when places drench food in sour cream and sauces. The tacos were fine, but they lacked oomph. The fish was seasoned and wasn't bland, but there just wasn't any flavourful kick to it. As the expression goes, they weren't anything to write home about. I did appreciate that the fish wasn't oily/greasy though. So anyone who knows me knows that I look upon iceberg lettuce with great disdain. I feel that iceberg lettuce is a cheapy filler lettuce, and I much prefer a real spring/mesclun mix, or arugula, kale and/or spinach. I would even begrudgingly settle for romaine lettuce. So I was really disappointed that the salad that I received was mostly iceberg lettuce (3 simultaneous sad faces!). It did have some cucumbers, tomatoes, pickled beets, and green onions as well, and the vegetables were fresh, but I was still disappointed. I was trying to be healthy, but I should have just gotten the fries, haha. Service was very friendly and efficient. Decor is typical diner. They serve all day breakfast, and with a name like Miss Molly's Breakfast Club, I guess their specialty after the bulgogi hoagie is breakfast. I'd like to return and try their Eggs Benedict. Hopefully I'll be able to bump up my rating by a star or two. They have their own private parking lot with lots of parking spots.

This is a classic breakfast and quite tasty as it is. I love that the potatoes were like home fries (crispy and soft). It really hit the spot. My sister ordered the Lac Saint-Jean which has 2 eggs, 1 choice of meat (she got bacon), baked beans, cretons (traditional French-Canadian pork spread) and a blueberry pancake. This was super delicious too. If you have not had creton before, it is a must-try. It tastes good on it's on or have it on toast. Everything was made well and the blueberry pancake is huge! We knew from reading other reviews that we should expect to wait for good things - and we did. Went with one of the sandwich specials and the anti-pasta plate for 2.
